I don't think so. She is just telling the court what she wants them to hear. It is in her personality to be controlling. She is where she needs to be. She allowed Jodi to program to be cruel and ruin her marriage. Jodi destroys men for fun.
I. Casual Cricut user. I don’t sell my creations, I gift cards and projects. I have items that I’ve bookmarked but can’t make because it requires the larger mat. I am still having issues finding files. I know much is my fault for not mastering my machine and software, but if it was more user friendly I could do more and learn more. Thank you for your video, maybe Cricut will respect your thoughts and make a concerted effort to improve the software. All users, no matter what machine they have should be able to create what they want without being stopped for software reasons.
FINALLY…..an expert that acknowledges the frustration! Thank you! Here’s hoping Cricut hears you and puts some resources toward program development & improvements!!!
I end up in tears too often when trying to create and wasting materials when things fail. I was convinced I was making errors but I am relieved to see that it's not just me.
Oh it's NOT you! Hours and HOURS of crying! Hundreds of dollars in paper & printer Ink spent when up until early morning hours so as to not let kiddos down because I thought I MUST be doing something wrong, either that or my 2 & 1/2 yr old machine must be outdated.. WOW this is 👏! Thank you soooo much for this! 🤗
What I notice is how it freezes all the time. I wonder if their server is big enough for all the users. I have owned a cricket ever since the first little green one came out, and I love the Innovation from Gypsy to design space. However, I hate how it freezes and I have very high speed Internet.
I am in tears .. i haven’t even finished your video and had to respond! I have been struggling with design space for over a week- it freezes up, slow response to text creations in DS, my tool bar is wonky- my measurements require a drop down rather than on the same line as the other functions. I thought it was my laptop.. I have uninstalled my Cricut and DS, only for the same issues. I’m not a pro, I’m a novice but use my explore 3 almost daily. I’ve been so frustrated. I’ll finish your video now.
Yea I've spent countless hours losing my mind, crying, screaming, & ready to explode. The materials aren't cheap, so when you're wasting a bunch of it, it breaks your heart. I've probably wasted hundreds in materials because of these issues.
I have a Cricut Maker, a Silhouette Cameo Plus, and now I have the Sisar Romeo. I have to say that I have not used my Cricut machine in a very long time. The software is so far beneath the Silhouette design studio that it’s laughable. And now, with the new Sisar machines, they are top-notch, as well as their design software. Cricut as a company make so much money on their products and you can’t even share a design with someone who does not have Cricut’s software. Both silhouette and Sisar’s software give you the capability of saving your work onto your computer so that you can use it elsewhere or share it. Cricut’s priorities are more about making money than building a community.
I regret buying the cricut a few months ago. Alli wanted watched was how to do various crafts with cricuts but never compared it to other brands as thought cricut was top notch. And now learning the bitter truth of cricut and its limitations compared to other brands like siser, silhouette or other plotters on the market which are more customer friendly and less of a money making brand that does not care bout its community with so many restrictions
I buy both htv and vynal from both Cricut and Sisar. I only have a cricut, havn't tried the other machines and software as I don't have the space, but certain vynals and htv's the product is better than the other. Sisors glitter vyanl is way better for out door use than Cricut hollo graphic sparkle sheets. Thiers fade in the sun where as Sisar's don't. That's just with the sparkle/glittery stuff that I notice a different in quality. Plain colours on both seem fine. I do say Sisar has some neat patterned sheets I like, where Cricut only has pattern sheets in infusable ink sheets. Would be nice if they opened up that variety to thier regular iron ons too instead of only solid colors and glitter for choices. Where I was going with use of products/materials I guess for me I'm not faithful to only one brand myself too.
Thanks for the info. I’ll return my Cricut. It isn’t worth using when it isn’t worth it to Cricut to make it a worthy product anymore. It shouldn’t be that difficult or expensive to use. Shameful.
Wow - I had an older Silhouette and abandoned it because the Cricut community seemed so much larger (just a home hobbyist) and bought the Maker. Thank you for your comment. I may have to rethink...
I've been a Cricut user for over 17 years now. I appreciate your transparency Tanner...which I absolutely love about you and The Makers Gonna Learn team. If they don't start getting back to focusing on their consumer..those of us who actually pay for their machines by turning out better software..I'll have to consider moving along to another brand.
YESSSSSS!!! All these!!! Most frustrating to me is discovering the cut pressure has mysteriously been changed and the vinyl wasn’t cut all the way through! This happens randomly and is only discovered after vinyl is wasted (not to mention the most precious wasted resource…my time!). Customer support can’t explain why machine randomly changes pressure setting for vinyl (100% not user error…their machine, their setting, their vinyl!). Ughhhhh!!! Thank you for speaking up….super important coming from someone who could be affected adversely from Cricut. Honesty and loyalty over person profit…YOU ARE AMAZING!!!!
I thought it was my Maker just not cutting well anymore! I have a terrible time getting Premium Vinyl to cut all the way through even with a new blade and more pressure!!!
