@@bradstephan7886 The weird, impossible to match answers are not funny or imaginative. These contestants are working class people trying to win some money and all some panelists wanted to do is screw around.
And sometimes when they are making a joke with their answer, it can still either be the correct answer or a good answer. But mostly I agree with you... 😊
I was very happy for both Jack Klugman and Contestant Sue, but also wanted to comment on the LONGEST closing credits, ever! It's kinda fun/weird to be clapping for a contestant who is possibly long gone.
gene is almost there, the long recital of the rules is being whittled down, won't be long and he'll simply ask, "you know the rules?" and for all you who think richard could do no wrong, he was consistently missing the $500 match with the first choice, sue wisely went with jack and won a bundle of money.
Both ladies have crazy hair in this one! I've noticed a lot of big hair in the recent episodes... I thought the 70s were entirely sleek and straight! Certainly was in the first several episodes!
ROFL! Another fine after dinner episode! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Gene! ;0) ROFL! Love ya Jack! ;0) ROFL! Love ya audience.. ;0) massage parlor! ;0) boys school! ;0)
Any answers I could think of for the question about where to meet a lot of guys would fit better under a dumb Dora question, LOL (you know, monastery, stuff like that ;) ).
I'm enjoying these but...... the titles give it away! I'm having to try to not see the titles so I can enjoy the episode. Maybe don't say when there's a "big match"???
Well, for me I can actually 'see' it...and at the time of this show, 1973 they had already been married for 20 years - married in 1953 and had two sons, Adam & David...sadly they would divorce in 1977...I've always loved the two of them, and its nice to see them together here. 😊 (at least for me)
Holly Molly, that woman Sue is a fantasy come to life. We can't have some Sue's in this new millennium? Graceful, tall island girl vibes. I like Sue, but either the game was fixed or Barbara is just way too out there man.
His boyfriend? They were either drinking or asleep! Think about it... They were still using derogatory terms to describe gay people, so they couldn't have been all that accepting.
this was 1973, homosexuality had not become the vision of purity and acceptance it has become today, most people saw it as two guys doing really gross stuff to each other.
Sue and Jack were a Match made in heaven! That was terrific!
omg they have huge hair
and that's before the 80's
The time-limit buzzer on a celebrity during the Super Match is far too quick (as with Pflug the second SM); glad they lightened up on that, later on.
lol, any last words... off mic, i gotta go to the bathroom lol... ahh yes :)
That was funny! Culp was a character!
Jack was wonderful !
I knew the minute she said "Toupee" that she was going to have "to pay" for that response.
Richard does a fantastic Bobby Boris Pickett voice imitation of Sue’s question; obviously he knew the “Monster Mash!”
I always liked best the shows on which the stars actually tried to match the players instead of focusing on being funny.
Exactly! They can always verbally crack their joke, but trying to help contestants win some money is the way to play the game.
@@bradstephan7886 The weird, impossible to match answers are not funny or imaginative. These contestants are working class people trying to win some money and all some panelists wanted to do is screw around.
To be fair, sometimes the contestants were pretty wacko with their answers too.
And sometimes when they are making a joke with their answer, it can still either be the correct answer or a good answer. But mostly I agree with you... 😊
Technically the contestants could give the funny answers and the celebs would be able to do both.
So happy Sue won all that money with Jack's help.🥰
Sue is a knockout
Yes! A very pretty face and a lovely personality - what's not to like?
@@bradstephan7886 agreed! Nice girl!
Wow.....the Hair lol

Love the fashions,,......?did we wear those styles?????
Yes! we did. Some of them are pretty terrific.
How old is Brett is 1973 and I love her ripping up jack’s answer and I love her long hair
Brett was 49 in 1973.
It was a wig
i wonder if there were any plans for a sitcom featuring brett and jack
It was called The Odd Couple
The Match Game "90" club includes Betty, Bob Barker, Pat Carroll, Conrad Janis, Ed Asner &
Scoey. Is there anyone else ?
Jack was a very smart player
Sue is really sweet and I love her outfit....
Her 1973 winnings of $6,800 are worth $47,000 in 2023 money. Wow!
Great matches by Jack.
RIP legend.

I LOVE SUE!!! She’s so cute. 💜💜💜
I think she liked Jack, like a little crush. 🥰 I used to like him myself on the odd couple and Quincy. 😉

wow , Jack is a better player than his ex
glad he matched the 2 big matches but he could come up with some pretty bad answers.
way to go , Jack
Brett Somers ripped Jack Klugman's answer that's so funny.
HAVE TO BE IMPRESSED BY JACK. HE CAN GIVE THE BIG MONEY MATCH AND INSULT BRETT EQUALLY WELL
Why oh why GSN not re-air these classic why not show all from 73, and 74 all not skip to 77 avoid 75 and 76 now any reason
That ending is so long
Richard!

But just how dumb is she?
Jack Klugman was okay a Oscar, Great as Quincy and all around good entertaining person but miss C.N.R on match game
Not sure, is this the first time he asked the audience.. ;0)
Guess they didn't have flash MOBS back then...
Or, 'drives'!

I just don’t see Brett and Jack as a couple.

The women contestants were so FIT back then even moms.
Not eating as much fast food and less sedentary.
@@MrMustangMan How have genes deteriorated over the years
It’s choices on food
They only picked that type
@@netta96 - There weren't many of any other types to pick. It was normal for women to be in shape back then. It used to be a disgrace to be obese.
dibs on barb
I saw her first. That's a great early 1970s cute mom look.
I think Barbara was stoned
I thought the same thing!
brett criticizing Pat if she matches contestant which is what they are supposed to try to do. - It always has to be about Brett
Michael Nivens should had made Brett a lower row celebrity and not a regular .
I heard she was not taking any payment, only alcohol.
Pat Carroll reminds me of Brian Blessed

On repeated viewings, Brett is a bit loud and slightly annoying.
barbara was the worst...next time don't step out to smoke a joint lol jesus...
Notice how Brett always spells her "Y's" backwards? And don't make fun of a Southern accent...it pisses me off.. being from the South.
ironically , she is from Canada & Maine - she irks a lot of people with that whether they are from the South or not
7:47 OMG GET THE MIC OUT OF YOUR MOUTH! we only wanna hear your voice, not the inside of your mouth

You had better be saying that about the panelists!
