    About the odd camera placement: It's a 2 in 1 laptop, therefore it unfolds and recloses with the screen and keyboard on the outside to make a tablet PC... the camera at the top of the keyboard is now at the back, acting as the back camera on a tablet.

      @@saamirhussain2515 1) Dude, this is year and a half ago, I don't care... 2) The title says that it is a 2-in-1 laptop... I have a 2-in-1 laptop... It is a laptop AND a tablet - when folded the other way. My explanation is the only reasonable cause for the camera. Sorry, but simple denial of the facts is not convincing... Do you have a better explanation?

    It’s for back capturing. The screen have double hinges, and also you have rubber feet’s around the keyboard so you should be able to rotate the screen for 360

      That's right.
      Lenovo calls these "Yoga" laptops while HP has the "x360" series. They all have a screen that you can rotate 360°.
      Because of the different viewing angles, a lot of these laptop come with an IPS screen which is nice.

    I just re-balled the ddr3 memory chips of a Zenbook Ux461U that would shut itself off. If I had no access to a thermal camera on this job, I would have wasted too much time troubleshooting and be left scratching my head. This was a rare fault on any laptop in my experience. Good video.

  • @timecentral3134
    @timecentral3134 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Excellent video!!! These smaller smart jacks (4.5mm as opposed to the traditional 7.4mm) have been used in inspirons for several years now. It's been my experience they have a much higher failure rate than the 7.4mm jacks. Often they don't appear broken or dirty, but the contacts inside the jack have lost their shape and need to be sprung back into place (as you demonstrated). My luck has been mixed - some of the contacts relax and go back to not making contact in a few days to a few weeks. My suspicion is that, as the contacts started to have a poorer connection, the springy contacts would get hot and loose some of their springiness. Your client is very lucky you could fix this... that jack in your videos is Dell Part Number 0Y0YV which is harder to find than other jacks. (note: that computer should turn on with 19v and ground without the battery present... it's turning off after turning on because the battery is just barely above 0%). I haven't seen anyone on youtube but you go into this level of detail. Keep up the AWESOME WORK!!!

    15:37 yeah, fine, but how long?
    How long does it need, to bring back the same issue again, hmm?
    That charger port, should be replaced - the plastic inside, which protect against short, is probably cracked or melted.

    • @marcellipovsky8222
      @marcellipovsky8222 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I am also sure that this will return after a short while. The material inside looks corroded and has signs of metal fatigue. Port replacement is inevitable.

    The keyboard camera is used when the screen is folded over and you use an external monitor.

  • @djtongi

    Sorin, this is a two in one device! Laptop and tablet! It has double hinges.
    You can flip the display over nearly 360 degree, the camera on the Keyboard then works as a back-camera, like on the phone.

    You have 3 types of laptop owners,1 are regular who own most 2 are those who think there are spies everywhere who take pictures of you while you use your computer and log into it when you think it’s off to watch you without you knowing and 3-the ones who caught someone or knows how to check if anyone is hacking into their systems and monitoring them, these are the types who would want a laptop like that, all they’ll get is a video or pic of the cieling instead of your family enjoying a day at home or you at the office. No worries, you’re not crazy, the voices in my head said they’re not coming to take me away 🤪

      2in1 mean it can be use as a tablet mode - it sould be a double hinge, if not some company ask for the modification to have a regular hinge system (less way to break the screen ^^)

    Re: camera placement “We’ve been chasing that ever since, shrinking the camera smaller, talking about our options - every generation we want to get it back top, the technology for cameras hasn’t got small enough to where the border is for our liking.”
    The obvious follow-up question is when that development might happen, and initially Lyle’s response isn’t encouraging. “When the camera gets down to 2mm, 1.5mm, we’ll absolutely throw it back up top.”

    Im only 2 minutes into the video, so im not sure if he figured it out yet, but 2 in 1 means that its a laptop and its a tablet. The giveaway is those crazy hinges that allow the screen to fold back onto itself. That makes the keyboard the back of the computer, and that camera is the tablets camera, not the laptops camera. It should have touch screen, and it may have a stylus that pops out if you press it.
