    This video is very misleading. They should have called it, "our Top 5 9mm Carbine Projects". Some of their guns are customized, self assembled/modded rigs. And I absolutely LOVE how they some of their "TOP" carbines have all kinds of problems, and yet are described as awesome firearms.

      Shot with my buddy's CX4 and i must say that the stock sights are a pain in the ass to use and i don't like the "cheapness" of the stock... was not impressed, at all. I personally own a JR and it really is a wonderful carbine.

    • @cujothedogofwar
      @cujothedogofwar 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@mantafelix How can a great rear aperture and a front post be difficult? I pulled it out the box and was nailing tight groups just casually from 30 yds or so. Having seen an M-16 original stock, buffer and spring go flying from just bouncing against an 80 pound pack at Parris Island in 1985, I think I can safely say that the Beretta Carbine's stock felt like a well balanced bullpup. Try low crawling with that JR and what looks to be a not very tightly held magazine. Besides, gas pistons rule.

      As a recent HP Carbine owner I ask that question too. I suppose if I could afford a 2000 dollar sbr, a 1000 dollar can and a couple of 200 dollar tax stamps I might be tempted to have a top 5 carbine in the closet. But instead I have a HP that works amazingly well and shoots to point of aim.

      Ran Kelvin I agree! I've got 3 Hi Point 9mm carbines, two 995TS models&the original stock that looks like a "planet of the apes" gun. They do what they're supposed to do,they've been reliable, everyone who's shot mine thinks they're fun to shoot,& I'm not concerned with what gun snobs think of them. The 20round Redball magazine is a sweet addition to the 10round magazines. I'll take a "take it out of the box&shoot it carbine" over a "fiddle with it till it works right" designer carbine anytime.

    Spikes Tactical Brown Recluse 9MM intergrally suppressed AR-9 Colt SMG mag fed and reliable. $1,849 done, and reliable! With a suppressor built in! And 21 baffles, for the super quietness. 115gr ammo even runs subsonic, as the barrel is ported and bleeds off any extra gas or velocity. So it’ll sound quiet regardless!

Since I live in SoCal with their stupid 10 round mag restrictions, it just doesn't make sense to buy a carbine made to run normal capacity mags that are illegal in CA.

    Should add the Stribog to the list. Around the same price as the CZ without all the polymer. Only down side is reciprocating charging handel and after market support.
    You mention the mp5 dosen't share mags with any handguns. Far as I know the CZ doesn't either. The ASA upper you have on you're AR9 is Nice. I have the ar15 version. Only down side is the gap that can let debris in.

    Buy a Kel-Tec Sub 2000 that accepts the same mag as your carry pistol. If you carry a Glock, look for the model that matches your Glock. If you don't own a Glock, buy the M&P model because it is a multi-mag by changing out the mag catch...so check if the mag catch for your carry pistol is available. Taurus PT model (111, G2c, 3Gc, etc.) can use the P226 mag catch.

    Guys, you've either forgotten or intentionally ignored another very fine choice...
    The Mech Tech carbine which comes in as well as several other popular calibers, can be fit to AR configuration and uses Glock magazines. I have it in .45 and it shoots great. The attraction here is that if you already have a Glock (or 1911) pistol
    the CCU *carbine conversion unit) ships right to your door as its an accessory and not a firearm as it uses the lower from
    your existing pistol. It only takes about 30 seconds to swap the lower from pistol to the CCU or you can get a second lower if you want to shoot two handed. ;)
    I think you should give this option much more credit as its Gen 2 configuration and options for overall configuration is highly under rated.
    I have the .45 in Glock, as mentioned, and with an extended capacity magazine mag and steel main assembly, the firepower is equivalent to a Thompson .45 yet has the configurability of an AR.
    Just sayin... Thanks for the quality videos.

    Hey guys... I really enjoy your videos, but in this case I’m a little confused. I thought the video was on pcc’s but the only one out of the box was the sub2k; the rest were custom builds, conversions to sbr, or machine pistols... it seems to me that you could have included the CX Storm, hi-point, Ruger PC 9, Kriss Vector... that would’ve covered all price points from $200-$2000, or at least given the ability to throw in an honourable mention... I still gave you the thumbs up, because you put a lot of time and effort into these videos, and they are always interesting and informative. Cheers 🍻

    I thought long and hard on my purchase and decided to go with the Ruger PC-9 carbine. Glock mags that match my 23/19 conversion and it's a takedown. AR platforms are all under the watchful eye of the ATF was my other reason.

    love your show guys. I have a quick question, is it easier to start with the tax stamp and build the sbr or build the pistol and have it just in case and to the forum 1?

    For anyone with hands on experience - All things considered between the PSA AR-9 and the CZ Scorpion Evo carbine which set up would you suggest? The PSA AR-9 is about $200 cheaper and will use the 30 or so Glock 17 mags I currently have on hand (yes total cost is always a factor) and the CZ Scorpion would require the purchase of additional mags. I plan to use a red dot optic like a Vortex Sparc II on either carbine set up so iron sights is not a consideration for me. The main focus for me is reliability then total cost (including magazine cost) then of course fun shooting so any advice or feedback that can be provided on helping me decide between the two guns would be greatly appreciated.

    TNW ASR in 10MM is as nice or nicer than any of those. It also comes in 9MM .40 ACP .45 and 22LR it's interchangeable multi caliber, can be broke down to fit in a small pack. It's light very easy to handle. Has an AR type lower, side charging handle. Really good shooter... Great firearm. Similar to that JR

    These JR Carbines have me intrigued. I've always liked take-downs and I often do "pairings" in my collection. The JRs paired with Glocks can give you a 2 gun/1 platform/1 caliber setup which makes for simplicity as well as economy. Since I don't do Glocks and have many 1911s in 9mm & .45ACP, I think I deserve a pair of JRs in 9mm &.45ACP. Don't you agree? Mix & match can be very fashionable!

      @ericb.4358 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gunwrites, like you I have "paired" carbines and pistols randomly: ->Ruger 96/22 magnum lever action rifle (yep, RUGER once made them) & RUGER single Six in .22 magnum ->FN PS90 & RUGER 57 ->RUGER 9mm PC chassis carbine & Glock 17 ->Winchester 94 in 44 mag. & TAURUS 44 mag revolver (And yes, I like most RUGER firearms.)
      I just had one so decided to get a "companion".

    Very interesting video.
    I would be very interested in the general topic of pistol carbines, especially muzzle velocity and -energy for different pistol calibers (.40, .45, 357 SIG) and different barrel lengths. How much more energy do (powerful) pistol cartriges provide from longer barrels (chrony + calculator but also gelatine)?
    Do they have appropriate use besides plinking, e.g. home defense (less penetration?)?
