This would have been a part of a history school trip in high school back then, I don’t know if that is still a thing. You do realise the Zyklon B disinfection block exposure times were 24 hours as per the camp protocols, as opposed to 30mins-1hour in the gas chambers? Small matter of all of the birkenau chambers being blown up and the remaining masonry exposed to rainfall for decades - dilutes HCN residues. The disinfection block managed to avoid being blown up - any ideas why the Nazis might not have bothered blowing this building up, but went to the trouble of blowing/demolishing six gas chambers?