I have become more and more discouraged because, yes, every time I use my cricut/design space, I have issues! I have had to give up on projects because it just took me too long to figure everything out. I and others consider myself very knowledgeable about most things crafty, but I honestly thought it was me. Thank you for speaking up ❤ I feel much better and will re-consider throwing in the towel on all things cricut! Very grateful for your honesty!
I've been trying for 3 days to make my projects due this week. Design Space keeps freezing, kicking me out, or just won't open. I could seriously pull my hair out!!! 😩
@@rbcreations2 Oooo ... Is there a Y.T. vid on THAT product?? I've seriously n e v e r had ANY interest in Cricut after finding out one needs to CONTINUE to pay their company money after spending "$$ hundreds" on the initial purchase. I DID spring for a Brother DESIGN'n'Cut when they showed up at Tuesday Morning back when, but I've been negligent in learning its "How-To's".
As soon as Cricut went public, their primary focus was their shareholders, the majority of which I would guess, are not crafters or have any remote idea of the products and services Cricuts original business model focused on. Investors focus on balance sheets. Which don't always align perfectly with the company's clientele. It is a fact of commercial life. Cricut isn't the first to abandon the people who got them to such a level they could now play high finance, and they certainly won't be the last.
I have experienced a few things lately, but the mat size automatically changing has been so frustrating. Thank you to Makers Gonna Learn for holding Cricut accountable… 🙏❤️🤞
@jenniehilligus hi, it's happened to me as well, so I'll explain. You have your project arranged and set for a 12 x 12 mat, but when you hit next to make it, it's suddenly formatted and arranged for a 12 x 24 in mat.
18:28 I got my Cricut in November of 2021 so all I know is glitches and just figure out how to move past the issues with the help of people like you. Thank you guys for being great teachers.
Bravo, Tanner!!! I appreciate not only your honesty, but also the kind way you address these issues when you are speaking directly to the company. I’m praying that Cricut hears you (and all of us who have taken the time to comment). We have all invested lots of money into working with our Cricut (as well as our monthly Cricut Access charge). They should have more than enough income to prevent these glitches from happening. We are so blessed to have you represent our collective voice! ❤
I canceled my subscription because I was so frustrated with the constant download process and then when it did I would get that slow loading circle of death. Thank you for sharing this information and speaking for all of us! I learned to use my cricut watching you and your team and so agree with you. .
Access is truly not worth it. When you are unsubscribed the project you’ve made with access products you didn’t actually purchase are done for. You won’t even be able to make them again because it will want you to purchase ever single item you used from their library 😕
Tanner, thank you for speaking out. We can always count on you to stand beside us. You and your team are the best Cricut friends! I am happy that the CEO took notice of your video. If the company makes changes to make our lives easier and make us love Cricut again, we all owe you a huge debt of gratitude. ❤
My husband and I have a cricut maker, purchased to replace an original machine with the cartridges. Took a long time to decide whether to stay with cricut or go with something else. We hardly use it because we have had so much trouble working with design space. While neither of us are computer geniuses, we never anticipated so much frustration. Thank you for addressing software issues and being so down to earth with your abilities and frustrations. We will be viewing your videos for instructions in future.
I’ve still got, and use on a daily basis, my Cricut Expression ( I also have three spares!) Right from the start I said that I wouldn’t touch the Explore with a ten foot barge pole. Cricut does not care about it’s customers. As long as they are making money they don’t give a stuff about cricut users
Tanner, I’ve been using my Cricut for about 1 1/2 years. Recently I’ve had trouble with the software freezing up my computer plus, I’ll send a job to my Cricut and for some reason it won’t finish the job. So I have to turn off my Cricut and basically pull whatever I’m cutting and physically pull it out of the machine. It’s almost as if the software isn’t completing the instructions to the cutter. I’m spending more time fixing glitches than I do actually making my projects. Glad you are advocating for us users.❤
I have been so frustrated with constant updates every time I open design space n lately have had problems with making stickers with new functionality! Thanks Tanner for standing up.
I agree with you. I haven’t used my Cricut for almost a year, because it just became too frustrating. I craft for pleasure, and if it causes me total frustration it isn’t worth my time.
Thank you Tanner and MGL for advocating for all crafters. When I’m struggling with designs I thought it was my ignorance, became frustrated and walked away. Thank you again.
THANK YOU! The amount of time and materials I’ve wasted the past few months with design space is ridiculous! It’s been erasing images - layers - even entire files of projects I had saved. Having me redo projects from scratch again or realizing that the project didn’t print the same as the preview is beyond frustrating. Even though I own 5 Cricut machines, I have been contemplating switching to a whole other system just because the software has been such a nightmare to deal with.
I thought it was just me! I’ve had literally whole projects go blank. I can see them in my projects, but when I go to make or customize, it’ll be blank and usually the uploaded images used are blank then too when I try to put them on a canvas. So many hours of formatting lost on projects I do repeatedly. 😢
@@brittannydacy8739 YES! Honestly, aside from being frustrating, it's unacceptable. Especially when most of us pay for the subscription in order to use the sofrware "extras".
