you should also listen to yandhi, it’s about 99% finished, you should really look into it! there’s 2 jesus is king songs on there and they are WAY better on yandhi! ive only seen 2 yandhi reactions on TH-cam so you would be one of the only on TH-cam if you reacted!
Donda really develops a lot of the ideas of Jesus is King and is in my opinion one of the best Kanye albums ever. If you ever get the chance you should listen to it!
Yes, but every song on here that had early versions from yandhi? The other versions are way better. (Assuming he finished verses and such) But yandhi was just unmixed better versions of anything from this album.
100% agree with you bro, this album hits so much harder if your a Christian. God Is, is so powerful and motivational. I feel like people overlook this album because of the name and message. Keep it up bro, killing it❤
@@FlowetryMotion What is amazing about that song is that Kanye reunited Pusha and No Malice on there for the first time in a long time as they had a falling out.
I’m glad you didn’t let negative perspectives influence your opinion. There are obvious reasons why people wouldn’t like it. The love for Yandhi. Christian themes/elements. Closed on Sunday bars. It is completely reasonable. However, I personally agree with you. I like this album a lot. Selah, Follow God, Everything We Need, Hands On and Use this Gospel make my rotations.
The reaction from fans isn't necessarily because JIK is bad per say, it's because Yandhi (chakras/Selah, City in the sky, others) were widely regarded as better than the versions released on JIK. I heavily suggest after you have heard all of kanyes discography, to checkout the yandhi versions of the 2 songs mentioned above.. as well as Cant Look In My Eyes with Kid Cudi. These songs would debatably have been some of his top songs
You really should consider watching some videos, beyond the albums. His interview with Big Boy, close to the release of this, was great. We got an understanding of how his mind was operating at the time. We'd love to watch that! 🙌🏻
Like all the versions actually lol. I usually refer chakras to the melodic version but the one with the selah beat is crazy too and then the version with hallelujah instead of Ye. Every version is fuckg great
Such an underrated album that is aging like a fine wine! I believe too many people had "demoitis" from listening to all the Yandhi leaks and it negatively impacted how they first absorbed this project which is a shame but understandable. Many are coming around to it now that more time and distance has passed though. It's always interesting to watch a first time listen from someone who wasn't caught up in all the build up back in 2018/2019 and has fresh ears and a completely untainted perspective.
I highly recommend listening the the TH-cam video version of Closed on Sunday. It has a choir at the end that really makes the song speak to the soul.. I hate how it isn’t on the album version.
you gotta do the old 3 man. the college dropout, late registration, and graduation. i think that's like the best 3 album run ever and my favourite kanye albums are the college dropout and large registration. love the content btw bro 🙏
A lot of people actually hate on Jesus is King because of how short and all over the place it sounds, but I personally enjoy it and I'm glad you did too. Fun Fact: This album was actually going to be a completely different and was called Yandhi. It's a mix of Ye (the album) and gospel like Jesus is King. I strongly suggest if you are okay with listening to leaks to go find a version of Yandhi that a group in the community called "The Narcissist Team" made that aims complete the album using all the available leaks. It's a little hard to find online unless you're looking in the right spots so I can supply a link if you're curious. (most songs from what I've seen aren't detected by youtube and wont get struck down)
@@HipHop4Life718 agreed, it's my fav album of all time! Raw, serious, heartfelt, insane production, meditative, motivational, spiritual, no swearing (but don't miss it)... What more can you ask for?
No rapper has a discography with the same amount of range as Kanye. It may not be perfect, especially as of recent, but we get a different experience with every album, and that’s why I love him
The reason a lot of people don’t like this that much is because the songs were very minimalistic and didn’t reach their full potential. For example, the Yandhi version of Everything We Need (called The Storm) had more harmonies on the chorus, and features from Kid Cudi and XXXTentacion. You should def check out Yandhi eventually!
Bro, this album suffered by the time, the media and the expectations. If you go back everybody is judging everything BUT the music. But, I've been noticing a lot of people going back and listening, ppl that was not influenced by Twitter feeds and "woke" culture. I wasn't in tune with him at the time, never even had listened to a full album of his. Going back, and listening to all his discography, knowing him, and then listening to this was incredible. I admire him as person, a voice and mind, it hits different. Coming from a religious family, but not a stricted kind, I was familiar with some themes. When I was younger I hated the pressure to go to churches, never felt good in there and in my adolescence I was against it, I never liked doing things because people told me to. For the first, in maybe 13 plus years, I got to listen a gospel album and feel something. Since then I've been getting a little back, not to religion, but remembering that not all of life is a random thing. We have roles, bigger than we think, and the Creator is part of it. So that's Kanye made me a better person with this album. I'm getting all the poison of crazy lifestyles, drinking, negativity out of my life, a little by little. And one thing is for sure: this album will continue to be playing as I do these small steps to a better life. Love from Brazil! Keep the reactions coming! ❤🇧🇷
Originally the album was going to be called "Yandhi" having a different vibe than Jesus Is King, Kanye decided to completely remake the album and so he created "Jesus Is King" you can find the original album on TH-cam. honestly it's one of Kanye's best albums even though he hasn't released it.
