@@shnickly0819 I’m not computer savvy at all but so far I haven’t had any issues. I did some research & you actually download games from Steam directly to an external drive if you want as well. I already had the game downloaded but I moved 19 to my external to test it out & it worked fine. Since then I moved as much as I could over to it to relieve some stress off my machine.
I have a question. My gaming pc has a regular hdd fs22 is installed on. I have a 5tb ssd external drive. Will this work smoothly putting the mods folder on the bigger ssd drive?
@EZ_Klaps thank you! I will...I can do it, but before I went to the trouble, was looking to see if it was worth it. I am a "mod-a-holic"...lol. would be fantastic to have a lot of mods that would access swiftly and not slow my game down!
I have fs17 but its the same thing I got a new ssd and reinstaled my game on it but the mods also had to moved to the drive so I did that and none of them showed in the game because I didnt know it has a setting that says in wich map are the mods I thought all the files had to be in one map for it to work
Thanks, Just started playing and when I realized the mods were going to my "C" drive, I was slightly nervous, as I have a 2T gaming drive just for stuff like this With the DLCs and expansions along with the mods, my mod folder hit 3 gig quickly. I always look for your channel name when I have questions about FS22. Clear and concise instructions go a long way in my book.
Thanks for the tutorial FC. Any advice for missing mods when starting up the game? I watched most of the tutorials on here, and none of them actually work for me. I play on PC as well. TIA 😊 🙏
When I do this, step by step, my game doesn't launch or and says it stopped responding. Please help me i have been trying to figure this out forever and followed multiple tutorials with no luck. However if I change it back to the basic false/temp setting it boots just fine.
what type of computer do you use? or what are your specs? i just have a dell xps purchased through costco. is that good enough? i normally play on PS5, but thinking about playing on PC also.
Ok I have tried your way of moving my mods folder and the game won't load just crashes but works fine when using the stock location on C drive...already tried uninstall and reinstall and then doing it, also tried using sub folder inside main mod folder, tried true tried false tried changing a couple of xml, this is my 14th time of reinstall and validation of game files......what am I missing? I hope you see this, currently bingeing the frontier series
@@FarmerCop got it figured out, had to load the mods in blocks of 25 for all 900+ mods and also had to put the mods folder in a subfolder since I have several different folders named mods on bulk storage drive
For me the game has not opened up since doing the steps in this tutorial. I'm pretty sure i did everything just exactly as you showed so it shouldn't be that i messed it up. Is it possible that since i have over 2000 files in the mod folder it takes ages for the game to fire up now that mods are in a different location or does it matter? The game literally freezes and does no effort to start up after moving the mods to my D drive.
Great video, but every time I try to move the folder to my D drive instead of my C drive where it originally was it just crashes the game every time I launch it. Any ideas
Sounds like you set a default setting to open all documents as an html through Edge. You can change that by going to start - settings - apps - default apps. There you can change the default apps for each action.
@@glazedonutfarms I managed to get mine working, I had to uninstall the game and reinstall it, then created a new folder with all the mods in it then did the xml edit and then moved the mods to the directed folder with the mods folder inside it....if that makes sense

I downloaded everything onto an external hard drive. Saved me a lot of space.
So it is possible to have them on an external?

Thanks for the help. I wish I didn't suck at this stuff..
Thank you Chief #TutorialHype
Cheers FC, now I can get away with putting “A Few” mods on the farm computer while my laptop is getting fixed
You just saved me thank you
U rock bro! Easiest tutorial ever. Is it pretty much the same for FS 19? Thanks for ur help.
Yes and I have a video specific to FS19 regarding this as well but should be almost the same :)
This saved my c drive. Poor tiny boot drive. The game should automatically make all that junk go in where the game is actually installed
Does this work for farm sim 19 also? Need to get all of the mods off my ssd I use for my operating system.
Yes and I have a video specific to FS19 out as well :)
So Kermit actually plays Farming Simulator.

Thanks bro!

Thank you this helps a lot...but is it possible to have them on flash drive? Just curious
Has to be on a PC drive
Great video and info
I cutted the folder and changed the text in gamesettings but the game stucks at loading screen.
how i can download mods in multiplayer please help. I have my mods in single player but in multiplayer no
I don't know, but I wonder if the host server needs to load all mods so everyone can see or use them? Just guessing.
Awesome!
Very informative and a great way to use empty space.
Hopefully one day my videos can be as popular as yours.
I can’t find setting in the game folder I clicked on it and it just brings me to the game

Having that many mods, depending on the PC, could cause a lot of issues and for the game to run slow or not at all regardless of the folder location
thx so much
what notepad should i get to do this, i have no idea
Anyone will work, I use wordpad which is installed on most computers already
Great video, but every time I try to move the folder to my D drive instead of my C drive where it originally was it just crashes the game every time I launch it. Any ideas
I'm having same issue....any updates on if you found a fix
how do i get my whole game to a different drive
You have to reinstall it and select the new drive you wabt it installed on
How do we do that if the game settings is a Microsoft Edge HTML Document? SMH
It should be some form of document, try opening it with wordpad or another word editor or just try editing it on that
Sounds like you set a default setting to open all documents as an html through Edge.
You can change that by going to start - settings - apps - default apps. There you can change the default apps for each action.
It’s so easy and yet I am too lazy to change it.
ive watched and looked over everything over and over and everything is right and fs22 wont load anymore
You're better off moving the entire document folder to your bigger disk

Make sure you are opening the file in something that is a word editor not just as a read only document of some kind
Can I do it on Xbox?
No this only works on PC

I recently tested this and it still works for me, not sure why it wont work for you. Make sure the XML file was edited and saved correctly
