    You just helped me solve a planning problem. I am a teacher and I want to use Notion this year to be my lesson planner so that I can easily access great lessons for next year. I can create a synced block for each subject area so I can quickly navigate between lesson subjects but also have a page where I can see everything at once. AWESOME!

    Ah! This is brilliant! I was wondering of there was a way to have the Monthly Expenses block from your Finances page (in Life OS 2.0) also show up on the main page; you know...more of an "in your face" presence to have the expenses top-of-mind. So...moved it into a synched block and copied that onto the home page!!

      Nice! They are so helpful! My favourite is definitely making a synced menu bar thou for all your main pages. Nice.

    Hi Simon! You just helped me a lot to better understand how to organize my system. I started it in January this year and I was a total beginner. Going on it became increasingly complicated and better (luckily). Right now it's a little monster, so I plan to re organize everything. :)

      Love it Roberta - great to hear. I’m working on some exciting new tools and help at the moment too so keep an eye on the channel for more ways to get your Notion game down! :)

    Looks amazing - would you be updating the Life OS on your website with this as well?

    • @BetterCreating
      @BetterCreating  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Planning to do some tweaks yes: however - if you have already downloaded it might be easiest to update your existing system following this guide. Will be emailing on the newsletter about it I expect. 👍

    Hey Simon! Thanks for introducing this feature! Was thinking you could use it if you're using a page to write a long document (e.g. essay, study notes, post, screenplay, article, script, anything for publication.) You could organize it with titles, & sync the titles with icons @ the beginning of the page, or home page! This would keep all your writing on one page, & each section easily accessible for reference, editing, etc. Love it! =) Hope everything is well with you! 🙂

      It’s a good idea - search is often faster yes - but a nice tool to add to the workspace non the less. Thanks for watching :)

    Hello Simon,
    I'm still enjoying the videos and the channel, great stuff! Maybe you can help me with a question. Like all of us, the more I develop my Notion workflow space, the more I realise that I should have made different choices early on! The issue I'm having is that my 'Notes Database' is created from a template and therefore I can't paste a navigation bar like this one into that page/template. It is locked, in a way. I hope this is clear. Do you have a workaround or a fix without backtracking several steps?
    Keep up the amazing work!
    Teddy ☺️

    • @BetterCreating
      @BetterCreating  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Teddy, that might be because it’s a Table as a page, not a table in line. An easy fix would be to create a linked database of that page in a new notes ‘dashboard’ and then you can lay it out with other elements as you wish. My system works the same way. A master notes database page and then the dashboard on my vids. 🙌👍

    • @teddymercer7996
      @teddymercer7996 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BetterCreating Ah! Of course! I'll follow your advice from the other vids too and have a 'System' toolbar set up in my Hub page, that should solve the issue. Next job... redesigning my 'Tasks Inbox' for personal/work flow from a database and then setting out an inline table in the appropriate children pages. Whew!

    Hi! Thanks for the video! I want to convert time to a number so i can multiply time for money, can you help me with that?

    • @BetterCreating
      @BetterCreating  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice idea. Tricky though. I would say you need to find a formula that calculates difference between a start and end date column in minutes or hours, and then use a format formula to turn it into a number. Off the top for my head I’m not sure what that formula would be thou!

      @Nicolas CapalboThere is an app called Toggl that integrates with Notion. Toggl can mark time as billable, create project estimates, and quickly track time by project. You can import tasks from Notion and use it as a focused dashboard marking your time. Or you can just track time from Notion. It's free! It has a mini timer, website based app, chrome extension, and desktop app.
