    Improve the stability of your pond by digging circular shaped ones . It virtually last for eternity on like the square ponds which tends to cave in whenever it holds water . Just a little physics

    Needs grading and erosion control while vegetation regrows. The canals and pits may fill quickly with mud and sediment during the first heavy rains. Gradual slope and vegetation will help slow runoff, use hay or straw to stabilize the site until grasses or cover crops can be reestablished.

      Is that why he is stressing the bakira grass? Is the grass meant to be planted in the slope or at the border?

    Are boreholes a feasible way to provide water on a large farm? Are the dams able to keep water the whole year?

    • @alexkabeho5609
      @alexkabeho5609 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have same question ⁉️ but I can answer you on borehole, I have one in my farm 120 meters deep, it can only irrigate 3 acres, so not feasible for a large land, probably on vegetables

    10 feet deep with vertical walls is a death pit for anyone or any animal that falls in it. It is not safe at all. Even the banks will collapse over time. Google ponds/dams and you will see that there is NO steep banks. I really fear this although the need is necessary but the construction is primitive. Another farm channel "Value Farm" lost a boy who went swimming in on such ponds and got stuck in mud and drowned with his friends around who could swim but couldn't save in because of the nature of which the pond was built. We can't only think water and forget our safety. You will have people and animals here. SAFETY FIRST MY BROTHER.

    Good job Fred👌
    However think of health and safety. Kids, adults or even animals can be killed by curiosity or accidents in those death traps. A good thing can quickly turn out to be a weight on your shoulders and conscience.
    Suggestion:
    make the edges slanted so that if an animal or person accidentally falls into the dams they have a chance of crawling out.
    Remove the heaps of excavated soil from the perimeters of the dams.
    I am not really concerned by the number of dams on the property as this will help in greening the area by trapping rain water.
    Otherwise well done and thanks for the messages yesterday.
    Planning to do the same in EA💪🏾

    That dam could serve a dual purpose. Fish pond and water dam .When pumping Water from it to water your plants or feed your animals, make sure your pumping machine has Hydraulic pump Strainer to prevent any fish including fingerlings to be sucked Into the strainer.

How can u climb out if u fell in it full of water? It will have 2-3 feet of clay mud at the bottom. What will someone grab onto? Can you animals climb out? It's not safe
