This video saved my day - I had the whole faucet apart and was frustrated watching a couple other videos - what worked for me with this video was the slow pace, the detail of instruction, and the clear, in-focus visuals showing what each part looked like. Great job!
Wonderful video. I had a 15 year old faucet and the handle adapter design had changed. I had a new one but it was not assembled. I have always done my own plumbing repairs, but was ready to call a plumber. Then I found this video and was able to fix it my self. I had one problem with Moen parts. The pivot stop did not slip into the retaining nut. In the proper position it would only go in about a 16th of an inch and then pop out. I was able to use the old pivot stop which was very tight also. It did not matter which retainer nut I put it into, the old one or the new one. Thanks for a wonderful video!
Very-very helpful step by step instruction for someone who has absolutely no idea about stopping the leaky faucet of single handle. This is my first time learning about S.H.F. and I already consider myself an expert as a result of efficiency in teaching of this video. Job well done and deserves the highest appreciation. Thank you and God bless you!
This instructional video was invaluable to me in repairing the Moen faucet handle that came off in my hand one evening. I identified the broken part soon enough and ordered a small repair kit, but when reassembling, following these impeccably clear instructions, it became apparent that one piece (pivot stop) was irretrievably jammed inside another (pivot retainer), and a third one (retainer nut) was missing completely! I don't know how the faucet ever worked at all, but the black plastic handle connector was the first thing in the faucet that failed in the 7 years since I bought my house. So I bought the more inclusive 100440 repair kit and, with the help of this video, it all came together like a charm. Thank you!
Thank you for your easy to follow tutorial. My new cartridge is in, the leak has stopped, and my wife is happy. It took me about 30 minutes; not too bad for a 77 year old, if I do say so myself.
OK Mike. You win. I've watched about 10 of these videos and assembled the tap about that many times as well. All other videos 'stuff' gets glossed over. Like this thing has a BAR. Put the SPACER onto the BAR of the Handle Adapter. That was the key to getting the thing to shut off. Now I need a beer. It's been about 3 or 4 hours. THANK YOU. Oh and Moen - those pictograph instructions in the rebuild kit SUCK.
Outstanding! I tried repeatedly to put the faucet back together step by step with other videos, but nothing helped. The faucet still wouldn’t work right! I was so frustrated to the point of tears and had to step away from it for days. The problem was not screwing the black cap back on STRAIGHT! This is the only video addressing this problem. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Great directions. Clear with right level of detail for someone who is not very good with plumbing stuff. Worked without profanity for this 71 year old.
Thank you so much for this video. The instructions that came with the kit were utterly inadequate and I was going crazy trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. It works perfectly now that I can see how the parts should be placed. Thanks again.
Excellent Video. We have hard water lots of minerals I used baking soda with the tooth brush to clean the inside of the faucet for the new cartridge. Also needed to use a very large pair of channel locks to get the cartridge out but the video was Excellent. Thank You Moen you are the BEST....
Mike, I love MOEN. My kitchen single lever faucet with spray called Chateau was installed when I bought my house in 1986. I called Moen today. They have shipped the free Magnum Cartridge and o rings. MOEN is a rare, responsible and reliable company that I adore and respect, Considering nightmares with many companies' defective design recalls, obsolete parts, etc. I am a retired science teacher who worked at Rona for 3 years, kitchen, bath, and plumbing. The parts have shipped. I will try to remember to post back to tell you how it went.Very complex sequence of steps. Praying it works. Mine is not a dripping faucet. It is leaking from the joint below the handle and above the tap.