Tanner, You are correct in your assessment. I find myself crafting less, because I don't have time to manage the issues I have experienced with design space. Print and cut does not work well and calibrate is unreliable. A friend struggles daily with mat issues and design space freezing up completely and has wasted material as a result of these issues. I recently purchased a material compatible for use with a deep-cut blade only to have the deep-cut blade damage the material and require that I purchase the knife blade and new material. Thanks for keeping it real for everyone.
I don't have a Cricut Access subscription but I can't imagine the frustration of those who do. Not being able to use it to the full capability they need, yet still having to pay for full access? So glad you're speaking up.
This is why I refuse to go the subscription route. Every time a company does that, they eventually screw the customer. Just look what is happening with Adobe right now. If I buy a machine and software, I should still be able to use both of them 10 years from now, even if the company goes belly up.
Thank you Tanner! And no it’s not just you! I experience glitches and other weird things. One thing I’ve noticed that has changed is my mat defaults to 12x24. I may have used this size once or twice. So I have to change my mat size with every print or just ignore it. This is very frustrating! Again thank you Tanner for having this conversation👏🏾👏🏾
I use my Cricut every day and have orders to complete for my small business. I have run into some very unfortunate issues with Cricut this week. My undo button no longer works AT ALL. Only about 50% of my SVG files will upload and the others either have an error message or just completely disappear. My fonts from previous projects that I have reopened to make have changed. Some of the fonts I have are attached to an image and flattened for print then cut but somehow have changed to “Arial” font while still attached and flattened and even warped. I’ve had to delay orders and start others over. I hope Cricut resolves these soon!! Thank you for you video! I was relieved to see you guys were having similar experiences. I watch you guys all the time!
As a software developer, I can work with the software. I can see how it would frustrate people with not as mh technical knowledge or experience, which cricut should address. Regression is definitely a problem, they should work on. My suggestion is get rid of the automatic updates. Let the user decide if they want to update. Act like a true software company provided a robust product.
I totally agree with you. Design space can definitely improve. Every project I do takes me a lot longer than I think it should because of work arounds. I hope Cricut listens!!
100% agree! I’ve wasted money and materials because the circuit design space placed my images wrongly more than once or twice. It’s pretty frustrating. I hope Cricut steps up their game as well. We invest so much time and money into our crafting and depend so much on them that they should see the need for improvement. Thank you for speaking to this and putting it out there!
Nailed it on the head, Tanner! I have had some random issues with the colour of text, I flatten the whole image of course, I could have text in a few different places, when I go into add image or come out and go back in to my project, all of my text goes back to grey!! Meaning I have to unflatten change everything back to the right colour then re flatten again! Absolute nightmare!!!! Honestly so close to closing the machine down for good!
My experience was the blade on my fine point cutter that came in my Cricut maker bundle was dull. Never had anyone mentioned that you had to buy extra blades to change them out. I got so aggravated with it that I put it up for over a year. At that time I read everything on Cricut's website, watched all of their videos, everything. It was until I saw a Cricut video was actually on TH-cam. So I searched on TH-cam for Cricut how-to-videos and came across one of your videos about doing projects on a Cricut and the different places you & your team got supplies and replacements. So I searched Amazon and eBay and found the different angle degree blades for all the Cricut cutters. Now, thanks to your videos I am back learning how to use & master my Cricut maker so that I can start a business making Home Decor with it. Thanks so very much for all you & your team do for all crafters.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.
I worked in software as a quality analyst as well as in support. The one thing I can tell you is that developers do not like stopping new projects to fix what they broke. I have not been a fan of Design Space for over a year now because of all the unaddressed issues. Print then Cut worked for a short while, now I am not willing to even try. Thank you Tanner for speaking out. I hope Cricut heard and listened to you.
I agree with you. Every time I go to use my Cricut, I wonder what is not going to work. It definitely should not be so much hassle to use a machine I paid so much money for. Mine is choosing 12 x 24 mat every time I make it. This has been happening for a couple of months now. The latest issue I have is while trying to move a text box. The actual text will move once but if I try to click on it to move it again, the bounding box will appear wherever the text box was before I ever moved it. It will just be a blank bounding box 3 - 4 inches away from the actual text. I absolutely hate the size limitations on print and cut. We should be able to print the actual size of the paper. Maybe they need to make a separate print but not cut feature that is just for sublimation or dtf prints where you can print the actual size of the paper but not cut the design using Cricut. It's so frustrating. Thank you for speaking out.
The back button!!! As someone who is learning it's a feature I NEED!! I have also been having the 12x24 mat glitch. When I know for a fact that it fits on a 12×12
That was excellent Tanner, I am fairly new to Cricut. I received a machine in 2022 for Christmas, so I've only been using Cricut for a little over a year. I often thought that the errors were something I was doing wrong and not a Cricut error. I would watch MGL and appreciate seeing you guys have some of the same problems. I can't wait to see the response back from Cricut. Thank you for stepping up for all of us.
All true and thank you for making this video. On various FB groups members often complain about glitches. The font thing is just utterly ridiculous and it took me a while as a new user to figure that out. The most recent annoying glitch I’ve encountered is the random change of the mat size. I often leave a project for a few days to let cricut resolve their issues. Thanks again for being a voice that I hope Cricut will listen to.
