Being baptized is great - Jesus shows us that example. Jesus was baptized in a river but I don’t care if you’re in a tub, a pool, a creek, a hole in the ground, the ocean, a bay, a swamp, a trough, a creek, ect, it doesn’t matter. The transformative power is in the Holy Spirit! Good on ya for taking it to the river but our brother in Christ who made this comment didn’t mention where they were baptized nor does it matter. Let’s join in prayer that we ALL resist sin. My brother - resist the devil and he must flee. Don your armor as in Ephesians 6 and share your testimony far and wide, winning souls to Christ Jesus.
Your sins were already forgiven on the cross. Open the gift of Salvation. You can’t lose that salvation. Accept Christ as your Savior and the Only Begotten Son of God and The Father will only see His Son instead of your sin or my sin. We will still sin here on Earth, but your heart will be right and you won’t want to sin. If you do, repent and follow Christ even more so. That sin is already forgiven. All sin is forgiven. 2 Timothy 4:2-3 sparked a whole big thing at the Baptist church I go to. There's a horrible rise in moving away from even conventional Bible studies in favor of studying pseudo-Christian self-help books (which is false teaching). Similarly, I'm seeing more and more Christians using those external books and scholars to chip away at the Bible verse by verse (accumulating teachers and turning away from the truth). I'm so grateful to have a pastor like Mark who has the faith and conviction to teach straight out of the Bible without quoting scholars and authors! 🙏
Just the other day, I noticed how odd this passage should have sounded in the first century. The Internet Age is the first time this really makes sense at a global scale. Who, apart from emperors or kings, could just browse and selectively gather teachers to themselves, physically, according to their personal whims? The printing press wasn't even a thing, so even if Paul was speaking metaphorically of heretical/pagan writings, it's not like they had an extensive gnostic self-help section at the village Barnes & Noble.

When it talks about weeping and seeing the Son of Man coming, that's referring to Israel figuring out Jesus is the messiah and Him returning at the end of the Trib. That is when He is seen coming with His saints, which is us. We are taken up at the beginning of the Trib, which is how we're able to come with Him when He returns. Rapture happens at the beginning, Second Coming happens at the end. We get to enjoy the 7-year Wedding Supper of the Lamb, while those left behind endure the 7-year Trib. The parable of the Fig Tree speaks of Israel being reborn in 1948. The parable about the generation not passing away, tells us that the Rapture/Trib happens near the 80yr point (a generation is 80yrs). In other words, we can have exceptionally strong hope that we will be raptured on or before 2028 (but I don't know the day or hour).

In fact, it really originates in the garden of Eden, when Eve decided she wanted to hear what the serpent had to say. I read those verses yesterday. I try not to get lost pinning down the details of who what when where. Just trying to stay focused on Jesus and let him tell me what I need to know. In this case it was those verses. Mark talked about how we need to just hurry through the dark part and get to the part where Jesus returns in his glory.
The office of pope fits the definition of AntiChrist if you understand the papacy or at the very least that the Pope claims to have the authority of Jesus Christ himself.
I would be cautious with the idea that any Pope is actually the Anti-Christ. Islam has the Mahdi, (Anti-Christ) who is supposed to have at his right hand the returned Jesus (False Prophet), and they have word for word the spirit of the Anti-Christ. (Deny Jesus is God, Deny he died on the Cross, claim the Jews and Christians are now the enemy of God), and for a bonus, they chop of Christian heads with alarming regularity and their version of Jesus is supposed to fight and overcome a false Jesus (Dajial "Deceitful Messiah") in the end days.

I heard a teaching on the line item in the list of sins that references disobedient to parents. And the person I was listening to broke it down from the Hebrew saying more accurately that it means disregard for the authority of parents. A little broader reference. And the person I was listening to broke it down from the Hebrew saying more accurately that it means disregard for the authority of parents. A little broader reference.
