I agree with what he said. This isn’t rocket science and you should not be using an advisor with egregious fees charging AUM, if you really need advice use a fee only adviser once or twice a year if that.

Was ADM's 96 lawsuit the one about Lysine? I was using it about that time for my hogs and the price was jumping up and down like crazy over 50% moves. It was made out of corn and they supposedly "colluded" with the other company making it to stabilize the price. After that the price hardly ever changed until the ' justice' dept got involved with collusion. Then the price shot way up and stayed there forever. Evidently they figured the ( I believe) $ 50 million fine was a business expense and recouped it from chicken and hog farmers and consumers. The only winners, scumbag gov't lawyers. Someone just said we have over 400 alphabet soup gov't agencies, and they all have to be paid plus office equipment. Headline this morning, Elon laid off 90% of twitters employees and it still works.

Broad market index is a great idea long term. Its not the best strategy but there are ways to avoid a market downturn using the right individual stocks to offset a downturn of the S and P so you don't suffer the entire market loss.

And now with all these youtube financial guru's you can be apart of a community. Which in itself makes you more emotional which is a cardinal sin when it comes to investing. I get it we all want that next Tesla stock. We are all swinging for the fence putting large sums of money into penny stocks..etc. I've learned the hard way. Just invest in an index. A lot of target date funds have much higher fees than VOO. You’d probably just be better off over a long period of time just buying VOO.
If you buy now you're buying it at the highest level it has ever been. Surely not a wise move at a time when wars are pending and inflation is high globally. It would be foolish to put all your eggs in at a time like now.
