I was introduced to Alphonso later in my life when I had moved out of my state. I felt like it has grown up studying in convent school, having proper manners, elite class and so the name. You say its name and you feel like wow so modern and cultured. It makes foreign visits too. It's a gentleman(go). On the other hand, I had an old friend, who lives in small villages in poor UP/Bihar/Jh. He studied in Government schools and is popularly known as Langra, sometimes called as Langda. When you say it, you can feel the 'becharapan'.... Langda.. Langra is neither over hyped nor over priced nor over marketed unlike the Alphonso is. It may not be fruits of rich people, but it's rich in tastes. It may not have a beautiful skin, but it's sweet and it can last longer. So Langra is the common man(go), which resides in my heart and taste buds.