Well, I have to say "well done Moen"! A fine instructional video. Consumers appreciate this type of video, and really think other Companies should show how to save money by doing it yourself. I will buy your products, just because of these videos Thank you.
This is the absolute best video I've ever seen on do-it-yourself repair, especially for someone like me who they made those 'for dummies' books. I just might be able to do this. Thank you!!
This helped me get my pull holder replaced. the plastic thing had broke. Very clear instructions I fixed it in 5 minutes. thank you!!!! I give this 5 stars!!!
Thanks a million! 75 year female (commonly referred to as my old lady) removed cartridge and replaced for Moen 7400 Chateau Collection with your help. Sure beats that $$$$$ I would have to pay for plumbing company - my cost $9.99 for cartridge on Amazon and $5.00 for handle adapter! I CAN make just about any plumbing repairs now, as long as internet is up and running 😉
This was totally thorough. I can't imagine a better video. i had to get the kit along with the cartridge because the plastic connector was broken. The cartridge was $20 at home depot and the kit with that plastic connector was $16. Excellent video
Thank you very much. I followed you step by step and changed my MOEN. Perfect job, explain very patiently and carefully. I appreciate your help very much.
This video should be referenced in all parts literature! Installing the black “click” key is the most important point here. The rest is pretty much what can be figured out but well explained. Suggestion: Use two cameras so that you only have to tape action once. Often a hand is in the way! But you knew that. Thanks. It worked!
Mike, Thank you for this Excellent step by step video! The detailed views are much better than any of the diagrams and instructions I found online or that came with the 1225 cartridge. Wish I'd seen this video before I spent an hour trying to figure out where to put the retainer clip (ultimately pretty much destroying it)... Good Job! Jim
Ok so here’s what I had to do... The old cartridge would not come out, no matter how many times I turned it back and forth with the white tool that comes with the new cartridge.. I tried with all my might to lift it out and wasted about a half hour struggling to get it to budge but it wasn’t having it. So I got my vice grips and gripped the stem tight, with the side of the vice grips facing the ceiling., and the other side facing the ground. Next I tapped it with my hammer a few times and that did the trick, out she came so easily. My wife was watching me and was sure the plumber would need to come and save me, but no, this time I prevailed. Also, the black rings on the handle assembly was broken in mine into 2 pieces, I didn’t break it, the piece was already broken. I thought for sure that was going to mess things up, but I put it back together with that plastic part in 2 pieces and it worked fine. The job is done and all is well. Whenever you watch these videos, something always goes wrong and it’s not addressed in the video, you have to improvise. This video was excellent and I could not have done the job without it. Thank you
Boy, I sure wish I had found this video BEFORE repairing my faucet! Unfortunately, I didn't know the part number, and I searched for varying versions of "Moen single handle leaking kitchen faucet repair." The Moen site was useless! I couldn't remove the cartridge, so I ordered the part I THOUGHT it was based on the top view. Finally figured these things out, but it took multiple searches over several days, plus hours of trial and error, including getting the hot/cold reversed during reassembly.
This is the best video for the Moen Integra faucet. That black piece has a tendency to break, but this video makes it so easy to replace. For some reason, I have reversed the hot and cold so I'll have to check to see what I did wrong. Thanks!
Patrick, you could even invite your wife to watch, then offer to pause and play this amazing TH-cam ...WHILE YOUR WIFE REPAIRS THE FAUCET. I am 71 ....and FEMALE.
great video for sure and thanks ,just would add that a good silicone grease used liberally would help those seals for sure and could add a bit of blue loctite on allen cap screw would add some peace of mind
I used this video because my white Moen faucet was turning yellow and really looked bad. So I decided I had nothing to lose by trying to paint the two bad sections (the plastic parts). I needed to know exactly how to put it back together. I used white auto paint for moldings and bumpers and it turned out very nice. I don't know if those parts will yellow again but I can always paint them again!! Thanks so much for your knowledge.
