- "Ukraine Is Calling My Name" - Original Song ©2024 Jerry & Julie Music 🇺🇦🙏💔To The Victims of The July 8th Missile Attacks that hit the Children's Hospital in Kyiv
On July 8th, 2024, Ukraine suffered yet another round of Russian missile attacks. Especially horrific was the footage of seeing the sick children being wheeled out of the children's hospital that got hit in Kyiv. It moved me to write this song. Also, my grandparents were from the region, so I feel closer to it all (like an ancient homeland). I also now have a friend who lives there who I met online before the war started. He is Pavlo, and his partner is Luba.
This song goes out to them, to the victims of the July 8th missile attacks on the children's hospital in Kyiv, and to all war victims of this Russia-Ukraine war. Just the day before, we were watching one of Pavlo's livestreams from Kyiv, and things were so happy and peaceful. And then the next day - the attacks!!
We hope you are moved by this composition. I (Jerry) wrote this (with a lot of help from Julie) on Monday, July 8th, and have been going over and over it with her ever since. Beautiful caring hearts you both have. I have a friend who is from there and told me about this tragedy its unthinkable the pain for so many people. Such a beautiful song of this tragedy. I was able to watch the video of Pavlo and Luba. Thanks for your thoughts during my little pandemic,.The power is back on at my house now. Everyone is coming from Livingston to our little city with only a small grocery store because Livingston has no power and their frozen and refrigerated foods are spoiled.

Beautiful song! Congratulations, guys. It seems to me that the problem is much deeper. We see only the facts that lie on the surface and do not have all the information about the causes, processes, stakeholders, and so on. Innocent people, especially children, always become victims of wars. Unfortunately. And those who organize wars have always not given a damn about the fate of specific people.
Hi Olga. This is Jerry. Thank you so much for your comment and for your kind words!! I agree that children are so often, sadly, the victims of war. So are the young people of every nation due to their much older leaders giving the commands. I do realize that this is a war between two governments as opposed to being between two country's peoples. You are brave to speak out, and I commend you for it. However, there is a fine line between regular, horrific war, and war crimes. I feel, as do many, that the missile attack in Kyiv on the children's hospital definitely qualifies as a war crime. It must stop. My heart goes out to the innocent peoples of all countries affected by wars that they didn't start. Thank you again for your input and comment. It is very much appreciated.

@jerryspianobar Thank you so much, Jerry! Honestly, I lean in English language all my life, and I still have troubles :)) For example, I can't understand all that you say in real time. Sometimes, I use an online translator to check some words. But I like English and I write lyrics to my songs in English very often:))
