The clause in the 13th Amendment that permits (slavery) came about just after the Civil War so the (mostly )southern states could still have a form of underground slavery. Pig laws were created (5 years for stealing a pig) whistle at a white women etc. These still hold true today in min. mand. sentencing, 3x you're out etc. Some states you receive no pay at all for labor. My 2 state bids in Fl 0$ pay. Here in PA 19 cents per hr to start and my 19in t.v. monitor cost me about 200.00$. The food is labeled on the boxes For Inmate and animal use only, not for human consumption 😮 all true.
