Mark, you are so amazing person... And also each person in band are perfect! His perfect voice, his incredible smile and his big soul... Not from this World
this is gold dust ... great insight into the vision and passion of a great artist, he may be gone but we will always have a wonderful body of work to remember him by
That guy was on a mission - The transformation to what they became in the end was so amazing to me - Here they were still so young, almost school boyish but yet quite mature and determined. I dont care what others might say, but everything they released, all albums are pure musical perfection.
👏👏👏 . Know one even comes close to how clean and smooth they sounded Live . Amazing . You don't do Film's about People like these . You get every but of footage and spread this MAN'S Word's .
Hey I first listened to Talk Talk on KROQ (at 7:00) in L.A. when I was a kid! They played all of their singles as I remember it. That's where I grew my love of British bands.
Jaú/SP Brasil... Realmente, fala muito bem .. gosto muito da banda Talk Talk.. principalmente Mark Hollis., Vou ouvir, enquanto eu viver. Ouço todos os dias..,🥰🥰🥰
Amazing interview and so much engagement from Mark, rarely seen thereafter. At 1.58 he reveals everything about the future sound and direction of the band which is ultimately conceived in ‘Spirit’, ‘Laughing Stock’ and ‘Mark Hollis’. To think this was right at the beginning of their career and he had the minimalist jazz inspired direction mapped out in his head was incredibly given the market, influences and pressures at that time. So much maturity from the outset.
Yes, those last three albums were the music Mark always wanted to do, since the beginning. He had a solo song called Crying in the Rain, you can find the recording on YT. It sounds almost like lo-fi Spirit of Eden… and it was pre-Talk Talk… Mark just had to go through commercial phase - radio hits, endless TV shows and gigs - to earn enough money that would let him make the Music that played in his head.
Yup, the ROQ of the 80s got me through the beginning of my teaching career, and Talk Talk was a big part of it. Figuring this must be an interview from the early 80s.
They became so much bigger than Duran Duran. Talk Talks music is now almost cult like. I play their albums regularly. I can't remember ever playing Duran Durans music after they disappeared into the void.
3:17 good point, I don't think there was any need for some of the early new wave bands to be so soft or laid back ( as a listener ) So Chris Thomas didn't produce for Talk Talk ?
All respect to Mark. You're dearly missed. But your music will last forever, eternal.
Mark is like Bach..the true genius of his art not truly recognized till years later and after he's gone...but true musical genius he definitely is
Mark Hollis is/was an absolute legend ..RIP Mark ... thank you (and all the guys in Talk Talk) for an absolute orsm music journey :-)
Me deleitó al escuchar ami amor platónico my amor Mark ke lindo hombre
This is the best interview I’ve seen!! RIP Mark Hollis. I will never forget you 😢❤️❤️❤️
Sharp suit. He reminds me a bit here of Tim Roth in Reservoir Dogs.
Brilliant! Thank You for posting!! Mark's passion and road map for his music at this early stage in Talk Talk's career is unbelievable.
Mark, you are so amazing person... And also each person in band are perfect!
His perfect voice, his incredible smile and his big soul... Not from this World
Yes his big soul is not from this world. I agree
I confirm, not from this world.
He was a mad scientist nothing more.
Mark is such an articulate guy.
And he's so adorable:-)
Yup, highly intelligent
...and dressed like a proper gentleman ❤

Missing you Mark! A complete musician..

I loved KROQ in the Eighties when I was a kid, and L.A. had several good stations to choose from. KROQ was so different though.

This is the type of guy who is thinking all the time, hence the bags under his eyes.
Ke lindo hombre mark hollis mi corazon es tuyo ke talento de este hombre maravilloso ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
i can't believe this!!! Great footage of an incredible musical mind...
A great interview
Светлый человек, замечательный музыкант Спасибо Марк!!!❤️
Yup, the ROQ of the 80s got me through the beginning of my teaching career, and Talk Talk was a big part of it. Figuring this must be an interview from the early 80s.
The days when record companies actually nurtured and developed a band rather than throwing them away in 5 minutes like they do now
These interviews are Great!!!
Awesome interview and 1.44 influence of what was to become, in later years a defining work.
Great band and I saw them supporting Duran Duran in Birmingham in 1981. Taken too young.
He nailed it about the Radio in the US will ONLY play a sure hit alienating so much good music.
That make sense with his voice like sax and last albums like jazz assembly.
AMO ÀS MÚSICAS DELES
Could’ve filled in some information in the description, mate!
Talk talk un grupo de otro nivel!❤
Great interview...
Excellent thanks for posting. Does anyone know what year this is please? Think it's 1982 which is early in their career and before their major albums.
Certainly 1982
Mark ti amo
so innocent there shame what happened to him 🥰🥰🥰

Mark is a top man of men-Rip
Tenian bien presente a los pistols!!! Aguante talk talk y los pistols
What a great interviewer. I'm joking, I was being sarcastic. Yes, please do talk more about some radio station. We love it. 🤢
What is the date and place that interview take place?
хочу быть этой банкой из-под кока-колы
Me too. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤟❌❌❌
1983 or 1984 ?
1982, I would say.
It would be 82,their first album.

That album "It's My Life" ended up being produced by Rhett Davies.
He looks like he hasnt slept for weeks. Tough business.
Paul was hot
He sounds like Rodney from Only Fools and Horses.
He was actually blonde or Dyed hair ????
Sometimes i look at him like a blonde guy and then like a Dark brown.
