Even in these northern parts, the sun does shine from time to time! How else would we have palm trees growing along the shores of the Solway Firth? The birds were obviously in a cheerful mood that day too. Let's hope summer is on the way, at long last.
@@schoolshorts Makes we want to open up my boxes of scale models that I’ve collected for decades but are waiting for retirement. My first steam engine that I ever got and still have is a cast metal, hand painted Wrenn model of City of Stoke on Trent.
Nice video. Lovely to see the Midland Pullman in all its glory. One day in the future, maybe all trains in the UK will once again be in this splendidly understated livery. I wouldn't say no to the interiors of the Midland Pullman being a model for long distance train travel either! I can't be doing with nearly four hours of claustrophobic airline-style seating in the Avanti Pendolinos to London. Next year there will be a Grand Union service to London from Stirling and Carlisle, which might be an improvement, who knows? It should give you something else interesting to film, at any rate.😀
The Pendolinos are OK if you can get a table seat with a window. On my last trip to London they gave me a seat up against a bare metal wall - I 'd have been better off flying. From a passenger point of view the IC125s were as good as they came. Living in Berkshire in the 1970s I used them a lot - lovely trains and they've given great service.
A long day for you to get the Blue Pullman HST returning. It was good you got to Appleby for Tangmere, looks like they repaired the stuck cylinder cock. I had a good day out but it was pretty cold all day and a little rain later on.
Thanks Colin. We were certainly blessed with a glorious day. Bi haven't had a chance to view your video yet - but am looking forward to it. Best wishes.
It was a very good video especially the steam train twice and the Pullman I have never been to Carlisle station before but it seems to be getting a lot of trains
Having that I am going to the uk in September to visit my older brother for a few days they stay in West Sussex in England. question for you have you neme valley steam trains centre it’s near Cambridge but it’s worth going to I haven’t been for a long time
Have you been to Aviemore railway station when they have their special Christmas trains going it’s a normally a steam train like the flying Scot’s man or something like that it might make a good video for you Tim
I have been going to West Sussex for a long time but the countryside is nothing like as good as what you get in Scotland 🏴 but they do get the warm weather in that part of the uk
@@FraserWest-um4ue I'll bear it in mind although, once again, it's a long way from my home. I'll be 80 next year and the days are gone when I enjoyed long distance driving.
Yes having that it’s a good place for filming steam trains especially with the blue bell railway line going to outside London and it goes all the way to shepherds park park and it’s all steam trains but they are all different from each other I have done it before and it was definitely worth it Tim
Great footage of the trains and my nephew appears at 13:13 waiting for Tangmere. 👍🏻
He was in a good position to view it - and the station wasn't as desperately crowded as it can sometimes be.
@@schoolshortshe has a knack for finding the quieter spots. He planned to go there knowing my favourite class of steam loco was going to show up.
Lovely to see one of your vlogs when it is NOT raining! … You have captured the day very well, withy the bird sounds just adding to the ambience… 😀

You’re a braver man than I going into any pub in Carlisle on a Saturday night… done it once, never again! 🏴
It was only teatime - the lively stuff comes a bit later!
Really enjoyed the panoramic view on such a sunny Spring day. The blue pullman was pretty awesome - looked like a scale model when viewed from above.
It does look a bit "toy train" like from the air, doesn't it. Rather an expensive toy to ride in though!

Good aerial filming again Tim and good to see her storm through Appleby. 17hr day, you must be keen!👍
Was rather hoping she'd stop for water in Appleby - the drone can't keep up with a 60mph train!
Keen? Insane, more like.
A long but fruitful day, good captures for your fan club 👍
Thanks britboy. I'm getting a bit long in the tooth for these ultra-long days but I'll keep going as long as I can.

@@schoolshorts No worries Tim it will be there when you have time to watch.

Thank you - you'll have to arrange a visit to Carlisle one of these days - preferably a day with plenty of steam activity.
Yes I am not often in the uk now as I moved to Spain last September
a quick question for you did get your keys back or not because you had lost them at some point when filming the steam train at a different station.

I'm afraid that's rather a long way from my home in Scotland and I've never been there.
