  • This video shows a simulation of a car wheel with a rim 18x8J-ET0-6x112.
    The tire is built with the main inside components and reinforcements (steel belt, tread, piles, bead, sidewall). The simulation considers a veretical load 5000N applied to the wheel (1 step), the inflation of the tire with a pressure of 2.2bar (2 step) and and a rotation of the wheel with an impact on a solid body (3 step).
    It is very interesting to see how FEA is simulating correctly all phases. The deformation of the tire under the weight (step 1) is in line with the real deformation measured on a real wheel.

      I think they use CAD software like SOLIDWORKS etc
