Going back to your 220s are going to be an adjustment! Awesome of Tim to stick around and help out, he definitely deserves a stay in the cabins when they get done
Watching this video really puts into perspective what we got done! I shoulda kept up with how many times I heard, "we gonna need more dirt" 😂😂😂, I was thinking for a minute that there wasn't going to be enough clay in North Carolina lol
That is going to be a big and deep lake when it gets filled. It is amazing the amount of dirt you are able to move as fast as you are building the dam. I hope to see the end product full of water.
The video showing the bucket view dumping into the truck is awesome. It also shows the skills of the operator to put the load into the truck and not excessively overflowing the bed!!
Chris, this old lady just loves watching the great job you and your team accomplish cooperating with each other. You have a real rhythm working together. I have to tell you that the view from each piece of equipment really gives a nose view that helps this viewer get a feeling of the enormity of the job in progress. I have my computer screen set as big as I can get it to see the dirt moved. It's almost like I can smell it too. Your videos just get better and better, especially the drone views showing how much work is getting done. The volume of dirt moved is amazing and exciting to watch the job from each piece of equipment. Thanks so much for sharing and hope you and your team all stay safe.
As an old man who has run backhoes and mini excavators all my life, I am just blown away by the amount of dirt you guys have moved in such a short time. Now I'm going out and use my "towable trencher" with it's 13" bucket to load a half ton of dirt in my "mini dump truck".😁😂🤣
The 550 makes it very efficient! Almost 30 tons loaded, moved, dumped and spread every five minutes by three guys. I retired from 25 years of IT work. I don't know why but watching these videos is both mesmerizing and relaxing. Course, it may be because I worked construction in my teens and loved seeing physical results of what is being done. IT work is more ethereal so the satisfaction is just in completing a project, but you can always drive by a house, or a pond structure and know your hands made part of that happen.
Hi Chris, have you ever thought about the ponds that you have built. They could be in history books of the towns that they are in. Your legacy will live on for a long time. Thank you for sharing your life with me. You're the best operator ever, and I love watching you
Geez Chris as soon as you put that drone in the air we all got the picture of just how big and deep this pond will end up. Your client has a wonderful piece of property and this "lake" will look real nice when things are green and finished.
Some really good camera angle and drone footage in this one Chris, Steven Spielberg job, thank you. This 550 is something else, I surprised its weight allowed it to cope so well in these conditions. Going back to the 220 mini-digger is going to slow you down.
I really like how Chris explains the methods and untracies of what he's doing and the equipment he's using. Like the bucker setup. It's a big part of what makes his channel so successful I'm sure.
I totally agree. He's talking/explaining almost constantly. Then he takes a break every 10 minutes or so and gives a wider review of what he's done and plans to do next. Good stuff.
Robert has become a very good operator, he has the speed balanced well with being smooth and steady which gets the job done efficiently with low wear and tear on the machinery.
Incredible in action video Chris! Watching on my 75" Class Samsung Neo QLED 8K Smart TV I felt like I was right there on the job site. Great that Robert and Tim are there for this incredible pond project!
Gotta say, these are the kinds of days you wish every day would be like. Cooperative weather, everyone putting the work in and making a ton of progress. 3500 yards is a lot and that 550 makes it look effortless.
This is such an interesting build. I'm glad you got the big gal in to help you with moving dirt and I loved your explanation about what would make an appropriate & efficient combination of bucket and stick. I know nothing about construction or earth moving, but I have learned how good operators work from you. Thanks for the education, thanks for sharing this build, thanks for being here.
'Government juice' was put to good use - huge gain on the pond dam achieved. Drone footage was brilliant - certainly gave a clear indication on size between the 550 and Barney.
A 550 with an appropriately sized long reach setup would be a scary toy for sure. I agree with others that you will miss that when you go back to the 220...granted it depends on the scale of the job if you will really miss it or not. But this was a fun set of videos.
Another awesome day moving dirt. Robert did a great job backing Barney to dump dirt on the back side of the dam🫣 Tim seemed quite comfortable on the dozer. The different aspects of footage, including the drone, plus editing, was excellent. Take care & cheers 🥰
This is by far the show case video of your channel!!! Such an awesome job in every aspect ! Thanks so much for the ride along.. You've achieved so much with all your hard work, dedication and knowledge.. Can't wait for the next LD18 video ..👍
That pond dam is looking good Chris, that thing is going to have to hold a lot of water now that I’m seeing just how tall it is! WOW Great Job Letsdig18 (Chris)! Y’all be careful out there brother! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸 thanks for sharing my friend, Kirk from Louisiana! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I was thinking yesterday that it might be quicker to use the truck to move the dirt into place. That way you wouldn’t have been waiting on the dozer so much. I don’t think that dam could be compacted any tighter, it’s hard as a rock. I really like these long videos. I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of the videos on this pond build.