Tanner, I applaud you for making this video! Today, my husband ordered me the StarCraft Solo machine, because he can’t bare to hear me complain about the glitches, the constant lagging, images disappearing when moving from one mat to another in the “make it” screen, etc. any longer. My biggest complaint to date is the lag time in creating an offset to a 2” or 3” image. I kid you not, Friday evening, I wanted to get some stickers made with images I’ve had downloaded and loaded into design space for several weeks now. The past three weeks I’ve not been able to add an offset to more than two images in my saved projects. I timed the process of adding an offset from start to finish Friday evening. It took a total of 45 minutes to add an offset, size it accordingly and save it. 45 MINUTES! For ONE image!!!!! Unacceptable! Again, thank you for using your voice on the Cricut Design Space issues. I sure do hope Cricut sees your video and changes are in the future. Until then, I’ll be learning a new software program in order to use the new machine that has just been ordered today!
I'm so glad you spoke on this because every single time somebody voices frustration over software issues in a Cricut group most of the responses will be about computer specs and/or user error😢
Totally agree with you Tanner...glad to see that someone is actually standing up for us and hope that cricut sees and listens to what you have said..waiting fir the lag ti end so I can actually do something and the glitching in between is very frustrating...thank you for your input on this
Agree completely with everthing you brought up. I was a system engineer testing software. You expect glitches in beta, but final releases should be flawless & if not be addressed immediately. Unfortunately companies have become lazy or just don't care. Like you said make them accountable & do better!
Thank you for being the advocate that so many of us need. I have been using a Cricut machine since October 2020. I have to say, that I know without the machine, my crafting abilities would be far less. I am grateful for this design system. BUT, OMG YES to all the things you pointed out. This past two weeks I have been working on a big project and had nothing but glitches, things disappearing, and not able to find the fonts that I had previously installed on my laptop. My BIGGEST frustration is that my computer and my machine no long find each other. When I am ready to start cutting out material, I have to connect my laptop with the USB cord because it says No Device Found! When I look in my system on my computer, the machine is a connected and paired device. This has been for the past two months or so. I know that it did this before, AFTER a Cricut update and was fixed but this time it has not been fixed. That was one of the many features I loved but now am so frustrated that my devices must be connected to my laptop to cut.
Thank you Tanner. I hope Cricut watches this post. Something definitely needs to be done. I love my cricut machines, and looking forward to retire soon to do more crafting. Before I retire, I plan on buying another cricut. However, with these issues happening, I need to do research on other cutting machines. 😢 I hope Cricut takes care of these issues.
I feel the same way. When I first bought my Cricut over 8 years ago, I thought it was my computer instead of cricut software. It was very frustrating crating a craft project using cricut. I said I was not going to buy another new version . My husband surprised me with a new Cricut Maker for Christmas and I still experience the same issues 😂
Omg Tanner thank you I’m just starting to dive in and learning new things and noticed so many glitches that I just put the machine aside for a break because I was getting so frustrated. I really hope they get it together
I have started doing other crafts because Design Space is frustrating. I have followed you since December 2018. Bought a Maker and was so excited. Last 2 years, not so much. Thank you for all you do.
Thanks Tanner! I experience all of the same issues you’ve mentioned here and it is frustrating beyond belief. Like many makers and small business owners, many of my products are made to order. If the software is not functioning properly when I attempt to make the goods for my customer, this puts strain on my ability to provide what I have promised. It is frustrating and I hope Cricut will step up their game, bc I am a huge fan and want the best for the company and all of us makers!
Perfect!! Thank you. I thought it was just me....I've been having so many issues lately. It takes a long time to load. Saving my project issues and weird font distortion. I literally thought it was me or my computer. I'm sadly relieved that it's not just happening to me. I hope Cricut pays attention and corrects the major software issues.🙏
I haven’t noticed the exact issues u talked about but one thing that seems to happen A LOT for me is this: I use design space so much that I just leave it open on my Mac all the time. Whenever I need to update and haven’t my “undo” feature stops working. This is EXTREMELY frustrating! U really don’t know how crucial “undo” is until u don’t have it! Updating usually fixes this issue but there have been one or two times it hasn’t and I’m just forced to live with it until it decides to “fix itself”.
I literally fell on this video and have never watched a single video you have out there. I am an acrylic pouring artist and I have been exploring how Cricut could take my projects to the next level. I have not purchased any Cricut products yet, and now wondering if I should even attempt it at this point. I watched the entire video and still would like to thank you for your insights on it's current state.
You have garnered my respect. I cant remember when one person got up and said "with all due respect" but you need to address your product as a company. it does not just harm you as a customer but you lose attention and customers when you sell a product that is not performing properly. Tanner....you merit all of us respect and a "thank you".
Hadn’t used circuit for a while and when I did the design space had changed so much it gets so frustrating I just quit and try something else to arrive at the same place. I want my old design space back where I knew how to work it.
