Although me and my kids started playing a few years before guardians rising, that was the first season we went competitive. I appreciate these memories you're conjuring up. I'll never forget my oldest son and I going to out first big tournament, just after guardians rising. And seeing nothing but a sea of lele and garbodor. The gyarados deck was one of my favorite decks of all time just in terms of how fun it was to play.

What I left out the script was I played lurantis bulu and got absolutely wrecked by a vika bulu haha! Definitely knew from then the right way to play bulu 😂

i started going competitive again around the Sun and Moon Base set, after attending the sun and moon base set pre-release. throughout the whole season i used Mega Rayquaza comboed with sky field for massive damage! it was a fun time. I then switched over to Alolan Ninetales/ Zoroark GX, and when Buzzwole GX became legal, i spent the entire time that Buzzwole was legal, playing that with cards like Lycanrock GX and baby Buzzwole, that could get some nice ohkos depending on the prize trade
I'll never forget my standard lycanroc zoroark deck with Alolan Muk that went 43-0 in it's run time. Even using tool cards to boost HP by 40 at the time was crazy as 200 was the average and I was sitting at 250 while taking away basic abilities and hitting for 120-150 a turn. And blood thirsty eyes plus Guzma was gross. Plus acerola to prevent a KO and the banned marshadow and a ditto prism? Best deck I ever played. Had a counter for every deck in standard at the time. Perfection
Fun fact: The first tournament I won was a local of the Pokémon League because at the moment the store was doing a doubles tournament and 2 of us didn't have team. I played Miraidon vs Dragapult, 1 round, 1 prize pack, and only 1 winner. I'm still happy, but I kinda feel like a cheater because my oponent was younger than me (I'm 15, the boy was 10) so I give him a Play! Pokémon water energy for his Chien-Pao ex (PAL) deck. P.D: Great video, I love the quality!
Personally, I enjoy most if not all of your videos, however personally I really do think these ‘history’ like videos are really enjoyable and different to what I see other Pokémon tcg TH-camrs post.
@@BurtsPTCG it’s alright, thanks for what I think was a super high quality and enjoyable video(I think most if not all of your other videos are great too btw) but I just personally feel that with this type of video it’s, from what I’ve seen, done less, more uncommon than videos like deck profile videos etc.(not that I think they are bad, I personally think they are good and enjoy most if not all of them). This is all just my opinion btw and I respect and accept anyone else’s opinion, view,judgement or anything of the like!
You should do “the strongest 5 Pokémon of every type”, I feel like it would be a good video that could help a lot of new players build their decks if they don’t know what Pokémon to use.

i have a play question, can i play birdkeeper as example to my active intelleon and change it with a benched sobble (sobble has the air ballon) and then draw 3 cards with birdkeeper and change back to my inteleon, because the airballon in one turn? thanks in advance

I think you made the correction already in the edit, but for anyone who got sidetracked or for anyone new to the game, the Garbodor with the Garbotoxin ability was in the BREAKPoint set, not the BREAKThrough set.

If u really want to use artwork sleeves i would recommend using overseeves to protect them!
