last year although benfica beat a bad Barca side, benfica wasn't in its prime too, having 2 managers in 1 year and ending up in 3rd place in the league. now with a new president, new coach and great signings like neres and Enzo from riverplate. so far benfica has played 6 games scoring 17 goals and only suffering 2. I am so sorry, but why is everyone underestimating Ajax so much? We bought Bergwijn, Wijndal, Bassey, Brobbey, Jorge Sanchez from club america and portugese talent Conceicao. We had a good window. We may have lost a few players, with potentially Antony as well, But we really bought back some quality players with great potential. I reckon we definitely beat rangers and Napoli at home. At the form Liverpool is in, we can get a point there too. But we will see

You shouldn't overlook Benfica. For example, your review on the Juventus side was just terrible and all it says is that you don't even follow them (even though you're wearing their shirt). Juventus is playing terrible football at the moment, even though they have a good team... On the other side, Benfica is playing amazing football and has been having a great transfer window so far, therefore I wouldn't be surprised if they can finnish 2nd in this group. Macabbi will also not be an easy away game, and Juventus doesn't have the best results when it comes to playing away, in UCL specially.
Completely agree. They were outplayed by Sassuolo in the first half on their opening game. Luckily they were clinical. Sampdoria away was a snoozefest. They then played Roma at home and they finally played well. GUESS WHAT tho lol they still only drew. Good result for Roma given they were outplayed. I think Juve will come to grips however, but it was definitely worth mentioning their poor start...