I have been a diehard dedicated Cricut customer since the Original Create machine and cartridges!! For the first time ever, I started looking at other software options and machines, bc I have been having so many issues with Design Space over the past several months. I use to use my Cricut 3-4 days a week and I literally haven’t used it in 2 months. It makes me so sad. Cricut is an incredible company that changed my personal life, also. I’m praying they can start getting the software back up to date after they spent so much time on all the new machine launches! I have faith in them. Thank You for speaking up.
Thank You!!! Communication is the key to growth and knowledge. I respect content creators who are transparent, honest, and keep things real. Mistakes along the way are going to happen but it’s best to acknowledge it. Listen for feedback, share experiences, and find new ways to make the product even better. By addressing the issues it does not take away from how great the product is sometimes companies lose their way and get caught up in the finances of making money over keeping the original product functional. I’ve been so frustrated with this product app that has about to give up on it but hearing you speak on it lets me know that it’s not just me. It’s actually the app. Thanks again keep doing what you’re doing because it’s the right thing.
Thank you for this video. I watched it the day it came out. Glad they responded to the concerns, but want to say nothing has changed. As a matter of fact, it’s worse 😩
I have been a user since 2021, and I have always thought this was me! I am grateful to your feed and others--without them, I think the glitches would have made me sell off my Cricut and my mug press, and all my associated tools and supplies. I am both relieved and discouraged that so many others experience problems as well. Thanks for shining the light.
Thank you so much for addressing these issues. I get on DS about 1-2 times a week and I get anxiety wondering if it will even work. This last weekend I was trying to do something very very basic (contour a single word) and it kept glitching. I finally had to just go with a similar image I had saved before so I could start my project. I went to another site to ask if anyone else was having issues and pretty much got beat down for even suggesting it was not working flawless. How is that helpful? Love your site. It is always fun to follow along on one of your projects.
so frustrated !!! Paying for a access subscription and not being able to complete projects like i used to. Thanks for sharing I thought I was having memory loss or something. things just keep going wrong don't work like they did before.
When I first bought my cricut I couldn’t believe how hard it was to navigate through the design space software. I also cannot believe how expensive everything was even with the subscription. I ended up buying canva and uploading my designs to cricut when I wanted to use my explorer 3. The machine is absolutely amazing. The cricut design space, not so much. Now I am by far a beginner and have a TON to learn. But my first reaction to design space was that they are more interested in getting as much money as possible than fixing issues and being loyal to their customers.
I literally almost went out and bought a whole new computer this morning thinking my computer was done for when design space wouldn’t load for me (it took over an hour just for it to load) .. come to find out it really was just design space. But that’s how big of a problem I think this is ..
you are so right on Tanner. Cricut has been so frustrating. The product lost because of their mistakes has made me wonder if I should stay with them. Thank you for speaking out !
This video is spot on! When. Do have an opportunity to craft, I find myself avoiding my Cricut. I will be retiring soon and have been so looking forward to really diving in. MGL member for years and not very active because my time is so limited. It seems to me that Cricut should be paying close attention to what is being said here and refocus its mission, vision and values back to its users and customers. It’s pretty obvious that if the company would do that, it wouldn’t have to worry about its profits for its shareholders because happy people would continue to shop there. Seems to me the CEO has forgotten about this. His first step should be to call you, Tanner, and schedule a meeting! Thank you for what you do for the community!
I love my Cricut but i have started researching other machines. Thank you Tanner for pulling this issue to the surface. The software needs work and I'd be thrilled to keep my Cricut if it does
Tanner you are so right about this. I am very happy to see that you are making these comments and I hope Cricut management sees them. I really wish all the other influencers would also get on this. Things need to be fixed or they are going to lose a lot of customers and we all are going to lose a crafting tool that we love!!! Thank for you being brave enough to speak out.
Hello Tanner, I am 68 years old and just received a Cricut Maker this past year and have had so many problems with Design Space that I guess I quit using it, before I really got started because I couldn't use the program. I really thought it was me because I'm old and not tech savvy. Now, thanks to you, I don't feel so bad and maybe I will try again later on to use my Cricut. God bless you and Makers Gonna Learn. 😇
Omg! I so agree with you on this! Cricut needs to fix all the flaws in their software instead of coming out with newer upgraded machines. What should take me a less than an hour to do something in design space actually takes me over an hour or so which in turns I loose money and material on project I’m working on.
After my cricut died on me right after the warranty period, I quit cricut and got myself a scan n cut. I love my Scan n cut! Faster, quieter, easier, there are things I can do offline!
I have been not as an active or Cricut user lately because life has been happening. Even though in the past I was very experienced and knowledgeable. So when I have used it recently I thought it was me just being “rusty”. This makes me feel better to know it wasn’t just me. It made me be like I don’t have time to even get back into using this because of these stupid issues. I am single mother of 5 boys I can’t afford to be wasting time or materials. Also I think that this video is amazing and brave. Like you mentioned a lot of people could potentially take this the wrong way but I think you 100% did the right thing making this video. I think it makes you more genuine and when I get back into being able to craft more regularly plan to sign back up for your stuff. I think even regardless of the work arounds getting fixed you will still be needed and I think more people will choose you because you were up front and “our” side as opposed to seeming to just be for Cricut regardless what they are doing. Keep up the great work and the honesty! ❤❤ I hope Cricut listens up and does something to make it better. Like you said at their core I don’t think there was any plan of it going this route for them. Unfortunately when you get other influences coming in that you have to impress it can sometimes back things go in the wrong direction.
