- Welcome to the fifty-fourth episode in the series of Villa Aroldi - An Italian House Restoration.
In this video, we receive some exciting surprise packages from Reolink, helping us ensure we won’t have any more issues with burglars or trespassers. While Anna is away in Stockholm for the week, I get to work mounting the new security cameras on the stable. However, when it comes to the villa, I run into a problem and have to rethink my approach. Join me as I tackle the challenge of securing our property and share the latest updates!

that's it, your sense of humor will see you through this project! Hang on to it!
When I win the security camera, I hope it's this easy😂😂😂😂😂
Haha! I sure will!!
It actually could be that easy Brian! Time will tell.
Oh Henrik, I won't enter to win the camera but I sure would like to sign up for your positivity webinar! 😂 I'm sorry for the frustration but I was in stitches watching this. Thanks for the belly laugh.
Haha, Ill save a seat for you! Webinar coming "soon" 😂
You have such a great sense of humour along with your choice of music, I love watching your channel.
Thank you so much! Im glad you like it!
6:53 LOL😂. Enjoyed your mention of a positivity webinar in 2058. Retrofits in old buildings are very challenging!
It really is!
Will you be attending? 😜
Keeping it real. Well done, you always get there in the end 😊
Thank you! I were struggling a bit getting the cables there, but the cameras themself were a breeze!
Anything worth doing is worth doing again, and again, and again… Looking forward to the seminar!
😂
Planning with deep thinking is your friend, especially as you sit and ponder with a glass of wine!
@@Nomad126 so true!
Love what you're doing. Keep up all the good work and positive vibes!
Thank you! Will do!
Glad you kept your sense of humour, i dont know whether i would have!
Haha, im laughing because of madness 😂
@@VillaAroldi 😂
Even Jimmy was singing the blues about this project! 😂. I am in Italy (Marche region for a family wedding) and we’ve had the worst weather lately. Finally a sunny day yesterday!
You made my day with this video .Sorry for all the frustration but what a great video it made mixed with your sense of humor. What a good time we had watching.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Installation was a bit uphill but we are super happy with having the system installed!
You are hysterical. I really enjoy your videos.
@@susbs thank you! I’m glad you like them
It's nice to see that work move forward:) Best for all from Poland.
Thank you very much!
You did it!
Yes! I were struggling for a bit but it was well worth it, super happy with the system!
3 prong plugs are my enemy!! 😂 Have to use three different plug types also as part of the house is older than the rest!! Great alarm system!!
Haha, you are someone that for sure is living in Italy!
@@VillaAroldi yes and been waiting for months now for the go ahead to renovate!! My frustration with Italian bureaucracy gets more as time goes on. 😢☺️
Wow, that project was a total pain in the neck!!!!!!!! I chuckled when I heard the beeps that must have been hiding your swears.
It really was, basically just the cable management though, the system itself was a breeze to install!
We had a good laugh watching this video, went to similar situations as well. Glad you made it.
Indeed. 😅 Keep up the good work, Henrik! 😎
Haha, then you know!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you!
Progress forward is the best we can do happy to see you restarting continuing . Still remember how you installed that stairways.
Yes, that was just last year we did that!
Dude it’s okay to ugly cry with frustration… we’ve all been there!
Hahaha, Ill do that next time! 😂
😂😂😂😂 priceless 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
@@paulcavanagh3324 Thank you for watching!
You can use a vacuum cleaner to pull a wad of cotton attached to a string through the tubing
That's an idea!
Use it all the time to pull cable through conduit
Those electrical cords are crazy. I'm surprised you haven't had an electrical fire yet. Be careful and good luck. 😉
Haha, I am not doing anything electrical myself, Ill leave that to a certified electrician but otherwise I am sure I would have had one! 😂
@@VillaAroldiYep, those power strips can only handle so much, but I assume you have some pretty good circuit breakers that'll trip before catching fire. 😊
@@fv1291 Yes, there is not much load on them and we have a newly built circuit board ✌🏼
What a huge amount of cleanup you've got in front of you on this place.
Yes it will be a massive project, but we will have large diggers and bulldozers to fix that in the future, focus right now is to get the Villa ready enough for us to move into!
😂 You're so funny! 😊
i know, right. how could i have missed this side of him.
Haha, thank you! Im glad you liked it.
It's a fine line between funny and complete madness 😂
If you do a mesh WiFi network, you can usually plug in a cat6 into the repeaters. Not sure how well it will work through 2 thick brick walls, though.
Yes we do have that option, I am not sure how well it will work through these walls though so I prefer cables as much as it's possible. We will do an extensive mesh network inside the villa later though.
You can also wire a cheap PoE switch in each building and run a single (or fewer) Ethernet to the NVR. They don't need to be plugged into individual ports.