And Gonçalo Ramos is proving himself to be the next big Portuguese striker. I think Juventus need to prepare to face a very strong Benfica side. Yes we lost Darwin but we got great replacements to him like Gonçalos Ramos and we had a great transfer window getting Petar Musa, David Neres, Enzo Fernandez, Bah, Joao Victor, Aursnes... We have a new great coach and Lucas Verissimo will maybe be back soon after a very serious injury and with him and Otamendi at the back our defence will be very strong. Also we have the best academy in the world and can constantly pump out talent to replace losses. So I think that Benfica will finish 2nd maybe even chasing PSG for the 1st place
Predictions: A 1st; Liverpool 2nd; Napoli 3rd; Ajax 4th; Rangers Liverpool has had a harsh start in the league, though have already bounced up it seems, with their 9-0 battering of Bournemouth. Napoli is always an interesting team to watch out for in Europe. Playing very nicely in the league at the moment, the one italian teams to watch this year. Ajax may have done some patch working this transfer market, they are not able to make it in the group. May they have a fantastic Europa League run. Rangers had a fantastic Europa League run last year but I don't think they can continue that run of form. Unfortunatly I see them in dead last, though they can surprise me. ⚪️🔵👮♂️ B 1; Atlético Madrid 2; Porto 3; Club Brugge 4; Bayer 04 Atlético de Madrid has a deservant first place, they are looking good, as always, and with a simpler group like this, I see them dominating the other teams. For the exeption of Porto, who may scratch some points away from them. Porto were the champions of Portugal last year. Lost a good chunk of important players *but* are looking competitive still, (the same cannot be said about another portuguese team). They will finnish 2nd, although they can produce a surprise here and clech a 1st. Hard, but possible. Club Brugge already impressed a lot of people last year, playing toe-to-toe with PSG and City. They can theoretically do the same again, bulstered by their new entries, but I still think they won't go to the knockouts. Bayer 04 is... I don't really know. I just don't feel'em, you know? They had a decent campaign at the Bundesliga last year, but the opposition they'll be heading won't let them do more than a last place. Maybe even winning it. Plzen were unlucky. Having had a fantastic qualiffying rounds performance, the same cannot be said about their league form. Not to meantion the fact that they are in the "group of death". D 1; Tottenham Hotspurs 2; Eintracht Frankfurt 3; Marseille 4; Sporting Europa League level group stage for them. If they don't go to the round of 16 they are officially the butt of England in terms of football. Amazing Kane and Son double at the front will deal a great amount of damage. 🐓 🔵 Eintracht may have not had a great start to the season, but I believe they'll make it up as time goes on. Securing a second place finishing should not benoutside their capabilities. Marseille are looking actually pretry good. Being second place in the league, drawn with PSG, they are looking like a threat to the Europa League knockout stages. Sporting is undergoing a terrible patch of form. Losing a lot of their players and not finding any replacements for them made them weak. Their youth may help them out a bit, but no, not enough for a great performance in any way. E 1; Milan 2; RB Salzburg 3; Chelsea 4; Dynamo Zagred Milan managed to keep their players and are looking quite ferrotious this season. Being top of the league, I believe they will make it comfortably out of the group stages. The first surprise of the bunch. Salzburg has a very promising team, with a deadly attack and an interesting defense. They may not be at the top of the league at the moment, but they will surprise a lot of people in the Champions League. Chelsea is going through complicated times. With the owner thing and all. Having sold their bulk of the offence, I don't think they are going to be all that competitive. A third place is deserving in my opinion. Zagreb may be looking nice, but I don't have much hope in them. They could snatch a third place, but its still a tad bit on the line of impossibility. F 1; RB Leipzig 2; Real Madrid 3; Celtic 4; Shaktar Donetsk Leipzig may not have the best of the league starts but they are still loking interesting, especially on the attack with the return of Timo Werner. Real Madrid is going to slip up a bit in the group stages. Celtic and Leipzig surprising them in their matches and Shaktar being the free points team. Celtic are the current Scottish champions and maitain the good form. The Europa Leagues accessing third place of looking very probable. Shaktar Donetsk lost most of their foreign players reamaing a shell of its former self. They will suffer through this group stage and maybe even get a troubling 0 points of this. G 1; Manchester City 2; Borussia Dortmund 3; Sevilla 4; København Machester City is simply unstoppable. I hate to admit it, but I just can't see hiw they can't juat top this group with 15+ points. Håland is already averaging an amazing 6 goals in 4 matches and Pep is looking to finally lift the Champions League trophy. Borussia Dortmund may have sold Håland but they still made amazing signings. Haller and Adeyemi are two incredible additions and they will prove to be the right choices. Sevilla is going to their home comptetition, not even because they can't compete with the other two, but just because they don't want to deal with them. København is just not at the same level. A well fought for 4th place awaits them. H 1; PSG 2; SL Benfica 3; Juventus 4; Maccabi Haifa PSG is having a difficult time with its internal conflicts and opposing characters. Still, they have everything to make it in the first place. Benfica is having a out of this world run of form, only wins a most of them by more than 2 goals. Their offensive and pressing tactics are doing wonders, finally giving form to what their true potential can do. Yet to face trully strong teams its now the chance to prove that they are one of the top teams of Europe and the World. 🔴⚪️🦅 Juventus is under a transition period, some players out and new stars arising. They will battle it out with Benfica to see who gets to keep playing in the Champions League. It will be close, ending up behind Benfica. Maybe some surprises against Juventus and Benfica, not much besides that.