A couple of things I was thinking about, one was that the hauler, the way you were loading it, had to be grossing out at about 115-120k, I would think anyway, and that had to be compacting the living daylights out of that dam. Second thing is I saw pretty decent job of gate spreading off the hauler a time or two. That is going to be an awesome dam, no two ways about, thanks for the update sir.
Loved the crazy new cam angles, felt I maybe needed a seat belt at times.😀 One thing missing so far; there's not been any mention (unless I missed it) of plans for an overflow. 🤨I bet the box for that is going to be a belter, and so will the pipes I'd imagine. 🤔Oh well, will just have to wait and see where that all goes.🙂Thank you all for a grand day out.👍 Be well.😉
That's amazing how fast you guys are moving dirt. That's gotta be one serious over flow also. That 550 is a beast for sure. The drone footage was great. Gave a very good prospective. Great job guys! 👏
wow that pond dam is huge, it is a good thing you decided to use the 550 for this job, instead of the 220. it would have taken a lot longer if you used the smaller machine. ne ways love your videos Chris, such amazing work, keep it up
I am so impressed by the way that yall have moved the amount of soil in such short amount of time. Keep up with the good work. You needed this when you was building the five acre pond.
That was an excellent video Chris, camera angles, flypasts, and showing the magnitude of the site 10/10❤ Thank you Chris , a great days work by all. 👏👏👏👏👌🍺🍺🍺
Only Chris knows if there will be enough clay. Hardest working man I know. Thanks for the aerials. Just amazing at how much work you three did before lunch. Good video. See you at sunrise.
Chris you are a very special person you are always expecting ever move you make I am hiting 70 and I watch and listen to ever word you say keep up the great work.
"I'll take three scoops, please" and a full skid of 'government juice!' LOVE this project - ! Totally awesome to fathom the amount of dirt being moved.
Man Chris, that pond dam is massive, cameras do it no justice I know, pond master Chris is building another beautiful master piece, best videos on TH-cam, I can watch your videos for hours Chris, thanks for sharing awesome videos, big ponds for big machines, Mr LD18 himself has it, 🇺🇲🤙💪✊👌
Bet you wished you had the 550 for BG's pond dam, it would have halved the time. Less time completing a job, what's not to like.🤗 That 220 looks diddy against the 550, shows what a beast it is.
It's quite a fine balance choosing the right machine for each job, the 550 is an awesome bit of kit.. but when you take into account the moving and set up costs plus the ridiculous amount of diesel it burns sometimes its actually more cost effective to use a smaller machine which might take slightly longer but overall saves money
I just saw you on your visit to Volvo in Korea. Pity I did not see your 550E There. I am sure you are happy as the job progresses so much faster. I love watching you being so precise !! Greetings from Australia
I like your music picks ,what a change of scenery from day to day ,literately moving mountains of dirt on a daily basis ,awesome work Chris you and the guys are doing
That 550 is a dirt moving beast and is a BEAST to move from job to job. If you go back the delivery video you can see how it took an entire crew just to unload it. The scale of many of his jobs would make moves like that uneconomical. There are right sized excavators for the core of someone’s work that balance the time and cost of a move with the size of the job. With that said, what a cool monster that thing is!
The Pond Dam to grow in first class Quality in the height. You Control all exactly, and from Day to Day come the Degree from this Pond more to Day. And by all this difficult Work make You unique Videos, how all Work stepp exactly to see. Thanks.
A machine that big you will be able to dig a lot ponds this Year looking forward to seeing more videos of you digging more ponds and lakes thanks for sharing your time with us
To add perspective to the sheer speed of that beast if you have the first load ready to dump when the truck arrives it’s leaving 50secs later with 30t! Add another haul truck and dozer working from the other end of the wall and imagine the chaos😂. My wife and I love these videos…keep them coming. Awesome work.
Like many, seeing this pond dig is fascinating. With this pond I am thinking will there be enough run off to fill the pond? I am also thinking, this thing cost tens of thousands of dollars what is the commercial value? I am sure owner sees value in the project. At the end of the day that is what really matters.
I have watched you almost a year now and it never gets old. I could sit here and watch all day; you do a real good job of filming. I was an E.O. in the Sea bees and my brother Wayne made his living by excavator. I love the pond builds. thanks
You was talking about how fast you was getting the off road truck loaded, you was averaging about 1:00 per load !! That was just loading the dump, not round trip. Still loading and dumping and back wasn't very long either in between total loads !! You guys was kicking ass today , for sure !! When you have a good system going like you guys have, it really has the job moving smooth !! I was wondering how bad it is behind the dam, where that "wet spot" is ?? don't know if it's gonna make it worse dumping that topsoil on top of it, or bridge across it where the dozer won't sink up in it ?? But, you guys knocked it out that day !! Great as always Chris !! Have a Great Evening, And, On too the next....
awesome videography methods with using the boom to show the load, and lifting the bucket to give us an aerial. Its nice to see the big project from so high up to give us scale.
Amazing!!! Luv the shots of drone putting dirt dumping in perspective of box. Good team coordination! Luv this video, thank u! God's blessings and stay safe!
And truly amazing how much dirt can be moved with that big bucket in the 550 and had only taken you just a few days to get this pain done just think you may have another one yet wow you're moving right along great job Chris thank you for the video and sharing you have love your channel I've always had a liking's to heavy machinery

