You guys pretty much summed it up. I have experienced it personally...moving cattle from northeast TX to northeast OR, then to NM. Issac described the situation perfectly.
I might add a couple of things. First, introducing cows, especially older cows to mob grazing can often be disappointing. They don't deal with the stress of the higher density very well.
Second, when moving cattle from South and East to North and West your calf birth weights will significantly increase. Two reasons..."stronger" (more nutrient dense) grass and more extended colder weather if calving in early spring (vets believe it is due to more blood supply being "drawn" into the body core and thus feeding the fetus more.
