    So, as you can see, it’s not difficult (or expensive) to create professional lighting set-ups for video and documentary film productions.
    I used one basic set-up with three lights: key light (with a softbox), edge light, and a back light. You can adjust this set-up based on the situation you encounter at your location.

    Incredible look into the actual workflow of producing a real world documentary. Having recently watch so many camera reviews, this video is such a breath of fresh air reminding us that gear is such a small percentage of creating the final product. The GH4 and A6500 are both years behind current technology, but as evident in this video still produces amazing footage. Would love to see more videos like this one.

    “I didn’t have time to set up a tripod” .... but you set up 2 lights on stands and balanced a gimble!
    And you had 2 assistants!!!
    You really need to go on a tripod set up course!

    • @algarveTV
      @algarveTV 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tripods are very hard to setup. Nowadays camera guys know about handheld, gimbal, drones or sliders, but Wtf... a tripod. 3 legs are too much for me anyway...

    • @Andrelas11
      @Andrelas11 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@algarveTV Not sure which tripods you are using but I haven't found a tripod I cannot set up in about 15-20 seconds or less. Gimbals and handheld rigs work but you just look like a noob when you use them for things like set up interviews without using them for an intentional effect.

    • @sdk4073
      @sdk4073 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are using a proper video head, that shit has to be balanced like a gimbal but you only need that for pans and tilts etc. But for locked shots you can just throw it on there.

    I noticed on one your sets was the flash point light stand with the yellow metal adjustable light stands.
    After my new to me camera (sony a77ll) and all my old minolta a-mount film lenses that will work on my new to me sony a77ll camera.
    My very first bit of set kit from my lovely wife for Christmas was 3 of those flash points 9.5ft lightstands with the metal yellow colored adjustable clamps.
    I picked the spring loaded ones so things don't get banged are to much.
    Every little helps when all you got is just a little.
    It would be great to see a pro evaluate a piece of my gear. Maybe in one of your gear and set set up run throughs.❤

      I'm also not sure what he meant by saying opposite. Anyway, what you need to do is set up the key light and camera so they are on opposite sides of the interviewer. It would be light - interviewer - camera OR camera - interviewer - light. That will give you the far side key look he's using in the interviews
