    To the final design, you could maybe add a "duplicant prison/isolation room" for some bad guests in the hotel, the room could have the most negative decor value you can accomplish! We always try to max out the decor, but what about the negative one? :D

    He called at the block of CO2 as if it was an animal to be called over. Way too funny. Good video as always.

    For the glossy drecko ranch I normally make a stable of 9 tile wide with 2 separate room. It's way more tidy and completely automated. You just need to sheer the drecko.
    The bottom room (9x5) : 8 mealwood with cooling, a ladder and 1 auto-sweeper to pick the phosphorite up and to fertilize the mealwood.
    The upper room (9x5-6) : grooming and sheering station, critter drop-off and an autosweeper to pick the rest of the phosphorite up.

    9:39 the moment i realized why he wasnt having more pressing issues with gas management in his dupe headquarters. good times. im following along, with some edits, but my main dupe base is almost tile for tile the one you did an its on the same seed. Also, i disconnected my o2 production from main power a long time ago. notice you actually did too, but i think yours was an accident as you still have the joint place in there uglying up the place :)

    drecko farms are more easy to maintain if you build them high not wide,means 9X11,at bottom 6 meal-lice (enough for full farm) one farm tile between the meallice for cooling with weeze in early game. above the plant 1tile space for automation then tiles for grooming- and shearing station.

    Im a little confused about needing pincha peppers, glossy drecko can be ranched just fine with mealwood and in fact they get the most satiation from mealwood plants. They don't actually eat the meal lice but they chomp on the mealwood plants. So I think the way you set up the stable is just fine! In my setup I also included an overflow room with a shearing station to trap the excess drecko eggs in, so that I could get even more reed fiber and plastic. My ranches are actually "just" normal dreckos, and I get enough glossy drecklet eggs from two ranches that the overflow room is pumping out tons of plastic. I think I'm over 140T of plastic after a hundred or 150 cycles which is more than I will ever need, and over 400 reed fibers.

      For mealwood you need a cooling system, because dreckos produce heat. And pincha peppers love heat

      @justincapalbo6938 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@reccinto That's a decent point, I never really considered that. I guess the only issue then is that the pinchas do suck up a lot of water compared to what I feel like is a relatively easy plant to feed (mealwood) if you are ranching some pips. So it might come down to preference. In my save personally, I feed mealwood with pip ranches and just use my cooling loop to keep the ranch and the overflow shearing area at an acceptable temp. Ofc. one could always conceive of a drecko ranch that uses wild plants to make this largely a moot point.

    When making the steam room for the aquatuner room, I dont bother vaccuming out but just put an air vent in the roof and the steam then pushes the gases out and means only steam is in the room! Once done replace the air vent with a normal insulated tile again!!

    "High gas pressure vent" love it 😅

    My Glossy Farm has 20 Drecos in a room with only the top tile filled with Hydrogen and 8 mealwood plants. They spend most the time walking on the ceiling.. Made over 70 tons of plastic already..

    OOOFFF that is a lot of power for aqua tunners. I think the ratio is 2 steam turbines per aqua tunner on water or 3 turbines per aqua tunner on super coolant.

    For Dirt Generation: Now that you have Dreckos, you'll have phosphorite!
    My base has an industrial Hot Brick of Fertz Synthesizers, just hot enough to auto-cook the Fertilizer into dirt. Half gets fed back into the Synth, but the other half of the dirt can get shipped out as Output, for Mealwood/Wheat/Hatches.
    Phosphorite: -26 g/s
    Polluted Water: -39 g/s
    Into
    Dirt: 55 g/s
    Natural Gas: 10 g/s
    This is much more efficient than boiling Polluted Water for Dirt!

  • @drunken7634
    @drunken7634 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    For the dirt you could evaporate polluted water or make a pip farm, they poop dirt

  • @justincapalbo6938
    @justincapalbo6938 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If you're worried about dirt, maybe ranching some pips could be good? Not sure which planetoid has the arbor trees

    • @fuzzypumpkin7743
      @fuzzypumpkin7743 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can also use thimblereeds. That's what I normally do. Put some pips in a room with natural tiles, let them plant some thimblereed, and then put a station in an unplanted spot to tame them. I don't like use polluting power, so I really don't have use for the trees.

  • @natashashark85

    Dumping polluted water into a hot room will give you steam and dirt, if you build a small L shape over your access so the opening goes downward, the hydrogen will fill that and push everything out. Polluted water to dirt needs a hydro sensor and thermostat to close the water off. Steam turbine runs its water someplace else, cool it for a farm maybe

    I really hate how a room can only have a max of 120 decor (or sy last that's all the dupes take in), but negative can stack nearly unlimited. Not fair. 😡 anyways, great episode as always😊

    • @MarkkuS
      @MarkkuS ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It can be more, 120 is the max the dupe can have (12 morale). The room can have unlimited decor. Game then calculates how much decor the dupes absorb during the day and that gives the dupe decor number.

    Hi Nathan,
    would you be intrested in seeing blueprint of my plastic drecko ranch and maybe valideting the idea Ihad for it?

  • @sinofusall2080
    @sinofusall2080 ปีที่แล้ว

    glossy dreckos are fine with mealwood, combining the 2 farms is a bit tedious though, your better off to run the drecko/pacu setup with hydrogen n dioxide, my last run i combined the 2 with a bristle blossom ranch and cooled it all down with a cool slush as it passed to the refiner

    • @sinofusall2080

    Is it still true that you're better off using normal ceramic tile instead of insulated igneous ?

    • @cryops
      @cryops ปีที่แล้ว

      No, normal tiles worse than insulated in terms of stopping heat spread no matter what materials used. Insulated tile have thermal conductivity modifier, smt about 0.01 of normal tile and on top of that uses another formula for heat conduction

    Why would you just cook that cobalt volcano down instead of using it as a steam room/energy source?

    • @matthewparsons7497
      @matthewparsons7497 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like I understand there was a melting issue with the gold volcano, but after heating the water enough the issue resolved, and wolframite is harder to melt than steel

      I wanted to try a more centralized system, transferring the heat over to the main steam room.