WOW...repeat...WOW! Like one of the other comments, I thought it was me. I've been using a Cricuit since the little 'personal machine' with layover keypads/cartridges, I personally purchased to use at my job - 18+ years! I am NOT an expert but have done work and personal projects with each of the machines for employer, family, friends, etc. I have been using the Maker for quite a few years and perfectly happy with it as I have been retired for 11 years. Cricuit customer service has always been exceptional - I haven't had to call them in a long time. But, as you were describing, there have been crazy issues. I just have not taken the time to call and say 'hey, what's the deal with this...'. I will be watching for updates from them and your site. It's comforting knowing I'm not alone in this. I do love my Cricuit machine and software. Please Cricuit, pay attention, keep up the good service and product - that is such a rarity these days.
My Maker sat in the box for a year and you all are the reason I started my Cricut journey. I LOVED it. Thank you for that. It didn't take me long to realize how restrictive and limiting DS is. DS is their weak spot, and like you said -there is no option. Well there is, and I just did it. I bought a Siser Juliet. I got tired of the install/uninstall/reinstall/recalibrate/rinse, repeat. I realized my love for Cricut died when I started wincing/groaning whenever I had to open DS. I didn't mind their proprietary attitude toward their own content, but not letting me keep my own?!? In this day and age? Not being able to delete multiple images or projects -instead of having to do every. single. one. separately? Who does that anymore? Cricut was my best friend for a long time, but I guess I have outgrown it. It was easy to learn, but I want to be happy crafting again, and that means leaving it behind. I wish you well, sweet Tanner. You've been my rock and I appreciate you! Good luck. If they don't listen to you, well... they don't deserve to be around anymore. Oh yeah, and recently the bluetooth decided not to play anymore. Luckily I could still connect USB. (That was the last straw.)
I love Cricut, but I had to purchase a Silhouette Cameo Pro so I could cut decals larger than 12" (I bought this a year before the Cricut Venture). I am also a self-taught graphic designer. With this in mind, I can easily upload my SVG to Silhouette, but Cricut Design Space gives me a hassle if the file is too intensive. Tanner you are not crazy, thank you for being transparent and for being our voice.
Thank you Tanner for speaking out. I use DS for all my projects. The frustration I experienced over the past several months is unreal. I have wasted money on my projects when DS isn't working properly. So thank you for saying what all is us feel.
I'm so very happy to learn i am not alone!!!!!! I was very close to selling everything! I actually started thinking I was just too old to learn about a new computer, and software issues ..... big thank you Tanner !
Thank you so much for sharing! As a Cricut user, I have been so frustrated with patterns. I can barely see the options in the dropdown menu. Then, once chosen, when I edit the pattern to fit just the way I want and accept it, it looks nothing like what I had just edited. It had been so frustrating. I finally made a square, selected the pattern, made it larger, put my image over it where I wanted it and did a slice. That's just crazy. This should be much simpler. Thank you for taking the time to listen. God bless you.
OMG YES! Things disappear, move, don't show, fail during save, mark things as proprietary when they're my work. I can generally work around it, but I have had mine since 2018. I can't imagine how negatively this impacts new buyers. I thought my projects were too complex for cricut, but its not me! 😅
Thank you so much for sharing. For all these issues you mentioned, is main the reason my Cricut is now on the bottom shelf of my Craft Cabinet. I use another Cutter now and my sanity is preserved for now. I will wait a while and look forward to any updates you get. Until Cricut addresses these issues, I will hold off on any future purchases. I am not willing to purchase files and be unable to use them because the software crashes, or even worse, work on a very time consuming original project and then lose it when the software fails. I want the Love/Love relationship with my Cricut back, not the Love/Hate one I have now. Thank you for all you do Tanner, you are a wonderful instructor and I have enjoyed watching you grow these last years.
Yes! I've got my first cricut 8 or 9 years ago. The software was easy for me to learn and I enjoyed it. Now I have 2 machines and every time that I need to use design space I actually put it off. I get so frustrated by the glitches. If this were fixed, I could go next level with designing my tumblers and enjoy crafting again. Thanks for bringing this to light. I sincerely hope that cricut listens and acts to remedy the software. 😊
I did not realize such a large issue. I was frustrated two weeks ago , I told them not to renew my current membership for Design Space when it ends. It is not relaxing or enjoyable to use it as it is now. I have had a Cricut Machine, since it was originally launched over a decade ago. What a shame to let Cricut go down the tubes
Thank you for speaking up . I literally thought I was going crazy. I make money out of cricut but my frustration has definitely been growing on a daily basis. So I hope Cricut is listening and will step up and figure it out soon.
Thanks for sharing and bringing this to light!! It’s been very frustrating to work on projects with a cantankerous program. I’ve often wondered if I bought the wrong machine. I hope they take these complaints seriously and improve quickly!
