- This is a very special episode....
After leaving Erbil and heading off on our tour around Kurdistan Iraq, the first stop was at Lalish Temple, the most holy place for the Yazidi religion. Oh boy, we did not expect the day that unfolded!
Upon arriving, we were soon invited to join a family for a gorgeous lunch of traditional food. After eating way too much, we were given a tour of the entire temple and got the unique opportunity to learn first hand about this fascinating religion and observe and even participate in their practices. It was truly amazing. Everyone was so kind, warm, and welcoming and wanted photos with them and of them - they loved the camera haha.
Then we were honoured to be invited to stay with the family we had lunch with. Although they are from humble means, they treated us like family, gave us as much food as we could eat, took us out for drinks and shisha, and would accept nothing in return. So incredible.
Thank you so much to Darweesh, Jelal, and their whole family for the hospitality - we are so grateful and honoured to have met you all.

I’m a Yazidi myself but was born and raised in Erbil. I’m so happy more people and are recognizing my religion. It’s so heartwarming. I hope you enjoyed your trip to Lalish.

I really like your videos. And I think it's a shame that there aren't more subscribers to your channel.
Now I have shared the last video on twitter, and hope more will come to your TH-cam channel.
Thank you very much, Michael! 😊

Thank you 🙏
As a non Yezidi Kurd I feel closest to my Yezidi sisters and brother more than the contaminated Muslim Kurds in Kurdistan
Your videos are not only great but also important!
Thank you for bringing us stories that are not being told elsewhere. Perhaps they are, and it is just my own ignorance of this part of the world. Either way, thank you.
Dave
