    That drummer is insanely good! The way he accentuates notes on the hi hat, how he plays ghost notes and rim shots on the snare. How he plays these fast bass drum kicks. He makes a hell lot out of a simple drum set with only hi hat, bass drum snare and ride.

    It is CRIMINAL that this man isn't more popular. This song and video are iconic alone, but the fact is that this man doesn't seem to make a SINGLE bad song, nor a song where he isn't going ham on the mic. This is literally what so many people ask for in modern hip hop, but nobody shows up to listen 😩

      @TupacShakurr 7 ปีที่แล้ว +40

      Lamzy whites get killed more than blacks according to fbi stats. that's cause they're more whites than blacks. Just cause a rapper says something doesn't mean it's always true. ALL LIVES MATTER

    • @RecliningWhale
      @RecliningWhale 7 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      The funny thing is, he's right, we aren't adjacent. Just not in the way he was implying. As you correctly pointed out, whites are killed more often than blacks are.

    • @Humili7y
      @Humili7y 7 ปีที่แล้ว +116

      +Pac +Pac +Pac All Lives do matter, but white people as a whole have rarely been treated in a way that would tell them their lives don't matter. People of color in the United States haven't been treated as well as whites have (this is coming from a white dude btw)
      The stats that Oddisee is mentioning is that black people are MORE OFTEN mistreated. As you said, there are more whites killed (by who/what?) than blacks, but that's due to whites making up over 60% of the population, while blacks are merely 14%. But when using those numbers, you can find that blacks are more often mistreated/killed at the hands of cops than whites are, not just off of the amounts, but the percentages of the total population that they make up

      They actually already done it a while ago since JCole was a great fan of Rock Creek Park Oddisee's album and the song has been canceled since (with Kendrick Lamar as guest also). You can easily find interview about this on it. Since then not confirmed but too much ego from Cole resulted in aborting the project. The worse of all being J Cole stealing his flow in Born Sinner. It seems incredible but pretty much believable if you hear both People Hear What They See and Born Sinner at the time this is literally Oddisee flow but with less mastery

      Well, the Rap itself is just Conscious Rap, which is almost as old as the party hyping and shout-outs that MC's started out with when Hip Hop first formed as a genre. The music gives me really great, oldschool Roots vibes, though - something special for sure !

      BriRealiLL The album I would start with is People Hear What They See! But Oddisee is also known as a super talented producer and has many albums with just beats. For that I would start with The Beauty In All!

      You definitely need to check out "The Good Fight" I personally think is his best so far. "Iceberg" (recent album) i think comes in next. "People Hear What They See" is also great. But don't forget about his instrumental albums (my favorite "Rock Creek Park"). A lot but good place to start.

      BriRealiLL
      "tangible dream"
      "Killing time"
      "Back of my mind"
      "Own appeal"
      "Belong to the world"
      "After thoughts"
      After listening to these fine songs, you'll definitely become an Oddisee fan.
