1:45 That's MEEEEE! In the green LL Bean windbreaker on the left. We waited all day and held onto that spot, just left of stage center. Shortly after that, I got ejected over the "barrier" and landed on my face! 27 years ago!
I was 16 when this happened. I wasn’t there but my uncle worked security detail and said it was absolute chaos. Twenty eight years later my twenty year old daughter would be crowdsurfing at their concert.
Was there too, went with a friend, right after work at the Pru. Our boyfriends were going to "meet us there". It became C.R.A.Z.Y - T.H.I.C.K - M.A.Y.H.E.M - F.A.S.T & amazingly our BF's pushed thru & FOUND us, still dk how!?! They grabbed & held on tight to us to literally PULL us out, so we wouldn't get separated & lost in the waves of people! Was a GREAT show while it lasted! But was absolutely shocked how the people who put on this 'Free Friday Concert', including the upper city officials had NO CLUE as to Green Day's Popularity especially within the Alternative Rock community!! Was a miracle no-one was fatally injured!
Great Show, storrow dr was still open to cars, mayhem of thousands of people, bike rack fences. . Think my buddy started it after chanting State Police suck,,,that was after they pulled the plug mid show. Me & my crew took ourselves & our our beer over the foot bridge & into the night....Great memories...thx
Uh, DUH WFNX at the time expected 5000 people to show for this, police estimated the crowd at 40 to 50 thousand. they had the crash barriers 150 feet from the stage. Too many people in too little of space, youre gonna have problems!!! it was amiracle noone got killed during this show!
"They have been called, 'Punk rocks hyperactive problem children' ...." Love it. Anyone want to start a band called that?
A band called prhpc?

There was a sheet that people were lying on and getting tossed into the air. IIRC a state trooper ended up on it as well. What a mental night.

Ha, my mom went to this concert. She’s remembers the chaos.
I was there. Made it to the front row and found my friend I was meeting there. Then almost right after the show was over.
