The folks at Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) seem to be working 24/7 and powered by caffeine. From the first-ever Zenix to the next-generation Wigo, you know that the country’s biggest automaker isn’t resting on its laurels even if it already owns a massive chunk of the auto industry. It’s also the sales leader in hybrid electric vehicles in the Philippines. Together with Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus, the two brands pretty much own the market. Helping Toyota corner that market even further is the launch of the new 2024 Toyota Yaris Cross Hybrid, which is the Japanese automaker’s most affordable hybrid crossover to date.

UPDATE: Only the 1.5 S Hybrid gets the panoramic sunroof and not in the 1.5 V.
Nissan should be worried given the very similar pricepoint. And given the fact that most Pinoys gravitate towards Toyota regardless of other offerings in the marker.

i wonder if the non-hybrid v variant will have better resale value than the hybrid considering replacing the batteries after 8 or so years will be very expensive.

@@marlouabalona5079 i dunno if it is a fair comparison. but the 3rd gen prius that were sold here have significantly lost a lot of its value, compared to any toyota of the same year.
My in-laws have a 14 year old Prius still on its original battery.
Hi! really want to test drive this car as this looks like the perfect daily in the metro... but coming from a Honda HRV, how does the power feel like? not underpowered naman? really eager to find out. Choosing the Yaris Cross or the Corolla Cross is a tough one haha thank you!
Imagine an engine weaker than honda city’s engine and putting it inside a much heavier crossover, at least 300-400kg heavier. Toyota cars are slow compared to their competitors, but then again, you dont buy toyotas for their speed.

Hmmmm… hard to tell actually unless the cars are side by side, but probably only a few mm separate the Corolla Cross and Yaris Cross, with the slight height advantage towards the Corolla Cross.

If this was a 7 seater like the Veloz, this would be a winner.
As with the manufacturers, we don’t advise on purposefully driving a car over floods. Pero kung kailangan at walang choice, Toyota Motor Philippines said before that the battery is protected and if the system detects water intrusion, the electric motor will deactivate.
Gutter deep should (probably) be okay since we already experienced this with another hybrid car (not Toyota).

Yup, especially in terms of space sa loob mas malaki advantage ng Yaris Cross. It’s about 90% the size na ng Corolla Cross.

I do prefer the Coolray’s ride. The Yaris Cross had an unexpected firmness though at least on how we perceived it, it’s probably due to high pre-delivery air pressure from the tires since these cars are so new when we got it and probably fresh from the car carriers.

magaling ka po mag review po. ang problema lang po.. may malabo sa speaking voice nyo. mabilis po kayo magsalita. may mga times na hindi clear yung mga sinasabi nyo po.

Also very curious pano maintenance cost nito vs the gas engine alone? on top of my head casa charge around 4-5k for fully synth change oil, how about ung sa electric components nya meron ba sya parang same kind of pms? Kasi im trying to check ano ung mas practical in the long run. HEV will definitely win in terms of Fuel Eff, but for sure ang mahal ng maintenance ng electric components nto since need nila iapply ang supply and demand whereas for sure kaunti lng ang marunung mag maintain nto today.
