I love this. I picked up a 2006 Cannondale Rush that I love. It’s my favorite bike and everyone tells me I’m wasting my time fixing it up. I hate how people ridicule a person for loving a Vintage bike better than the newer bikes.
I love the chill vibe with these build videos. I bet there's loads of 'normal' footage got edited out, like scraping knuckles and rounded out-bolt heads that won't come out. You know, like the rest of us when we're building and restoring :D Great vids!
So good, I've been binging on your bike build videos, the best I've come across honestly. You just seem like such a chill guy and your mechanical skills look effortless
@@CowboyTomi Your style has definitely inspired me to work on my bike instead of bringing it to the shop for simple repairs, keep up the builds. I'm looking forward to a new one!
@@CowboyTomi I've watched all of your builds and will be patiently awaiting your next one! Watching your builds has definitely inspired me to work on my own bike instead of always bringing to the LBS
Love resurrecting old bikes! Just a quick tool tip: at 2:57 that ball end on your hex wrench is for threading in/out loose fasteners - using it to torque or break free a fastener is going to end up in a broken wrench or stripped fasteners eventually. not recommended to use it that way.
I think I've learned more about bikes from your videos than from any other source. Lovely craftsmanship, even though I was a bit sceptical about the choice of colour the bike turned out amazing. Keep the vids coming my guy
I was legit excited when I saw the notification that you uploaded a new vid. I stay off real trails but this build was clean and inspiring! wonderful work as always friend, giddy up!
Amazing build man. Sucks that you couldn't restore the fox shock. Maybe could have tracked down a new old-stock rebuild kit but with the dent in the cylinder and the hassle to find the seal kit, I think you made the right choice in going with a newer model. I hope she brings you as much joy as I got from watching you build it.

You're awesome, man. I've loved watching your videos. I just bought a late 90s Raleigh Mountain Bike for $30 from facebook marketplace. I'm looking forward to overhauling it 🤙
Sup boy! 👊Respect from South Africa 🇿🇦 love the sound of bike maintenance... Appreciate that you mixed it up with some grass cutting for a while. Lol.. That headset does look really smooth. Great build overall, maybe should have put a dropper post..but then would have to be external routing... Not ideal.
I like your style man, really fun to watch. "Enjoy the sounds of bike Maintenance" LMFAO! As a new bike mechanic/find them on the side of the road and fix them addict, I had a couple of questions: I like how you edit the vids with voice over and no yip yap along the way. Before a restoration video project do you have some sort of idea in your mind about its composition, or do you just take care of all that in the editing process? Did you start off with a big blob of all those Park Tool's, or have they been acquired over time? Thanks again I'll be watching! (Subscribed)
Thanks! Yeah I come up with the things that need to be said during the editing. I try not to say too much otherwise it'll interrupt the work being done to the bike. I've acquired the tools over time as I'm working on bikes that need a specific tool.
What was the shock length you used in the build? I just bought a bare frame and I read in the comments what happened with the one you used. I *think* its supposed to be 165mm/6.5" but not sure.
Bro that shock tilted out your whole geometry. Does those brakes even work after spraying them with WD40? Do the seals even hold oil and don't let air get in?
@@noelsmith1852 i ended up taking this bike apart after some miles and installed all the parts on a hardtail - check out my latest video for more details!!
Really nice build, but it looks to me like that newer fox shock is too long and is messing up the geometry a lot. Steep angles and crazy high bb. Also I may be totally wrong, but I thought most fox shocks of that era had pretty standard seals as long as you had the right stantion diameter. That might just be forks though, because I rebuilt a 2004 fox vanilla fork with a modern 32mm stantion kit and bought some new seals for the early 2000s float shock I have on the back that I haven’t gotten around to putting on yet. Regardless great video and looks like a fun bike.
Sorry for my bad translation, because you do not lubricate all the screws and because you do not use a torque meter to reassemble, greetings from Leon Guanajuato Mexico

7075 aluminum Chris King headsets and 7000 series aluminum Thomson seatposts and stems 🤘🤘
I'm pretty sure you can get aftermarket seals for that Fox Float. Hopefully you didn't throw it away.

Maybe less yip yap is the first place to start...lol
Is the eye to eye rear shock measurement correct, looks wrong to me
Beats me, I just installed it the way I saw the old shock was installed and it rides like butter!
New shock looks a little longer eye to eye, geometry will be different from standard if it is
@@DevonNroos Yeah, the newer shocks are longer! and it lifted the rear a couple inches, the sag makes up for it though 👍🏽
@@CowboyTomi but it looks like the shock body is hitting the frame.
@@MrDVCHITTer It’s difinitely touching the frame, but the sag from sitting on the saddle lifts from it!
Next level video bro

Sick bike. Would love it. I ride 2 intense downhill mtb and love em. I need a enduro one lol
Damn, chill dude! haha! Thank you!
Why did you not go with an XT rear derailer and shifter?

Any idea what you spent on it restoring to the way it is now?
Lovely great work again CT 👍

Love the color❤❤❤
Thanks!
Love the khmer flag hanging on that wall, nice work by the way🇰🇭
How do you make the vinyl stickers?
I used a cricut vinyl cutter.
What is the name of the adapter you use for the brake covers?
the Grimeca brakes?
just sayin whassup to my mans in the comments!
hi hi !
nice work ;-)

Dude, I should send you my 2000 Specialized FSR BIGHIT for you to rebuild.
Bro that shock tilted out your whole geometry. Does those brakes even work after spraying them with WD40? Do the seals even hold oil and don't let air get in?
Yeah the shock definitely changed the geo! And I cleaned the brakes with brake cleaner after and works perfect!

Next time try sanding the surface before you prime and paint. It will adhere to the surface much better.
