    Rock solid groove. And I love that the Ultra P bass sounds somehow creamy and dirty (in a very good way) at the same time. This PJ bass is wabi-sabi.

      The Creamy sound was with the preamp off, it almost sounds better with the preamp off, but it does come
      alive for funk bass, or rock bass. but yea really Creamy sounding normal output pickups

      @@cliffords2315 I completely agree. I hadn’t thought of it that way, but when I played one I kept it in passive mode most often.

    Fender has topped itself again. Beautiful wide range tone with all of the high end features one needs for a long lasting bass. Beautiful appointments, fantastic neck. Make mine 3 tone sunburst!

    • @Blkglssjw
      @Blkglssjw 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@tomjrmurray8189I sure did, and it actually came on Thursday. I sure can't complain about it arriving a day early! I woke up, took a look at my phone, and after seeing a text message from my roommate saying "your bass is here"! I don't think I've ever gotten out of bed that fast at any point in my life so I shot up out of bed like a rocket and ran out to the great room to see it sitting there waiting on me. This bass passes in all areas, it looks, feels, and sounds amazing!

      As one who owns one I can say It’s beautiful and feels really nice but it’s weak on low end. Highs and mids are nice but weak on bottom. Turns out co worker owns this also and he ended up using an eq pedal to compensate .

    Guy has one local with upgraded tuners and pickups for $1500. I’m not much of a bass player but it’s a $2300-2400 setup all day. and I love that deep funky groove so about time I learn.

      The pick ups are completely redesigned. Built closer to the original fender pickups sound. I have an elite and a ultra. The ultra has considerable warmth with the tone rolled off. I was able too pull more vintage tones out of it than my elite. Also the himass bridge is really nice and a considerable improvement.

    I've been waiting year's to buy a Precision Bass as I've been busy rebuilding my bass guitar collection back up again & it was a choice between the Fender Deluxe Active Precision Bass Guitar or this Fender American Ultra Precision Bass Guitar & since there's only a few differences I went with the Ultra in a sweet Plasma Red Burst Finish...
    Admittedly I would've preferred the String Through that's on Deluxe but High Mass Bad Ass Bridge on the Ultra will compensate for this...
    I know that for year's now Fender like Gibson (as just 2 examples) have only been making minor tweaks & changes here & there & hence why I wasn't in a rush to buy a Precision Bass before I bought my other basses first but at least (& the elitist can say what they want) I'm not paying the money on a Precision Bass that hasn't seen any changes what so ever since it was first released as that smacks of laziness & capitalising purely on the Brands name...
    In my local guitar store they are selling different variations of the Precision Bass but when I saw one the most expensive (out with the Ultra) P Bass Guitars which was nearly £2K but was just the exact same bass since launch I decided to go with a more hod rodded & modern version for £100 less...
    I get that many like & prefer the original Precision Bass just as it was when it was first released & a lot of them will use the usual
    " If it's not broken don't fix it "
    But I'm not paying nearly £2K for an American built Precision Bass that hasn't been updated since its launch, as equipment for delivering sound gets better then we need better guitar's that'll sound better on the constant evolving changing equipment we use & I've known too many bassist's who bought a Precision Bass only to swap out the picks up months down the line as they can't cut it but each to their own...
    .....

And my cousin insists that oranges are superior to apples in every way. And that cool ranch Doritos are superior to nacho cheese flavor in every way. When asked why, he simply says, "Because I say so. So it must be."
