    Less talk more loop.

    This is the first THR video I see that removes the unnecessary and shows off all the features one after the other without interruption. Sometimes that's exactly what you want.

      less talk more loops! ya I've done the same type of video with a couple other amps. It gets repetitive, but sometimes someone just wants to hear how it sounds without someone shredding on their guitar (which I can't do anyways :)

    I like the way you ran through all the settings using the looper. People that own the Yamaha THR5/10 amps usually really like them for the portability and good sound at lower volumes than a standard amp.

      Wade Wilson cool! what pedals have you tried?

    • @sirbaronvoncount4147
      @sirbaronvoncount4147 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      lando27music few dirt pedals and a boost. All worked good

    • @sirbaronvoncount4147
      @sirbaronvoncount4147 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      lando27music my only criticism is that there's a problem with the early ones that make it turn off when you play loud ( battery only) it may be fixed now

      What is the main difference between the THR10 and THR5 ? I have watched many demos of the 10 and it seems really cool. The 5 seems pretty much the same, just not as many clean channels ? Thanks

    • @landonbailey
      @landonbailey  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it's the size and number of channels/effects 😁🎸👍

    Not sure what I'm getting for my bedroom practice amp...one of these or Katana Mini.

    • @landonbailey
      @landonbailey  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I really think the Katana Mini is a great take-it-and-go amp. The THR seems to be more about using it as a recording tool. That's the impression I get

      Loopers are also good for checking your tone live. You can walk around the venue while the looper is going. I got that EHX one too. Love that you can store so many loops in that price range!

      Boxcar Stewart ya it's an awesome looper. great value

    The most important question is how does it take pedals? Lol. You don't have to answer since I know you probably will have a video for that in the future. Ha
    I bring over my fly 3 to my friends to jam instead of my big amps sometimes. Fly3 does good with pedals besides dirt. I wish there was a portable amp that took some dirt pedals. Im not picky I just don't like presets much compared to pedals. I like all your "Does it take pedal videos" and I never seen anyone show if these mini amps use pedals besides you. I was hoping the mini Katana took dirt better but it did have the cool overdrive channels . I took back the mini Katana because it wasnt much better or different than my fly 3 in my opinion . Keep up the good work man!

      J Steen These take pedals incredibly . ..I have a thr10...you have to hear them in the room to really believe the incredible sound. I've had the others and took them back...none hold a candle to these.....there is a reason you see these in the back ground of many well known guitarists interviews .

    • @landonbailey
      @landonbailey  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      it had so many fx built in, I really didn't see the need. also this: th-cam.com/video/KBD3HkwKL5w/w-d-xo.html

    • @kiezerkseresula5634
      @kiezerkseresula5634 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you think thr5 can handle also pedals like higain pedals?
      What its sounds? Thanks for reply..
      I need som idea cause I have one.😀😀😀

    • @landonbailey
      @landonbailey  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ya I think it should be able to handle high gain pedals on the clean channel. I'm not into high gain though, so I can't recommend any pedals. 👍😊🎸

      @landonbailey  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fer Ramirez It's on my list to do exactly that. will be part of my "how well does it take on FX pedals" watch for it in the next couple weeks hopefully 👍😁🎸

    Nice job !!! Hope your guitar showed up today !! ;)
    Btw everytime I hear 1 of these units .. it makes me wonder how many sales they have missed out making these into a combo amp !!

    • @landonbailey
      @landonbailey  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      ya should be here today I hope.
      I know Yamaha makes a THR head model, but I've never seen a combo. They would probably do well

  • @markstanford594
    @markstanford594 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I don't know. For 200 bucks I expected a bit more. Not a bad amp but not much depth to any of the of the channels. For 20 bucks more the Boss Katana 50 has it beat.

    • @MrBossei
      @MrBossei 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Mark Stanford Believe me. Boss Katana 50 is a real amp that works in a band AND at low volume at home. This is a toy compared to the Katana. Ok tones at low volume and sitting near though.

    • @billrand4138
      @billrand4138 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      its a desk top home amp completly different idea,,you could name any big 12" speakered amp from vox to line6 ,,apples and oranges

    • @markstanford594
      @markstanford594 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I got it, but from my point of view, if you are paying $200 bucks for a 5 watt amp, you should be getting a bit more for your money. I have a Fly3 that I paid $69 for that sounds better than the THR5. My expectations for the Fly3 were not that high though. Whatever works for you I guess.

    • @MrBossei
      @MrBossei 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. I also think the Blackstar Fly3 is a bargain and sounds better than the THR. Less effects but more natural tube-sounding. Fantastic little amp!

    • @MrBossei
      @MrBossei 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bill Rand Thought about this and yes, you are right. Its apples and oranges. The small speakers on the thr is more suited for low volume playing than Katana. (But Katana is perfectly ok for low volume)
