Whoever that is playing as scorpion is a very patient player. He was pump faking alot of attacks to get you to react to miss the actual attack. That's very impressive
Was good only annoying thing was he never finished out combos that put out a lot of dmg. Each player to their own playstyle, but he was essentially giving up free dmg.

Typical high level play never revolves around spamming high frame recovery moves, his use of those risky moves like you said were sparse just to keep Liu honest in his defense imo. In gameplay philosophy the Scorpion plays like a Street Fighter Karin. He's fishing a lot with low jab and maintains a good mid range distance for counter/punish opportunities, great match. The Liu used jab to throw effectively and punished whenever the Scorpion went for a low negative recover combo starter.

I dont know if he is playing professionally.. but if he doesn't and he competes with some pros and gains experience he will be very dangerous in tournaments

This is probably the best variation of Scorpion, while his overall damage might be lower than other variations, you do give up a lot of potential slips with the Death Spear Kombo getting blocked and forcing combos with Hell port that’ll get you punished, misery blade offers new ways to cancel Scorpion’s combos and more frustrating for the opponent to defend against. You play more strategically and expand your knowledge of the game more, I feel.

Me being a scorpion player since I was 9 I am super impressed. He is a great opponent and doesn’t taunt or show off. He actually knows how to play the character and he is constant. Love Scorpion player like that 🙌

He could have cancelled and amplified the Misery blade on his "Inner Demon" combo to confuse you (afterimage is produced) and get a better chance of getting a full combo. Still, good scorpion player!

Any trained Scorpion knows that their 1 bar (teleport) fatal blow combo does the same damage as a 2 bar (teleport + chain) fatal blow combo. He just wasted one bar there 1:37
I like to think I'm a good scorpion player, but I do use teleportation a lot. And it's very rare that I use mystery blade. So this guy is the real deal.
wait so what is the most popular scorp variation for mk11? im pretty sure it was ninjutsu for mkx but im not sure for 11, either way i use hellish inferno just because i like the moves and i can make them flow really well together without being predictable