Make sure before installing the cartridge the vent hole on the stem is at 6 o’clock along with the cartridge ears which also should be at 12 and 6 o’clock. Other wise the faucet will only have hot or cold, not both. FYI
Excellent, he mentions to make sure the notch at the top of the stem is facing forward, this corresponds with the hole in the stem, which I’m guessing is the vent hole?
At 9:10 it says that mineral deposits may make removal of the old cartridge “a little more difficult”. This may be the understatement of the century. Fortunately, there is a device specifically designed to remove Moen cartridges you can get at the hardware store. I highly recommend having one available. You can always leave it in the package and return it if you don’t need it, but when I did this there was NO way I was getting the cartridge out without the tool.
Rachel Bingham There is a trick some old codger showed me on another video. You need to use either some fairly blunt needle nose pliers or two screw drivers acting as such. Place them so that they are touching those two opposite tabs the cartridge ring and move them clockwise and then counterclockwise, so that the entire cartridge gradually becomes loose (not just the center stem). After moving it back and forth for a little while grip the stem and lift cartridge out-it should have unstuck the mineral deposits; I did this and it got me through a big show stopper
Thanks for pointing out the notch on the cartridge shaft.... I had the hot/cold flow reversed ... and then I saw this. I wish that MOEN would etch their name on their products.. it took an hour of internet searching to discover that I had a MOEN faucet.
Excellent video! I just replaced the cartridge and now there is a leak at the base. Could this be because the pivot retainer isn't tight enough? I don't think I saw any o-rings....
Great vid. Followed steps and installed new cartridge. No more leak. Only thing is, now, unless the tap is up and on full blast, it starts to slowly lower itself until it’s almost stopped the water. Any suggestions as to why this is happening? Thanks again.
Did you put that little metal washer in? I heard the ex-plumber, now Tap salesperson at the Home Despot talk about that issue. The weight of the tap shuts off the tap. That's what the metal Stainless Steel flat washer is for I heard him say.
Great video. Everything went exactly as depicted. Faucet no longer leaks but the new problem is the handle won't hold up (in the on position) by itself. This happens at any water temp position from full cold to full hot. Any ideas?
make sure you tighten down (screw down) the philips bolt in middle of cartridge. it has to be tight (20:05) or handle will pop up the handle adapter and handle will be loose
This is a great video! I am having issues because my retainer nut is still screwed into the housing when I removed. How can I separate the two so that I can line up the retainer nut? It won't line up correctly with them together and I don't have any tricks up my sleeve.
Great video. But do you have one for removing the Orings below where the cartridge is located for this model faucet? Mine leaks there. Anyone?? Thanks in advance.
Does Moen have special tool for @ 8:15 for removing the old cartridge. I don't mean the plastic piece but another tool? I think they do at least for cartridge 1222 cartridge. I think the tool would also work for this.
The home stores have an aftermarket remover witch seems to work very well for a stuck cartridge as I seen in a video just before I found this one . Looks like the way I`m going to go when I do mine.
mine is having an issue with the water stopping automatically when in use usually when the handle is lifted all the way up. it started when the screw holding the handle on sheared but after i bought a kit to fix that it still did it. what is causing this wierd problem we dont have any leaking issue just this one of it shutting itself off? is it the cartridge that i need to replace?
This video saved my day - I had the whole faucet apart and was frustrated watching a couple other videos - what worked for me with this video was the slow pace, the detail of instruction, and the clear, in-focus visuals showing what each part looked like. Great job!

