Looking @ getting my first bandsaw was going to go for the 350 but then saw the Sabre and now its the one! Only really a hobby not a business but you just got to spend sometimes to get what you really want! TFS 'thanks for sharing'. GB :)
The bearings on a band saw are the main thing, they are the difference between good cuts and bad cuts. As long as the boss (I mean the wife) does not see this video and make you take it back you have a great saw.
Really good video, a bandsaw is on my wish list but since my shed is only 10x8 I am limited to what I can have, plus I am beginning to use hand tools a lot more and my sawing is getting more accurate plus hardly any noise and oh yes the dust falls on to the floor and not in the air
So pleased I came across your video 😀. I was considering buying another makers model for roughly the same price and this machine seems to have a substantial higher spec. Just wondering if you are still enjoying your purchase?
As the owner of a BS350s I find it to be a capable saw that is very well built. But it has a few things that I think the Sabre range have fixed, for a start the fence is shite because you can't remove it unless you remove the blade first. You can buy an aftermarket fence from Axminster that is far better. It's a good fence in use, but not when you don't want to use it if you follow me. Also the wheel kit is abysmal and the wheels buckle easily due to two being fixed and 2 on castors. Also the drive belt is prone to breaking if the wheels aren't aligned perfectly.
Hi Tim, watching this now for the first time and I'm only at 3:50 and I already know you've already made up your mind to swap the one you have for the bigger/better version :-)))))) (let's continue watching and find out, shall we?!) :-)))))
Great choice to go bigger and more robust. I’m still getting by with my Charnwood 715 but often I struggle to do the cuts I want. I assume the two models had different power motors? Just catching up on videos... Andy UK
Hi Tim. Are you still happy about the Record Power Sabre 350? I was looking to buy a Jet, but now I might go for the Sabre 450. Really like your channel. Good luck with the roof.
Thank you very much! I am setting up new workshop (well, its been 3yr setup for now and still I do not have even finished walls :D ) and Iam looking for new bandsaw. Just next weekend Iam passing by seller of record power so I want to check it out . And whoaw! they have nice discount just these days :) I was thinking if I need Sabre or just regular one. Height cut seems to be enough at regular one and it even looks that they add quick release tension to regular (that is "must have" for my new saw) but.... it looks that you made my decision and Sabre wouldnt be just good but even great saw... I want that! :) Many thanks for this video. Tomas
Tim it looks like a wonderful piece of kit but what can it do for you in addition to your Festool tracksaw, a tablesaw and jigsaw??? Like Peter Millard gets by with an £80 Aldi bandsaw. I'm not really clear what a bandsaw does that other tools don't. I did however read it is very good if you are building a boat, which would admittedly be a cool thing to do.
Good question. Mainly the ability to rip larger timber, i.e resaw boards, logs, bowl blanks etc, possible on a table saw up to a point but can be risky. Plus in the immediate future cut all my curved oak braces which is not going to happen with a jigsaw or my little table top saw.
Great demo! Question: it looks like this comes with a normal 13 amp 3 pin UK plug, is that right? I rent my workshop and so I can't get any rewiring done for 16 amp plugs, so if this takes a standard plug it sounds ideal!
Muy bonito todo, pero a parte de chorradas y detalles sin contenido no habéis contado no qué medida tiene el volante ,tipos de ajustes tipo de motor altura de corte potencia de corte, donde se comercializa, ejemplos de cortes etc etc
Am i the only one who thinks Dan looks similar to tyson fury 🤔 just sometimes 🤔 think back to when tyson fury had a beard picture him talking to the camera with wide eyes 👀. @10:28 ish.
I hope your Sabre350 worked when you got it. Just bought a sabre450 for my workshop. What a disappointment. Didn’t work on delivery. An electrician found it had been wired incorrectly inside. Very poor quality control for what is suppose to be the top of their range machine. Wouldn’t buy record power ever again.
Hi and sorry to bother you and if you can remember the bandsaw behind the one you were looking at with the red blade guard would you recommend what one it is many thanks steve 👨🏼🦽👨🏼🦽
The amount of times I've bought a tool and instantly regretted not buying the next model up! Great video
Exactly how I felt and for once I went back and did something about it. :-)
Wow! Surprisingly ENJOYABLE!

BOTH in Technical-Details, AND as a GREAT but Non-Pushy Salesman! ;-)

At 0:36 is it an optical illusion/camera angle or a fault with the fence as it seems to be NOT parallel to the mitre slot.

Great shops stick out in there service and understand of customers .Good pick as you also want to work on Oak wood for the workshop and other project.
Yeah, the first job is to cut my curved oak braces which was never going to happen with a jigsaw! 😂

That bandsaw looks like you will be set at least for a decade now, great purchase. Now to let the missus get her toy :)
My dad always said. Stingy man pays most. Glad you got the one you wanted

😂 to be fair I’m not sure I would have travelled the 2 hour round trip if I wasn’t already 99% committed to upgrading. 😀
I knew it, I knew it, I knew it 🤣
Great choice of bandsaw, best I have used
Great video I am looking to get my first bandsaw but have limited space.
What a great shop. Shame it's so far south, I could spend hours wandering round there.
Me too. My nearest Record Power stockist is a shop that is very unhelpful. Wouldn't give them my custom.
Good choice, I’ve got the same one, well it’s still at Yandles with my name on it, just waiting to pick it up on Friday...
Great video I’m looking at upgrading my bandsaw and was looking at the BS400 or the Sabre 350, I think the sabre 350 is the way to go.Thanks
Good choice!
All very good but how, exactly, did you get it on its stand 👍
Dude you did the right thing!

Yeah, great saw. Not used anything else this size to compare to but no complaints.
Did you get the sabre 450 ?

Looking forward to what you’ll be creating going forward 👍🏻

If you're not a woodworker, not after a bandsaw or not a tool nerd, you're probably a bad person.
Extreme? Yes. True? Yes.
Can you recommend a small band saw for a small workshop
Andrew
Great demo!

Yes standard 13a theee pin.
Hi buddy I'm looking for a band saw what would you recommend for a small workshop thanks
Here's me wishing I'd got room for the teeny bandsaw you have while you're trying to 'sell yourself' the upgrade. 😂

Still is. Serves many purposes. 👍
Great video btw 👍🏻.
Just a passing thought 💭 where are jo's investment videos 🤔😂
Her overlocker and sewing machine videos need to be up. 😂👍🏽
Don’t worry, she has an embroidery machine nearing the top of her wish list! 😉
I do like the way in which guys try to convince their wives that they need a particular power tool by calling it “an investment” 😉
Works both ways for us. 😂 we have invested in sewing machines too. 🙄
I am from morroco and il want bye oui on thos machine to cut woodwith a 3 MM blanc

It’s a toy shop!
Also the sales chap has a majestic beard

Needed a bit of a trim at that point...and the camera adds ten pounds...to the beard
