What I like about him is every year he says he is going to improve and every year he improves he has done what he said he would do. Willy won me over in the last few years so I am now in his corner too!

There’s talk that Nylander could command a $11 M AAV salary which would force GM Brad Treliving to trade either him or Mitch Marner.

If you want to improve your channel, try to edit audio file so it doesn't sound like you are in a bottle. Give some clarity to your own voice.
There are even apps that clear the audio for you and add some "umph" into it so it is more of a pleasure to listen to. You will gain more followers with this for sure.

Not sure about Nylander, but I dont understand the obsession with height / size , like does 6' or 6'3 make any difference at all? it seems like it wont matter much unless you are a GK

Playing 9 seasons having 452 points in only 536 games played that's remarkable! When he retires he'll surely pass Matt's Sundins stats ! So ya I want him as a leaf until his retirement !

Guess what Toronto can't afford him now. He wakes up in a contract Year ? To get a fat paycheck contract and to go back to sleep after that. Trade him now while you will get a return and free up cap space

Yeah ofcourse he just stepped up becuse it is payday, he had the ability to play like he have done the last year before but choose to take it slow and easy (dont want to work up a sweat after all) OR you might just be dumb and Willy have gotten the skillset and opportunity to play at his best.

@@hockeycollective OP is completely right. The recency bias is strong here and you conveniently forget to mention the other 6 years he's played for the leafs. Willy has a history of low effort plays, giving up on puck battles and being afraid in physical games. I can't see him getting paid more than Pastrnak based off a sample size of 20 games in a contract year. He's been good the last 2 years but that doesn't warrant a huge overpay from an already top heavy leafs team with gaping holes on defence.

    • @hockeycollective
      @hockeycollective  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

I don't think he gets as much as Pasta ($11.25M) either, nor should he! He'll end up in around 10 per year in my opinion.
But I definitely agree about the Leafs defence holes lol@@dizk8488

Nylander is showing how much he is Learning to Position Himself better this Year than ever before.
The Leafs Big 3 are Weak on Defense and You can tell Mathews is the One causing the Goals Against the Most because of His Very Bad Positioning Skill.
When Nylander is with 4 Checkers to get Him the Puck at both ends , He looks Happy and doesn't have to Work so Hard.
When They Line Nylander with Mathews, He has to Work Harder to Succeed and doesn't look as Happy.
If You want Nylander to get You to the Cup , Trade Mathews for as Many Good Checkers , at both ends , that You can get so Nylander doesn't have to Work that hard to get You to the Cup.
Listen to Me Boys and We will Fight for the Cup , Promise !

Playing in the USA as a Kid is the Problem with Nylander.
Like Mathews , He doesn't Train to Cover Their Zones Correctly
That's why Nylander is Learning Faster than Mathews about how to Play Correctly, He grew Up in Calgary knowing the Great Ice Hockey Players like Fleury and Gilmore
They were as Great as Brad Marchand at Positional Ice Hockey and that is Why They saw the Cup.
Toronto Hates that Type of Player Showing Up the Company's Big Money Project .
When Toronto gets an Owner that wants the Cup , then They will Stop this Corporate Project Crap and get Real Ice Hockey People to Run the Team.