I believe Liverpool will place 2nd in their group and struggle an bit because the league is their main focus right now. Same with Juventus, Benfica shouldn’t be underrated as they have an good team.
Honestly as a Benfica fan I wouldn't be so sure about that, because no matter how well we are playing we are yet to play against a bigger team like Juventus, no one knows how well we will do against a team like that
The champions league finalist vs the Europa league finalist aswell as brittish show down. A 3rd place finish by rangers would be great as this a tough and close group but it's seeing how well rangers compare to these sides and improve.
I think you did Ajax wrong, I agree with you Liverpool will end up as the number one in the group but Ajax will finish second. Napoli third and Rangers fourth. Dont forget Ajax will loos Anthony to Man U but we will get Ziyech back again.
As a Liverpool fan, I think Ajax will top the group. Liverpool will probably come 2nd (though tbh judging by our poor start in the Premier League, I wouldn't be surprised if we slipped big time here). I hope Liverpool wins the group and they have the ability too, just a question which Liverpool turns up, the one from last season or the one we are currently seeing now. Rangers definitely should not be underestimated especially due to their brilliant run in the Europa League and how they upset Dortmund and Leipzig, they could easily provide another upset if they could. Napoli are a solid side too and for a while they actually led Serie A last season. I hope Liverpool wins the group but I honestly wouldn't be too surprised if we bottled it. We shall see, it's still early days (although I don't think Liverpool will win either the CL or PL now, we shall see though - we rely too much on aging and/or injury-prone midfielders). My predictions for Group A: 1. Ajax 2. Liverpool 3. Rangers 4. Napoli (Though like I said, I wouldn't be surprised if Rangers or Napoli advanced at the expense of either).
I think a lot of people underestimate how insanely strong Ajax really is. I do confess that losing Martinez, Mazraoui and Tagliafico have left a large gap in defence but I am also excited and think that our midfield is packed with good options, our attack is insanely flexible and strong and I am really excited to see what our new signings in Bassey, Wijndal and Sanchez will bring to the table. Many keep comparing Ajax’s strength to PSV’s but PSV has had a lot more preporation time and were quite early with all their transfers meaning they got a better start. Overall Ajax’s potential is so much higher

I think you underestimate the Bundesliga (top to leauge for me in front of la liga, sure there are the big 3 but apart from that theres not much in Bundesliga every team is competitive) to much Dortmund, Leipzig, Leverkusen and Frankfurt are quality teams very high european level. There is no way Leverkusen and Frankfurt are finishing 4th.

Rangers fan here. 🔴⚪🔵 We love having our underdog status that way teams don't see us coming, and fortress Ibrox is fast becoming a graveyard for European teams. Liverpool are definitely favourites on paper, though Napoli in Italy are a force to be reckoned with. Ajax are difficult to valuate, they may do well or they may crumble, we'll just have to see. The one thing that stands out to me though is that Ajax and Napoli aren't the European powers they were a few seasons ago and will never have played in an atmosphere like Ibrox on a European night. Liverpool and Rangers have never met in European competition before, so this is new ground for both teams. I reckon Rangers can get 8 points from this group, two home wins against Ajax and Napoli, a draw in Amsterdam, and a sneaky draw in one of the other matches. I think points will be dropped between the other teams when they play each other, so this group is up for grabs in my opinion. Never underestimate Rangers in Europe, we've taken a few hefty scalps over the past few seasons, including Porto, Feyenoord, Dortmund and Leibzig. I'm looking forward to the UCL starting, may the best team win. 🔴⚪🔵
As a Frankfurt Fan/ Rangers Sympathizer (since the finale, you guys had some of the best fans i had the honor to meet), i can relate to that. Even after our teams went through to the Europa League final, beating some highly ranked club, our clubs are still being underestimated. And i don‘t get it why. I guess it is mainly because we‘re not one of those „oil“ clubs, that are constantly winning major titles 🙄 but we‘ll show them, we‘ll show them all

Benfica team is much better than last year, we had a good champions league run but a very dissapointing season overall. Although we lost Darwin we got Enzo Fernandez (better than Darwin) David neres, aursnes, Alexander bah, Joao Vitor… not to mention that with Darwin leaving Gonçalo Ramos has earned his spot as our striker and mark my words he is not leaving for less than 40million next year. We also now have a great coach in roger Schmidt who has won every single game since he has entered the club. The discussion about this group shouldn’t be psg vs juventus for the first spot but Benfica vs juventus for that 2nd 🦅🦅🦅

Maybe you will have a little surprise by Benfica! Yeah we lost Darwin Nunez but we improved a lot our squad this summer, and we are playing better football this year. I´m not saying that we´ll be second in this group 100% sure, but it will be 50/50 between Benfica and Juventus.
normally I agree with all your predictions but after seeing you in the juventus jersey I already knew how this was going to end... yes, barcelona in the last champions league was having problems but what about benfica? that had its president arrested for corruption and the coach (jorge jesus) was fired and then benfica had to play with the coach of team B, in the league they were also in bad shape finishing third and even so they reached the quarterfinals knocking down barcelona and ajax, this year roger shmidt is the new coach and he is fantastic, with his offensive scheme and high effort and resistance, against youths who are not at their peak and have very old players I think they will not be able to handle it with this style of play from benfica. Dinamo beat numerous strong teams in last few seasons and absolutely smashed Tottenham and Atalanta in Zagreb. Last time Dinamo was in similarly strong group and was really close to make round of 16 of Champions League. Thinking Dinamo will get eaten in this group is ignorance. They will grab solid number of points.

