I bought a proper tube bender for this reason. You kinda need a traditional tube bender if you don't want the tubes collapsing in on themselves. The Amazon pipe bender will work to a point but you need to divide the bend into 10mm sections and bend each section a little and it takes about 20 minutes just to do one bend. Packing with sand will also help a little
I have done some scaffold tube with it by packing with sand, I am eventually gonna do a follow up video with some other tips and tricks with it to get succsefull bends
One more thing tubing is measured on the outside and the dyes are marked for pipe that is measured on the inside so a 1" dye is used on a 1 1/4 tube and if the tube is thin walled you will have to fill it with fine sand just tape the ends with duct or masking tape. and bend a little every inch around the radius.
thank you, I have been playing with it hand have had some good results, I plan to do an update video on tricks I have learnt to use it succesfully but not had a chance yet
I just tried to set one of these up today 08/14/2021 and the engineering or the manufacturer got it wrong. There are three faults with mine. I made internal spacers 4 3/4 " then bolted it together with 5/8 " bolts to add strength to the frame and when I looked at the rollers one of mine was drilled crooked and came out 1/8"th off center on the opposite side so it will never roll round on the pins that are 3/16" smaller than the hole in the roller so when you jack up the dye the first thing it will do is force the small pin up against the top of the big hole in the roller and prevent the rollers from spinning thus jamming the pipe into the dye and crushing the pipe. D SC I can't believe they have sold millions of these defective machines. I can fix mine with a larger roller pin but I have to pity all those millions who will never know how to fix theirs.
i never looked at it that closely to know how far things where out, i got a full redund and they allowed me to keep the machine so when i have time ill have a look at refining it and making it useable and ill do a full vid on that
Try adjusting the two pins you have in the top holes. Open it up so it isn't try to put such a tight bend. You my have to bend it twice or more by sneaking up on it. Ronnie.
I did try it different ways and the best result I had was with the shim, I have been doing some reaserch on it and there are a couple different things to try so I will be doing a follow up video soon
you should buy it. but learn how to use it he did not show you any proper way of using this tool. use this to bend pipe only. for tubing use this "THE AFFORDABLE BENDER". used properly it can bend up 90 degrees.
that bender is not designed for exhaust tube, its a thick wall pipe bender, to bend exhaust tube you need to pay thousands of dollars thats why most people do not have a machine.

Hi Danny, I’ve had the same issues. If I pack it with sand it improves it quite a bit.
