I watched nayakan...i wish i understood the language...kamal hassan sir was just spectacular..... especially the scene where he goes to his daughter's home and realises he has a grandson too.....man that scene!!! I was crying....after that i watched mouna ragam, iruvar and thalapati...loved all the films....and raja sir's music in all these films ❤️❤️.......being a Bengali ....i do not understand the language in the film or songs.....but I don't know why it moves me a lot....sheer magic!!

I loved this movie, I even got crush on Arvind Swami after watching this movie. But best part of movie which every one should watch was the scene when a kashmiri boy burns flag and Arvind Swami runs and lie down on the flag and music score running behind-that-scenes was out of the word, I got goose bums in that scene. Hats off to director and A.R.Rehman for that music score.
I can still rmbr when Roja first came out- was in high school in Malaysia, part of the Indian diaspora that wanted as little to do with Indian cinema or music coz it was boring bla bla, the kind of stuff our parents were into, therefore we were too cool for it. Then Roja blasted on the screens with this amazing score by A. R. Rahman. In one fell swoop, Mani Ratnam and ARR revitalised the movie/ music industry for us outside of India. Definitely watch Roja, Thiruda Thiruda, Duet and even Minsara Kanavu (for the music - there’s a dance by Prabhu Deva and Kajol. When I saw the LaLa Land dance number, I only kept seeing Prabhu Deva/ Kajol in my head. They were decades ahead :)) great job by the way. Am a new fan, bingeing on your vids. Bringing back so many great memories. Thanks!
