I’m not sure what Im doing wrong, but the middle is not joining together for me at all before the last bottom center bead. I’m doing double hitch alternating sides. Is this a reverse double half hitch?
It could be that you are pulling the knots unevenly, so it isn’t the same on both sides. The only knot uses is the double half hitch. I just alternate which is the lead string on every row.

It’s 0.8mm waxed cord
love them...but a lot if waist in cord..measurements can be less