You covered it all Tanner. It’s very frustrating when you’re designing and Design Space crashes. It certainly adds to the expected time to finish your creation.
So happy it’s not just me! So many issues lately! 1. When multiple windows are open and I ask it to print one, sometimes it prints another window! 2. Sometimes I can’t scroll down to all the different colors/mats when I’m on the print page and want to edit them. 3. Why can’t we select mirror image once for the entire project? 4. So much freezing!!!! 5. Why is the 100% size not actually true to size?? 6. Can we get a way to make a SVG file? So many more.
I have been a Cricut hobby crafter since 2017. I have seen the evolution of Cricut over the years and the industry that has been built around it. It is very impressive. However, with the rapid growth also comes “growing pains”. Many lessons learned along the way. Cricut has over 8.6 million users and growing. So it’s time for Cricut to reach out to their biggest supporters and get their input. After all, they wouldn’t be here without us. A successful business will know the value of a happy customer. I’m still a huge fan but totally agree with what you have experienced. What I think they can improve on is better software QA, and possibly have real life testers before they launch an update. Most important is to listen to their loyal customers… we love ‘‘em but it is frustrating.
They need to make the functionality similar for users on mobile or iPad. It’s so frustrating to watch tutorials, go to make the project and not find what you need on an iPad. Thanks Tanner! New to the channel but have binged a lot of your content already!!❤
You have no idea how much your videos have helped me. I would not know how to do so many things on my Cricut if I had not seen your site. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I’m a huge Cricut fan. 20 years strong. I have all machines except Venture. I create everyday. I have no problems EVER. EVER. It logs on and fires up every single time. Perfect cutting. Every time.
I have not used my Cricut in a very long time and I realized a long time ago that Cricut did not care about its customers. Sad to say I will never purchase another Cricut product. They burned that bridge years ago when they turned their backs on their customers with the public relations debacle that happened. I’ve always had so many problems with their product. It’s just unacceptable. They don’t take accountability for issues and they don’t correct them. It’s as simple as that. They’ve lost me as a customer a long time ago. I will buy any other competing brand but I will never buy another Cricut. Thank you for speaking up on this. It’s very much appreciated. It’s refreshing and frank and needed to be said. So thank you!
I just purchased a Cricut Joy a month ago. I’m thankful to see this video. I’ve been retired about a year now where I worked as a software tester. During this past month I have found many bugs that exist with the Design Space software and yes, they are really frustrating! I’m sure we are all hoping they have a plan for improving.
Thank you!!! so much Tanner for this video. I thought that I was doing something wrong. I was using my Cricut the other day and got so frustrated with the screen freezing the system logging me off . You name I had the problem then I updated my machine and then experienced more problems. I tried calling customer service and, of course, was on hold forever and ended up hanging up. I pay for Cricut access subscription, and I am with others. If it doesn't get better, I will end my subscription. They can't continue to take our money and not correct these problems. Thank you! Once again.😊
Makes me glad I have a Silhouette. I have friends who have Circuit Machines with the same frustrating experiences you described. Silhouette was a little challenging at first but there are many videos to help along the way.
Tanner, thank you for speaking up, I am a intermediate Cricut student. In the beginning for me, I started using 2021 Cricut platform price was an investment for the machine and monthly fees . Now the a yearly subscription is being requested upfront which brings me to my point "If 6 million people currently are using Cricut they should have quit a budget to fixing glitches in the software." They are asking the consumer to purchase the machine, supplies, tools and upfront yearly subscription but the consumer is only getting marginal service. When your product is the best, and the only game in town, it is pretty easy to loose your focus.
About 12 or so years ago Cricut demanded that 3rd party sites like, Make the Cut, not offer designs that the Cricut could cut. This would discourage people from buying their cartridges. I didn't know that other brands of cutters existed until this news came out. I then bought a Silhouette Cameo. Because Cricut was determined to sell cartridges, they were late to the game as far as design software as well. I'm sure they only survived because they were sold at Michael's. I haven't looked back. I absolutely love my Silhouette Cameo and the software. I love your channel, and always learn so much.

Thank you Tanner for addressing this, but the bigger question is: Cricut are you listening?????
Cricut doesn't listen to anyone but Cricut
Why would cricut listen? They getting money from us
They watched this video and commented!
They care lol, they only care about record breaking profits. They do not support their customers or machines...0 amount of care
I stopped paying subscription because of the cost considering the service you get
I end up in tears too often when trying to create and wasting materials when things fail.
@@paezworld412 I’ve been having the same issue for quite some time now.
You’ve just helped me make a decision. Thank you. 😊
It’s sad to be shocked when something actually works rather shocked when a problem happens.
This! 💯!
Same! This is exactly where I am and I have had 5 machines since Cricut came out.
Starcraft Solo is such a better machine with a better design program which doesn't require monthly fees.
@@rbcreations2I’ve seriously been considering selling my Cricut and going with one of those other machines.
I have been wishing for a cricut machine but I don’t live where I can get one
I was going crazy thinking I was doing something wrong!! Ugh!!

