This was so easy! My 17 year old daughter and I did it without any issues. We just followed step by step! Thank you. Saved me $250 and literally took us about 10 minutes.

Instructions were pretty accurate but I took the hint from another comment and used a small flat bar to separate the magnets. Super fast and easy with no damage to the cover. Unfortunately, the caps were amongst the missing so I used a suggestion from a second comment and used foam earplugs. (Ya gotta work FAST, though!!). I also took off my smartwatch before I started messing with the magnets. I figured that magnets and a wrist computer would probably be a bad combination...

The instructions are very straight forward and accurate. The only issue my husband and I had was moving each flexible base. I was not tall enough (I’m 5’4) or strong enough to carry it to another room. We had to place it on a furniture dolly to move to the other room. We did not break up once! 😂

I have a split king sleep number bed and I really love it except for one thing. You can not move the bed to vacuum or clean underneath it. So what do they make us do? That’s right, you have to disassemble the bed to get a good cleaning where the bed was and reassemble the bed afterwards. I believe Sleep Number should design their beds with rollers/wheels so they could be moved enough for people to vacuum up all that accumulated dust underneath, like I have.

Hope this helps someone in the future - our caps were under the mattress, loose, one on each side, near the magnet above the button on the side. No wonder they get lost all the time. Why wouldn't there be one place to tape a bag with the caps - why wouldn't that be a standard practice? Hoping I won't need to move again for a few years.

You are willing to pay someone to take it apart for a move because its so expensive and they tell you "a technician won't be in your area for 5 weeks" again i paid $8600 you would think the service would be better. I wish i would have know about the poor service before i bought the bed. I will let everyone know before they buy a bed you are on your own if you need help with something

Be careful when attempting to break the connection between the mattress and the magnets (as shown at 2:29). If the connection doesn't break easily, considering getting a screwdriver to wedge in between the magnets to separate them (and still be careful). Using the technique shown in the video, I was successful in breaking the connection a few times, then one magnet wouldn't let go. I was persistent in my repeated attempts and ultimately ripped the magnet from the bottom of the mattress cover.
I called Sleep Number customer service and informed them that I followed their instructions carefully but ending up damaging the mattress cover, suggesting that they modify that technique and update the video. They simply offered to sell me a replacement bag for $286.12 (including shipping).

There’s always something and no one has been able to help us. My husband sleeps o. That side of the bed. And as you can imagine, it’s not comfortable. So I guess for us who have a queen non split flexfit “F us” right?! Are we supposed to take the frame without dismantling it? Because the parts for step 7-8 are non existent or connections are different except for the legs. How are we supposed to remove the frame from the rail? There are no speed screws and the connections are different. Only way I see it is either disconnecting every single cable to not damage it and that requires removing a bunch of screws all over the rail and frame or just load it up like that and may God help you carrying it and not screwing up the cables
