Well, I was 7 year old in 1990 and grew in the 90's. I must admit, after year 2000, I also started getting close to all the artist from 1950's till the end of 2005. Even the ones I never listened, liked or admired. As, after 2005, the music era fell down and has sunked. I need to provide heartfelt gratitude to all artists whose talent was missed in those times. Today it is not music, but noise that is produced for a price probably we are all paying.
Thanks to all and the owner of this yt channel

@@Harp00nX I like old school rap and by that I mean up until say 2005. Because because of the Beastie Boys, the Run DMC song with Aerosmith, and the era with MC Hammer I became interested in rap for a period of time. My interest kind of ended but at times I do like rap. None of the hardcore crap with bad language and awful lyrics.

I was born in 1995, so it's very special year for me to look at. Three most iconic songs of 1995 are 100% "Gangsta's Paradise", "Wonderwall" and "Waterfalls".
And you missed Mylene Farmer and her super-iconic song "California"
And it's interesting how rock songs doesn't age at all - Green Day, The Offsping sound as fresh as 27 years ago, while pop/RnB/etc are so outdated!

I don't know about that. I mean, I think you're 90% correct. I was a kid through the 80's, turning 20 in '95. The 90's are my favorite era of music, for sure, but I also really like 2012-'15. I can't really say why, nothing of note was going on in my life at that time.

In 1995, those reminiscing about '74-'75 might've been high school graduates around that time. Meaning they were born around 1955-ish. Meaning they're close to retirement now.... I'm relatively young in comparison (born 1982), but it feels like yesterday (or at least last week) when all these songs were constantly played on the radio. Yes, radio....that was the closest thing you got to streaming services back then. :D

Don't know why every site I search for only posts top 100 lists when there are only 300-400 that chart on Billboard per year. This has made recreating playlists from my youth a real challenge, especially when you factor in crossover hits. My local radio station played deep dance cuts, Latin, and alternative songs that I would have gone the rest of my life never hearing again unless I dug deeper. Nowadays I don't think I listen to more than 100 new songs per year, but I could recognize just about every one of these instantly.

I love the fact that the UK and the North America had two quite unique sounds going on at the time.
The UK had its very distinct Britpop rock period and I can think of numerous songs missed on this playlist. With a vibrant dance music scene to which took over after the Britpop time came to an end.
While in North America alternative rock was really producing great sounds and bands. And of course the R&B and Rap scene was really starting to take off.

I was shocked at first on the song "Heaven for Everyone" by Queen cuz Freddie died in 1991 but that song released in 1995 in Freddie's voice 😱😅

It was a post release album: Made in heaven. So those tracks were recorded before Freddie’s passing away.

Nice mix, but I see one from around 93. In your 94 mix I see two from 91. Just saying. We're they re-released?

Suitable to listen to all of these in 2023, because 1995 and 2023 calendars are same.
