POSTMASTER KAREN HAS THE FEELINGS POLICE LOCK JOURNALIST OUT OF POST OFFICE! CIVIL RIGHTS VIOLATION!

  • On October 20th 2021, I was conducting a 1st Amendment Audit at the USPS Office Located in Delaware City, Delaware. Almost immediately the Postal Clerk exploded, screaming at me, like so many others who are ignorant, that is was against the law to film in a federal building. The Post Master, who refused to identify herself so I will refer to her at "Karen", said that that my camera was causing a disturbance and called law enforcement. Five Officers & the City Manager arrived on scene and things slowly got worse. Eventually I was locked out of the post office, and was told if I entered for any reason I would be arrested. I will be following up on this Audit. I am in the process of drafting a notice of intent to sue for violations of my civil rights.

I like your videos but i think you kinda lost it. My reason why i am saying so is this. The City Manager was there. Is he not incharge of the police and the city. Should he not know the law better? Why did you not enganed more with him instead of the cop. Are you going to followup with him and the postal inspector because i think they lied to you. Please do a follow up video to all the places the you where trespass from if it was illegal.

    Emailed sent to Postmaster Crease,
You are required to allow videoing inside and outside of building except for direct transactions at the window. Poster 7 and 1st amendment allows this. You should have trained your employees of this. You created situation at your office by failing to train your employees. As a retired 35 year veteran of the P.O. 30 years in management, I understand you have a huge amount on your plate but you need to prioritize this training to keep everyone safe and respect everyone's rights, remember the auditors are customers as well.

Technically they have no authority over anyone unless they break the law. We the people literally have no rights whatsoever. We're told we do, but as soon as we use them, we get threatened with violence and sometimes thrown in a cage for it. On top of that you then have to spend years in court if you want to sue them for violating your rights. So pretty much for cops, it's perfectly legal to violate rights bc they aren't the ones spending so much time in court and the money isn't coming out of their pockets, plus they have immunity, so really, wtf is stopping them from just trampling anyone's rights??? Nothing is the answer bc we don't have rights.

They only learn this after they see themselves on TH-cam and realize their stupidity will be there to haunt them and their kids, and grandkids, for decades to come. I say that because some family and friends members will save such videos for posterity, so even if this one is deleted, others will survive. Acting the fool or being a tyrant in front of an Auditor is a BIG mistake to make as it can impact their whole life.

I noticed the lt. shut his trap about trespassing and leaving because he did speak to the postal inspector and they told him to buzz off.

It is wonderful to see police officers interpret the laws the way they want rather than how they were written. This has been clearly upheld that the DHS memo and poster 7 allows photography in the lobbies and foyers of public buildings unless clearly designated as restricted from public use. Being a public space there is no expectation of privacy which is one reason why public officials are allowed to publicly record us. Lastly an individual cannot be expected to protect sensitive or personal information; the onus of privacy of information is on the caretaker.
Sadly these police and the postmaster caused more safety issues, legal jeopardy, and disturbance than the photographer ever would have had he performed his audit, been unsuccessful in baiting bad actions, and left. Some days you wish Karens (including the officers) could be arrested for disturbing the peace.

Delaware City, like many towns in the US, has a Council-Manager form of Government where the mayorship is an unpaid position, but the City Manager is a paid position. In the case of Delaware City, a recent job advertisement shows the salary for the city manager to be between 80-100K. BTW in the video at about 14:30 the Delaware State Police showed up in the blue uniform. Thus, you had three police agencies there. I wonder if the Postmaster would get irate if I went into the public areas to film memories of the Post Office!

You apparenlty didn't think of it at the time, but when the cop told you that you had interrupted the flow of business, you should've shot back with the fact that you have everything on video, and that him telling the postal inspector a falshood in order to trespass you is both making a false police report AND soliciting tresspass which are illegal abuses of power. Also, he started this aspect of sarcastic harrassment with the colloquial "ok here's the deal". I wold've snapped back "No. I don't make deals or contracts with people who are negotiating to violate my Contititional rights. They're inalienable, and non-negotiable. No deal, Howie Mandell.".
