Same! I’d watched the original film and read the book so thought I would be prepared. The last episode was so emotional, it made me tear up when Dexter was crying. It was a beautiful show and I think it sends the message that sometimes what you’re looking for can be right in front of you all along. Also if you love someone that makes you happy to cherish it and not waste time!
I did not read but I looked up the book ending and it nice to know that Dexter moved on after her death and that just like Ian they both went on to have healthy relationships and a family while still remembering her on July 15th
I realized people have to learn love like they learn anything else. We are not born into this world knowing right from wrong. He needed that time to grow otherwise their relationship would have never worked as a couple. I think now sacred friendship is the key to any good relationship. Accepting the good and the ugly because we know their purest form. Only then it would bloom into something beautiful! It’s very rare for someone to say “we grew up together” with the love of their life
It very rare to see a show or movie and be totally heartbroken by it but this one will destroy you. I just love how the ending he relives the first day they met and can we not talk about the acting?? The chemistry they had was amazing and the acting was brilliant. These two both deserve an Emmy for their epic performances.
I cried when he phoned her from the phone booth, I cried when they fought, when they saw each other again at Tilly's wedding and bawled the last 2 eps😭💔
This story hurts a lot because it is simply very real. We've all met a Dexter, an emotionally immature man who lives his life without knowing what he wants and is too cowardly and self-centered to appreciate what he has. And Emma, a good and incredibly talented person whose insecurity, lack of self-respect and low self-esteem corner her, preventing her from having the life she wants and being treated the way she wants. Both, due to their personalities, are orchestrators of their own misfortunes.
by far the best netflix romantic show i’ve watched and probably the best romantic film i’ve seen. the ending absolutely wrecked me but it was so real because some love stories don’t have happy endings. this brought every emotion out of me. a top favorite. wow. really shows you to take a chance on love when you first see it and feel it. appreciate what you have before it’s gone.

So annoying how immature and afraid people are of taking hold of love when its there in front of you. He was damaged but she loved him anyway. Humanity doesn't have to be this way...let's not do this in real life.
The reality is that, while he was fond of her, he actually fell for her after running out of other options. She confessed her feeling during their Greece trip and his discomfort was palpable.

Ooh I ve NEVER EVER cried so much in my life!! This story is just unconceivable and it leaves you speechless until the time they come back to each other and then what they ve built in a whole life is destroyed in a few seconds... Although the screenwriter for some reason wants to make us depressed, the messages behind this astonishingly beautiful and touching story are so strong! I think these messages are what we should keep after everything that happens in our lives and the only sure thing is that life is a lesson until the end.

Yoh i cried throughout episode 14....especially when she sat down with him on the carpet and told him about how it would stop hurting 😭😭 One day it just stops hurting. One day you just wake up and you can breathe again without the person. After that carpet moment i feel she showed him how he needs to walk through the pain. Yoh! 💔

I am not sure that I watched something more or less than that in the movie with Anne Hathaway. Anyway, it was a very pleasant, romantic, and sweet series production. The protagonists' appearance is suprising good! Also it was a very succesful description of the ages late 80s to early 2000s. This also mine ages if youth. It was exactly like that!