Takes about 45 seconds to fill your truck. At 19:00 truck is there and your emptying your bucket and at 19:45 is your third bucket. Another time it took ya 43 seconds
Hey just watching there. In Alberta with the oilsands their production shovels have chains welded inside the bucket to knock the sand loose. Cause they have production down to how many shovel loads fills each massive haul truck. So if the buckets all packed up screws it all up.
Just curious Chris but is there going to be a natural outflow or are you putting in an overflow at some point? Maybe I missed that in an earlier episode. Awesome work! It’s happening fast!
Going back to your 220s are going to be an adjustment! Awesome of Tim to stick around and help out, he definitely deserves a stay in the cabins when they get done

Yes that was interesting, almost made me dizzy to watch.
Maybe Chris will remember this when he gets to another job
That truck is sure bouncing around
Whoa I thought someone spiked the coffee, I’m dizzy for sure
It really is nice to see, I started a similar view but from a cranes perspective, feel free to check it out good sir

I’m just curious is all that I can say.

Camera placement, drone shots, and editing were superb in this episode.
👏👏👏
Those drone shots were fantastic! I just had to set one as my wallpaper!

The drone footage shows the scope of the of the pond 👍👍👍👍👍😺🐺
Watching the dance of machines move tons of dirt is something beautiful. Great drone shots. Thanks for sharing with us.
That sure is a beautiful piece of property he has. It's going to be even better when the ponds are done and full.
Gotta say, these are the kinds of days you wish every day would be like. Cooperative weather, everyone putting the work in and making a ton of progress. 3500 yards is a lot and that 550 makes it look effortless.
That overhead shot was awesome. It’s amazing how much dirt that bucket holds.
Barney earned his keep today! and i must say the operator was treating him gently kudos to all operators today.
I love to see you enjoying your new toy.
This project is going 2 or maybe 3 times faster than it normally does .
Great result 👍

The drone shots give a nice overview of the process. Not always possible unless you have someone available. So, much appreciated thanks.
🔥🔥🔥 GREAT TO SEE YOU AND TIM WORKING TOGETHER!!! Wish I could be there too💪💪💪
One heck of a lot of material moved on this day. Having the right equipment and right crew make a world of difference. Thanks very much for sharing.
That was an epic shot from the boom cam. Very nice!
Thanks Chris 🙏

Friends coming to help Friends. Really good-hearted men right here!!
I timed you a few times, 2:10 to 2:24 per round trip of the truck. Loading the truck is 45 seconds lol. That is just impressive

