    I came looking to clear up my confusion on what exactly "outside local" would be used for. Thanks for explaining that it is a rare use case. Very clear and straightforward video!

    Thanks for the explanation! I think I finally understand! You have to look at it from the perspective of the device you are at and device you are going to....
    INSIDE= device is on a network within the organization not crossing the internet;
    OUTSIDE=device is on a network outside of its own organization that can only be accessed over the internet;
    LOCAL=uses a private ip address that can't access the internet;
    GLOBAL= uses a public address that can access the internet; therefore....
    -an "INSIDE LOCAL" is a location on the organizations internal network that uses a private ip that can't cross the internet;
    -an "OUTSIDE LOCAL" is a location of a specific destination device that is located on a different organizations' local network across the internet. (the ip address we use must be able to cross the internet so it might be the same as "outside global" address... NAT will control the routing table and will replace our assigned destination ip address with another ip address that forwards the packet to it's own local private ip address);
    -an "INSIDE GLOBAL" is a location within our organization's network that uses a public address that can access the internet (so this the very last interface on an organizations router that accesses the internet);
    -an "OUTSIDE GLOBAL" is a location on a different organizations network across the internet that has a public ip address that can access the internet.