Hi, I assume the cameras are powered over ethernet. Would it not be easier to pass cables without the ends on through the plastic tubing and then crimp on the ethernet connector ? But at least you got it working.
@@frigbychilwether yes exactly, that’s much better, I didn’t have the tools or ends for it though 🤷♂️
👍👍👍
Thank you for watching!
You missed a great opportunity to learn more Italian 😋 you should've only allowed yourself to use colourful Italian words lol. Love the humour.👍❤️
@@neutonrenda2303 haha yes, I am trying not to learn that part of the Italian language though 😂
😂😂😂had a good chuckle
@@VillaAroldiI’ll teach you a few. I’m a Brit that has lived here in Italy for 55 years now. They were my first words too but only with experience do you get full satisfaction when saying them. I am in full appreciation of your English sarcastic humour, ‘ONE WEEK LATER’ you decided on a more Italian approach, a little bit easier but not quiet 😂😂😂
@@margaretlovelock7031 😂
Well, I think that electricians must have the ability to visualize all sorts of templates as needed. Maybe some can do that from the outset, maybe some develop that as they go along! But I certainly don’t have that! Kudos to you for all you are accomplishing! Your neighbor must have had utmost confidence that the wind wouldn’t shift or increase when he was burning. Maybe he was looking out a window? One hopes. I can’t wait for your positivity seminar. Will it be a Ted Talk? I hope you have a really good bakery in the neighborhood that also has magnificent coffee, because creature comforts/simple pleasures can help even things out. Or gyms. Or open markets with beautiful produce. Or wood-fired pizza. Reward yourself! 😅
Haha! Yes, it will be a TED talk 😂
Yes, I have rewarded myself with all of those things lately!
just a question have you thought of just WIFI from the front of the house back to NBR and save cabling you the only have to wire in power
In the future this won't be a problem as we will have everything in the utility room in the basement of the Villa and from there we will reach everything, but wifi would work if we had any electricity in the Villa which we don't unless I pull an extension cord in there.
❤❤❤
Thank you for watching!
How do I sign up for that positivity class? I believe I'm free that week 😂😅
I think you just signed up! 😂
@@VillaAroldi its on the calendar 😁
@@missysatke2046 Haha, great!
Not a criticism but a question, was there a reason you didn't go rechargeable batteries on the cameras instead of wired?
Yes absolutely! I do not want to deal with charging cameras all the time, once it's installed I just want it to work, with power over ethernet I just need to pull one cable for each camera which is great!
@@VillaAroldi Got it, thanks for the clarification.
@@ji8044 You are welcome!

I imagine that you had to edit the video to comply with TH-cam's policy on profanity. ;-). I'm not sure that I would want to share with the world on the internet the details of my security system.
It's fine!
There will be many more cameras though.
But does he realize he has just shown ...everyone his whole setup including where the SWITCH and NBR this is all the information a burglar needs ...he point to stables are.. and the NBR behind enter door In a cabinet...to much information .... i just hope it wont back fire on him?????
It's fine, if anyone plans to do a burglary a camera system will not help as just any typ of mask hinders us from seeing who it is, but what it does stop is the opportunity type of burglar who maybe sees something they like on the property and so on, plus we might have cameras indoor too, or will install even more cameras.
and the other thing is most burglers climb up fully faced.....but what I was pointing out was the fact the cameras are not that important what is where the stored of the imagers are housed they dont care about camera as long as they cant be identified ...but you have shown them where they will be stored down to the electrical room they will be place in.....that is of course you get burgled it was just an obsevation ...be aware your broad casting to through internet you dont no who is watching??? i no you have been sponsered but you over sponsered with what you have done
PLEASE BE CAREFUL...JUST CONCERNED IS ALL
@@stephenbembridge9118 Yes you are right, you never really know who will be watching! It will be secure though, I am not too bothered, there will be plenty of safety measures before they even reach that room.
as long as your Happy
Would a potential thief not just Cut the visable White cable behind the camera?
He probably would, or maybe just wear a mask 😜
If someone is really serious about breaking in and are planning to do so a camera system will not help, it's great to stop the opportunity thief though!
@@VillaAroldi what about sending me one of them camera so i Can check them out svenske nabo 😉😊
@@allanpedersen2379 Who knows! It might happen, share this video with your friends!
@@VillaAroldi i just send the link to some of my friends out of my hands now
@@allanpedersen2379 That's excellent!! Let's hope they find their way here!
Thanks... burglars now know where all the security equipment is and where the cables are run. 🤔
If this video wasn't funny, it would be tragic.
Electrics in Europe is stupid.
Haha, they are quite visible from the outside already as they are, if anyone really wants to burglar a place cameras won't help as they can just use masks but it's a great deterrent for the type of crime that just happens whenever there is an oportunity, if there is any sort of planning involved cameras won't help.
😂