What an excellent instructional video. In my haste I was following Moen's instructions resulting in wasting an hour. TY

This is an outstanding how-to-do-it video. It perfectly captures every step of the process, assuring a successful installation.
I literally could not have done this job without the guidance of this excellent video. Thank you!
Holy crap. Best instruction ever. I know little about plumbing but i followed this step by step and its like a new faucet...unbelievable. Thanks!
Super nice video. All little details and steps are well explained while other videos don't. Excellent work! Thank you.
Outstanding! I tried repeatedly to put the faucet back together step by step with other videos, but nothing helped. The faucet still wouldn’t work right! Thanks for this video. It has been the most comprehensive one I've viewed to date.
Excellent! I called Moen & they sent me the free parts to fix my 7600 series, got this video going, and everything was a breeze! Thank you SO MUCH!!
This tutorial was excellent. Never would have been able to fix my faucet without it. Thanks Moen!
It is by far...the best video for this task! Thanks Mike Glass!
I wish all instructional videos were this good.
Thanks moen for having such a crucial mechanism made out of plastic
Excellent Video. We have hard water lots of minerals I used baking soda with the tooth brush to clean the inside of the faucet for the new cartridge. Also needed to use a very large pair of channel locks to get the cartridge out but the video was Excellent.

Easy peasy after watching this video. The twisting tool worked great to loosen the cartridge.
Excellent step by step instruction at a pace easy to follow, thorough details, great video quality. A very good example for how-to videos.
This is the most informative video I've ever seen. Thank you so much!
Wonderful video. I followed it step by step. I did by a cartridge pull device for $6 and that helped. I now feel confident doing more faucets
where at and what part number?
Thank you very much. I followed you step by step and changed my MOEN. Perfect job, explain very patiently and carefully. I appreciate your help very much.

Lifesaver video and very well done. Thank you!
Great video. I needed to know how to replace the cartridge and this helped a ton
Your video is extremely helpful and made the handle replacement for my kitchen faucet a breeze. Thanks a lot 😀
Best tip was to pause and rewind, never thought of that...
Great video, I like all the small details and quality. Thank you so much, very helpful.
This just saved my life thank you for this video!!
Thanks a million! Well organized, just what I needed!

Fine work... this was the perfect video for this novice.
excellent presentation. helped complete this project easily.
very good company and and nice video
Very good video. Precise and detail. Thank you!
Great video, thank you, did not have to call anyone for help!!
Thank you for this video and all the detail you provided. It helped very much. Including, what tools would be needed in advance of doing the job.
The best video... Thanks.
Excellent video! I just replaced the cartridge and now there is a leak at the base. Could this be because the pivot retainer isn't tight enough? I don't think I saw any o-rings....
Thank you for your beautifully made video.
this video helped so much . thank you for the way you presented the information!!
There are two extra parts (white o ring) on top of the Allen wrench shown at 0:59 and grey round nut on top of the picture. What are those for?
Very very nice video excellent work good product
Thank you nice step procedures
Excellent instructional video.
The best video Thanks

Where does the large white O-ring go? See 1:05 of the video.
great video, really helped out a first timer in need.

Perfect! Just what I needed!!
This is a great video! I am having issues because my retainer nut is still screwed into the housing when I removed. How can I separate the two so that I can line up the retainer nut? It won't line up correctly with them together and I don't have any tricks up my sleeve.
Perfect! Thank you so much!
I had a problem with this faucet, I did not want to over tighten the plastic parts, you know they are fragile. Thanks to your exposure I could fix it.
do you first need to turn off the water from under the sink?
Jim, I think that's the first thing he showed.
Thank You, it worked out well for me!
Does it take a while for the water pressure to build up after you turn the water on again?
So helpful, thank you!
Great video. But do you have one for removing the Orings below where the cartridge is located for this model faucet? Mine leaks there. Anyone?? Thanks in advance.
This was a great help.
The screw was completely stripped at 5:00 LOL. You guys probably had to break out a replacement or use a screw extractor after the cut.
Excellently done! Tx a million
Great video n was very helpful
thanks :)
The Adapter is attached together with the handle that’s not movable. How can I separate them?
Does Moen have special tool for @ 8:15 for removing the old cartridge. I don't mean the plastic piece but another tool? I think they do at least for cartridge 1222 cartridge. I think the tool would also work for this.
The home stores have an aftermarket remover witch seems to work very well for a stuck cartridge as I seen in a video just before I found this one . Looks like the way I`m going to go when I do mine.
Great video. I installed the cartridge on my kitchen faucet with the "plug button" handle. But now the faucet slowly turns itself off. Any advice?
Moen, your warranty is excellent, thanks, but why aren't you looking at this (your) TH-cam video for question's like Don G's and Jeff M's?
I suspect it has something to do with that wavy washer? mine is split now, where can I get another one without buying a whole handle assembly.
Way late for this but may help someone else. I had the same problem and tightening the center philips head screw fixed it.
What do I do if I can’t remove the screw? It will not budge?
mine is having an issue with the water stopping automatically when in use usually when the handle is lifted all the way up. it started when the screw holding the handle on sheared but after i bought a kit to fix that it still did it. what is causing this wierd problem we dont have any leaking issue just this one of it shutting itself off? is it the cartridge that i need to replace?
No silicone grease?
Thank you!!!!