Long reach is best part of this machine, along with the huge bucket. Go Chris, Go...
Barney's earning his keep today
I just saw you on your visit to Volvo in Korea. Pity I did not see your 550E There. I am sure you are happy as the job progresses so much faster. I love watching you being so precise !! Greetings from Australia
Crazy how high that GoPro was when you had it on the stick. It was almost like a drone!
Barney’s got to eat more, needs to grow!!💪👍🇺🇸
I like your music picks ,what a change of scenery from day to day ,literately moving mountains of dirt on a daily basis ,awesome work Chris you and the guys are doing
Looking good Chris. I’d love to spend a couple days working with you on a big pond job. Looks like fun
You guys are doing a hell of a good job, watching the Sun go up and the sun go down over there that's why you make the big bucks💰👍👌
That 550 is a dirt moving beast and is a BEAST to move from job to job. If you go back the delivery video you can see how it took an entire crew just to unload it. I am sure owner sees value in the project. At the end of the day that is what really matters.
The pond is coming along nicely Chris, looking good.
I have watched you almost a year now and it never gets old. I could sit here and watch all day; you do a real good job of filming. I was an E.O. in the Sea bees and my brother Wayne made his living by excavator. I love the pond builds. thanks

awesome videography methods with using the boom to show the load, and lifting the bucket to give us an aerial. Its nice to see the big project from so high up to give us scale.
0:08 love the big Volvo
Amazing!!! Luv the shots of drone putting dirt dumping in perspective of box. Good team coordination! Luv this video, thank u! God's blessings and stay safe!
Excellent. Stay safe out there.
Chris, you have come a long way from your mobile home demolition jobs! We all enjoy watching and learning from you how to do a good job.
Chris, just to let you know, DEF is made with 3% ammonia and 7% water. In case you run out of the expensive stuff.
And truly amazing how much dirt can be moved with that big bucket in the 550 and had only taken you just a few days to get this pain done just think you may have another one yet wow you're moving right along great job Chris thank you for the video and sharing you have love your channel I've always had a liking's to heavy machinery
Amazing job Chris! I know you can't tell us what a project like this would cost this land owner. However, a great video would be you doing a cost break down of what it would someone to build a pond several acres in size.
Competency, skill and artistry in motion, what an operation....
1:13 to full truck
Everything about this job is impressive. Men, machinery and dam.
Morning, thanks for sharing! Really enjoy this project mate
@06:27 you are talking about the bucket with the clay being heavy so my question is.....if it's so heavy then why have a full bucket of clay up so high just waiting for your dump truck to dump its load? Wouldn't that full bucket put strain on the hydraulics? I do not work in your industry so I have no clue however I do know hydraulics and with all that weight you are putting a lot of faith in O-Rings
IT'S A MASSIVE MEACHINE VOLVO 550. 5 1/2 YARD BUCKET. THERE NO WORDS. CAMERA DON'T DO IT JUSTICE AT ALL. MIGHT HAVE TO GET A BIGGER OFF ROAD DUMP TRUCK.
@John Bulla...with him 'over heaping' the bucket it's more like 6.5 cuyds.
Lovely sound coming from that big girl .... purring away 💪💪💪 be nice if you could show how you sit comfortably in the excavator and control the joy sticks 👐🏴
Definitely gaining on it. That 550 is a beast! Amazing what you can do with 3 people and a plan.
When this job is complete and you after give back the machine you will certainly going to miss her having her around in your fleet
I'm watching the subtitles, all the foreign sounds, music and laughter your machines make.
Lol
That work looks like it will be a lake rather than a pond. Wow!
Really enjoy these Pond Build Videos, much more exciting than clearing trees. That Excavator is truely a Beast.
Is so great to watch your videos and listen to how you explain everything that has to be done to get the job done professionally..I would love to run that 550 bc I'm sure it is so impressive to see all the dirt it will pick up...
"Bucket Cam" was too KOOL for skhool, Chris! 🤣👍
Tim is one FINE truck driver! That's some TIGHT QUARTER topsoil DUMPING, for sure! 👏
Great job buddy and great video as always buddy 😎👊🏻👍🏻 love the camera angle at 8:50
It is amazing with the drone shots the 550 looks almost twice the size of the haul truck
22:47 cool tune sounds so familiar
Great pictures of loading the haul truck, right there in the nitty gritty dirt :) love it!!
" Government Juice " .
Of COURSE it is just urea in water , both primary components of urine .
That may explain a thing or two .
Great camera angles and drone footage in this video. Waaay more perspective on the size of this project. Thanks.
That first bucket into the back of Barney turned Robert into a “Bobble Head”. 😂
Poor Robert
Just curious Chris but is there going to be a natural outflow or are you putting in an overflow at some point? Maybe I missed that in an earlier episode. Awesome work! It’s happening fast!
