In some of the latest episodes, (where John and Asslo fought) he (john) was able to get the same power/ability as Asslo. This also happened in few episodes. Also, in one of the latest episodes right now, he fought with a group of mid tiers and some low tiers who kidnapped Seraphina. He managed to get the same abilities as every single one of them. John past, it talked about how he was sort of used/ betrayed by the ones who thought he could trust (?). So I'm guessing that he's actually somewhat of a high tier but going undercover as a low tier so he might not be used/betrayed (it's a theory, work with me) Also remember that woman from one of the episodes. Where the high tiers heroes who protected the low tiers would end up dead. The woman who gave amazingly high powers to the low tiers making them amazingly powerful. When her eyes glow, it reminded me of John. Maybe that woman is his mother (?) It's just a theory.

Johns the joker because he has no set ranking, he is stronger than whoever he is up against. But the real question is, who would win ina fight of John vs. 50 cripples?
If you looked at episode #148, you can already tell that John’s ability is “Aura Manipulation”, which means he can not only copy a person’s ability, but also increase it in strength and the amount (in episode #157 it seems he maxes out at 4 abilities) and that he was already at level 7 two years beforehand (whereas Arlo is at level 6.3 to date). So who knows what his strength is now? Also to note, he can only seem to copy physical abilities(speed, strength, endurance, etc.) but not mental abilities (mind-reading, fast forward, the like). Not to mention, he has to be in close range while the person’s ability is active. So there’s a lot of variables that have to go into John’s fighting techniques.

Yeah, but we are unaware of it's power and actual name. Obviously he mirrors abilities but that wouldn't be what it is called. Just like Isens. His ability is called Hunter but he can do some other things as well.

If you looked at episode #148, you can already tell that John’s ability is “Aura Manipulation”, which means he can not only copy a person’s ability, but also increase it in strength and the amount (in episode #157 it seems he maxes out at 4 abilities) and that he was already at level 7 two years beforehand (whereas Arlo is at level 6.3 to date). So who knows what his strength is now? Also to note, he can only seem to copy physical abilities(speed, strength, endurance, etc.) but not mental abilities (mind-reading, fast forward, the like). Not to mention, he has to be in close range while the person’s ability is active. So there’s a lot of variables that have to go into John’s fighting techniques.
