I've forfeited before because of how lucky I've gotten and feeling the win would be totally undeserved. However, doing that in a team setting is pretty messed lol.
I had an interesting thought: what if Gyarados was a water+dragon type? (it's not far-fetched after all). How good would it have been in past meta games? For example, i could imagine that it might have been really strong in gen 4, because STAB, while beeing a bit worse in gen 3 because of the spikes weakness and no access to a physical STAB in hp Dragon (many Gyaras ran hp rock, so i thats not necessarily a problem.)
Alright so obviously trying to have a game of Pokemon without luck is silly. But you're telling me offering a rematch when you crit them turn 2 ruins the spirit of competition? Please enlighten me cuz I do believe you be cappin my chieften.
The main problem is that you are playing for a team who are relying on you to help them win so win you through a game that you can win it spits in their face.

Because luck swings both ways. Determining the game is "bullshit" in the first 3 turns gives no opportunity for the opponent to get lucky. It goes against the spirit of the competition because said competition involves luck. In any sport, competition etc, offering someone a rematch or giving them a win after you win is an absolute slap in the face and downright disrespectful

I got my Volc para’d, and got tricked a scarf. and still managed to whittle the opponent down w/ just fiery dance. Racked up 3 boosts, their last is ditto but guess what haze pecs. Then my next match, goofy sends in his Volc into Twave and immediately forfeited. I was like wowwww.
It's understandable to get upset, but there is certainly a point where it's worrisome. I hope this Goofball fellow managed to obtain a healthier relationship with competition eventually
One time in a League that I won't mentioned, one of my players decided to do a metronome battle for playoffs tiebreaker instead of playing the game. In a ghosting tour. And I couldn't veto this decision somehow because of veterancy?

Honestly I was kinda disappointed by the fsg Noctowl video. I know Ledian or Luvdisc was bad for a fact, but Noctowl was genuinely one of the most dangerous pokemon in gen8 dynamax randbats. Was honestly expecting it doing something at sometime somewhere.
I cant lie I do think it's against the competitive spirit and stuff but at the same time if I were mcmeghan I wouldve forfeited against Lavos in that unfortunate series, like beyond a certain point it feels scummy to win via blind luck

pokemon is a game of chance and i somehow always lose it (i missed magma storm 3 times and a will o wisp once in a 30 turn match)