I am so sorry, but why is everyone underestimating Ajax so much? We bought Bergwijn, Wijndal, Bassey, Brobbey, Jorge Sanchez from club america and portugese talent Conceicao. We had a good window. We may have lost a few players, with potentially Antony as well, But we really bought back some quality players with great potential. I reckon we definitely beat rangers and Napoli at home. You shouldn't overlook Benfica. For example, your review on the Juventus side was just terrible and all it says is that you don't even follow them (even though you're wearing their shirt). Juventus is playing terrible football at the moment, even though they have a good team... On the other side, Benfica is playing amazing football and has been having a great transfer window so far, therefore I wouldn't be surprised if they can finnish 2nd in this group. Macabbi will also not be an easy away game, and Juventus doesn't have the best results when it comes to playing away, in UCL specially.
Completely agree. They were outplayed by Sassuolo in the first half on their opening game. Luckily they were clinical. Sampdoria away was a snoozefest. They then played Roma at home and they finally played well. GUESS WHAT tho lol they still only drew. Good result for Roma given they were outplayed. I think Juve will come to grips however, but it was definitely worth mentioning their poor start...

Ajax may have done some patch working this transfer market, they are not able to make it in the group. May they have a fantastic Europa League run.

Atlético de Madrid has a deservant first place, they are looking good, as always, and with a simpler group like this, I see them dominating the other teams. For the exeption of Porto, who may scratch some points away from them.
Porto were the champions of Portugal last year. Lost a good chunk of important players *but* are looking competitive still, (the same cannot be said about another portuguese team). They will finnish 2nd, although they can produce a surprise here and clech a 1st. Hard, but possible.
Club Brugge already impressed a lot of people last year, playing toe-to-toe with PSG and City. They can theoretically do the same again, bulstered by their new entries, but I still think they won't go to the knockouts.
Bayer 04 is... I don't really know. I just don't feel'em, you know? They had a decent campaign at the Bundesliga last year, but the opposition they'll be heading won't let them do more than a last place.

Barcelona are looking soooooo much better that last year. Lewandowski up front only proves it even more. With the recent results they look like the good old Barcelona we were all acustomed to. Even haveing the chance to steal some points from Bayern.
Inter is just not on the same level as the other two teams. But they'll have a fantastic chance out in the Europa League. Maybe even winning it.
Plzen were unlucky. Having had a fantastic qualiffying rounds performance, the same cannot be said about their league form. Not to meantion the fact that they are in the "group of death".

Milan managed to keep their players and are looking quite ferrotious this season. Being top of the league, I believe they will make it comfortably out of the group stages.
The first surprise of the bunch. Salzburg has a very promising team, with a deadly attack and an interesting defense. They may not be at the top of the league at the moment, but they will surprise a lot of people in the Champions League.
Chelsea is going through complicated times. With the owner thing and all. Having sold their bulk of the offence, I don't think they are going to be all that competitive. A third place is deserving in my opinion.
Zagreb may be looking nice, but I don't have much hope in them. They could snatch a third place, but its still a tad bit on the line of impossibility.

Celtic are the current Scottish champions and maitain the good form. The Europa Leagues accessing third place of looking very probable.
Shaktar Donetsk lost most of their foreign players reamaing a shell of its former self. They will suffer through this group stage and maybe even get a troubling 0 points of this.

