I think you are absolutely correct however I still think he had the heart of a warrior. I have seen him pull through and win battles that would have killed the average man. Steroids will make you strong and even aggressive but they won’t get you in shape to fight 12 hard rounds. That is up to the individual and takes many hours of hard training, running swimming and more. And surely he had to come off of them Pryor to any fight due to drug testing. Even in Amateur boxing if you fight in National Competition they drug test the heck out of you. They hold meetings in the Nationals explaining this and explaining all the things that could cause you to text positive to all the fighters. They don’t even know them all or didn’t in the 90s. One example which was a very common, over the counter, sinus med was Actifed. That was just 1 of many at that point in time. I digress. If only people knew what it took just to fight a 3 round 9 minute amateur fight. It’s an eternity. Every fighter that fights past 4 rounds has to master one major obstacle. You have to relax. And you have to do this while someone in front of you is trying to kill you. Not an easy task. Every good 12 round fighter is constantly talking to themselves saying, “”Relax, breath, relax breath throughout the entire fight. Something else I really admire about Hollyfield. He is a classy guy. He acts like he has been there before rather than shaking his butt at his opponent like a child. I hate showboating in the ring.