18:28 I got my Cricut in November of 2021 so all I know is glitches and just figure out how to move past the issues with the help of people like you. Thank you guys for being great teachers.
I just started using my Cricut and I thought all the issues I was having were a learning curve. So relieved to know that it’s not just me!
I learned to use my cricut watching you and your team and so agree with you. .
Same here. I canceled my subscription too, I have started to look at other machines. I have 3 machines and it is such a bummer
Yep, cancelled mine too. It wasn’t worth the headaches. Now it’s just sitting on the shelf.
I can't find their comment. Tanner, can you pin cricut's comment?
I wish I have a cricut someday
I must be alone, I rarely ever have issues.
I thought it was me! Had the exact same problem! The machine just quit cutting, and I was left with a mess and trashed material.
I have been so frustrated with constant updates every time I open design space n lately have had problems with making stickers with new functionality! Thanks Tanner for standing up.
Yes!! Every time I open it I have to relearn how to do something or it has been moved and I have to go hunting for it.
I agree with you. I haven’t used my Cricut for almost a year, because it just became too frustrating. I craft for pleasure, and if it causes me total frustration it isn’t worth my time.
Very well articulated, Tanner! I hope Cricut sees this! I myself love Cricut, but it has been very frustrating lately!
Thank you Tanner and MGL for advocating for all crafters. When I’m struggling with designs I thought it was my ignorance, became frustrated and walked away. Thank you again.
You are always welcome!
I've been having the same issues the last few months. It's weird because sometimes if I completely shut down CDS and open it up again, they're there.
@@eleeper26 yes, I’ve had the same thing happen too but it doesn’t always work…..unfortunately
You can change it in settings to keep it at 12x12 as default.
I’m so happy you spoke up. The amount of affiliate programmes is part of the problem with people not speaking up.
I thought I was the only one frustrated with print and cut! Thank you for sharing!
Yes! I have been using Cricut Design space for four years. This past six months has been a struggle, so frustrating!!
The back button!!! As someone who is learning it's a feature I NEED!!
I have also been having the 12x24 mat glitch. When I know for a fact that it fits on a 12×12
Back button!! Come on Cricut!!!
I was on the phone with them just yesterday and it ridiculous @@betseyforbes8254
The 12x24 glitch.... I had no idea this was a glitch and thought it was me! I thought I was doing something wrong! 😮
I kid you not, Friday evening, I wanted to get some stickers made with images
I’ve had downloaded and loaded into design space for several weeks now.
I'm ordering a Silhouette. Their Cameo 5 is supposed to be the bomb!
Just received my Siser Juliet.
I'm so glad you spoke on this because every single time somebody voices frustration over software issues in a Cricut group most of the responses will be about computer specs and/or user error😢
Totally agree with you Tanner...glad to see that someone is actually standing up for us and hope that cricut sees and listens to what you have said..waiting fir the lag ti end so I can actually do something and the glitching in between is very frustrating...thank you for your input on this
AMEN!
Agree completely with everthing you brought up. I was a system engineer testing software. You expect glitches in beta, but final releases should be flawless & if not be addressed immediately. Unfortunately companies have become lazy or just don't care. Like you said make them accountable & do better!
Can you fix it? Or create a user friendly version?
Also just ran into this problem. Luckily I could connect via USB. They must have done something to the bluetooth software. Grrr..
I have had the same problem with my machine not recognizing my computer all of a sudden - never an issue before.
Wow! Just getting ready to purchase a new machine. I may retink Cricut. Thanks for your honest video
I’m right there with you!
This was a fantastic video. Glad you came forth to address this big issue. Loved this!!
Thanks for speaking up!! This is like unionizing the makers, :)!! Hope Cricut take notice and prioritize…
It’s takes too much time to master simple tasks on Cricut. Because of this, I refuse to buy anymore Cricut products.
Same I haven’t bought a single cricut product since 2020 when the Joy came out cause I can’t even use the software half the time
I literally almost went out and bought a whole new computer this morning thinking my computer was done for when design space wouldn’t load for me (it took over an hour just for it to load) .. come to find out it really was just design space. But that’s how big of a problem I think this is ..
haha, that is exactly what I was going to do until I watched this.
Circut doesn't care anymore. It really disappointing.
you are so right on Tanner.
Thank you so much!! I have wasted so much materials and been in tears because of my Cricut maker!
You are so welcome!
I totally agree with you Tanner! Maybe you can whisper in their ear to allow us to print bigger than 6.75" x 9.25". That would be AWESOME!
I hope Cricut listens up and does something to make it better.
I thought it was old machine that was causing it to stop mid cut and give an error. Thankfully I was only cutting paper.
You are welcome!
I'm so very happy to learn i am not alone!!!!!! I was very close to selling everything! I actually started thinking I was just too old to learn about a new computer, and software issues ..... big thank you Tanner !
Thank you for taking the time to evócate for all of us Cricut owners. Cricut does need to shape up and get to the level that I know it can.
You're so welcome!
You're so welcome!
Glad the CEO and the Cricut teams watched this and commented, noting the points you've made - You got his attention!