Machester City is simply unstoppable. I hate to admit it, but I just can't see hiw they can't juat top this group with 15+ points. Håland is already averaging an amazing 6 goals in 4 matches and Pep is looking to finally lift the Champions League trophy.
Borussia Dortmund may have sold Håland but they still made amazing signings. Haller and Adeyemi are two incredible additions and they will prove to be the right choices.
Sevilla is going to their home comptetition, not even because they can't compete with the other two, but just because they don't want to deal with them.
København is just not at the same level. A well fought for 4th place awaits them.

The champions league finalist vs the Europa league finalist aswell as brittish show down. A 3rd place finish by rangers would be great as this a tough and close group but it's seeing how well rangers compare to these sides and improve.

As a Liverpool fan, I think Ajax will top the group. Liverpool will probably come 2nd (though tbh judging by our poor start in the Premier League, I wouldn't be surprised if we slipped big time here). I hope Liverpool wins the group and they have the ability too, just a question which Liverpool turns up, the one from last season or the one we are currently seeing now. Rangers definitely should not be underestimated especially due to their brilliant run in the Europa League and how they upset Dortmund and Leipzig, they could easily provide another upset if they could. Napoli are a solid side too and for a while they actually led Serie A last season.
I hope Liverpool wins the group but I honestly wouldn't be too surprised if we bottled it. We shall see, it's still early days (although I don't think Liverpool will win either the CL or PL now, we shall see though - we rely too much on aging and/or injury-prone midfielders).

I think a lot of people underestimate how insanely strong Ajax really is. I do confess that losing Martinez, Mazraoui and Tagliafico have left a large gap in defence but I am also excited and think that our midfield is packed with good options, our attack is insanely flexible and strong and I am really excited to see what our new signings in Bassey, Wijndal and Sanchez will bring to the table.
Many keep comparing Ajax’s strength to PSV’s but PSV has had a lot more preporation time and were quite early with all their transfers meaning they got a better start. Overall Ajax’s potential is so much higher

I think you underestimate the Bundesliga (top to leauge for me in front of la liga, sure there are the big 3 but apart from that theres not much in Bundesliga every team is competitive) to much Dortmund, Leipzig, Leverkusen and Frankfurt are quality teams very high european level. The one thing that stands out to me though is that Ajax and Napoli aren't the European powers they were a few seasons ago and will never have played in an atmosphere like Ibrox on a European night.
Liverpool and Rangers have never met in European competition before, so this is new ground for both teams.
I reckon Rangers can get 8 points from this group, two home wins against Ajax and Napoli, a draw in Amsterdam, and a sneaky draw in one of the other matches.
I think points will be dropped between the other teams when they play each other, so this group is up for grabs in my opinion.
Never underestimate Rangers in Europe, we've taken a few hefty scalps over the past few seasons, including Porto, Feyenoord, Dortmund and Leibzig.

As a Frankfurt Fan/ Rangers Sympathizer (since the finale, you guys had some of the best fans i had the honor to meet), i can relate to that. Even after our teams went through to the Europa League final, beating some highly ranked club, our clubs are still being underestimated. And i don‘t get it why. Benfica team is much better than last year, we had a good champions league run but a very dissapointing season overall. Although we lost Darwin we got Enzo Fernandez (better than Darwin) David neres, aursnes, Alexander bah, Joao Vitor… not to mention that with Darwin leaving Gonçalo Ramos has earned his spot as our striker and mark my words he is not leaving for less than 40million next year. We also now have a great coach in roger Schmidt who has won every single game since he has entered the club. The discussion about this group shouldn’t be psg vs juventus for the first spot but Benfica vs juventus for that 2nd 🦅🦅🦅

yes, barcelona in the last champions league was having problems but what about benfica? that had its president arrested for corruption and the coach (jorge jesus) was fired and then benfica had to play with the coach of team B, in the league they were also in bad shape finishing third and even so they reached the quarterfinals knocking down barcelona and ajax, this year roger shmidt is the new coach and he is fantastic, with his offensive scheme and high effort and resistance, against youths who are not at their peak and have very old players I think they will not be able to handle it with this style of play from benfica.
