- This week we're in Jackson Center, OH, home to the Airstream factory, also known as the mothership. Don't worry, we'll politely decline if anyone offers us Kool-Aid. We've come to attend Alumapalooza, a rally held yearly on the factory grounds. Before the rally officially starts, we take a quick trip into the neighboring town of Wapakoneta, the hometown of Neil Armstrong, and visit the Armstrong Air & Space Museum. Once the rally starts we volunteer and find ourselves busy, but still find time to enjoy the rally and learn all things Airstream.

I was 11 years old when the moon landing happened. TV wasn't new at all but the color TV wasn't something everybody had because those color TVs cost so much back then. The first color TV show I ever saw was Star Trek in 1966 (9 years old) and that was because our neighbors had just gotten a color TV. We watched the moon landing live on TV and back then everything space exploration was on TV and the news. Not like today where it gets mentioned but you have to find a way to watch it like on NASA TV.

I buy most of my makeup from Target, I really like the pencil the girl uses in the video (Rimmel Soft Kohl) but I've also used Neutrogena and No. 7 when that wasn't available. That's pretty much it, I hope that answers your question!! 👍😊

Oh my gosh 💸😂 When we first bought our Airstream a friend made the comment that Airstream people were a little extreme... turns out, that was an understatement!
I was 16 when they landed on the moon at 1am. our time.I think I recall it was in black and white.So proud of N. Armstrong and the brave astronauts. Thanks for the tour, really enjoy your videos.
Y'all do a really good job with your videos....thanks. The space program in the 60's was a bright spot for that decade. It was fun to watch the progress from an idea or dream to actually landing on the moon. The other part of the 60's... well traumatic.
Hey we met y'all at Alumapalooza 10. We were in the gigantic trailer with slide-out that you parked up front in the generator section. You meet so many, you probably don't remember :(. However, I have a question for you: have you been to any Airstream event that is cooking or chef-specific? Like for foodies, etc.?
When you're talking, especially when you're talking quietly, kill the music. I always give a thumbs down to any video where I can't understand what you're saying because of the music. It's really, really obnoxious and impolite. I don't know why video editors repeatedly make such a stupid mistake. Sorry if I come off as a curmudgeon, but this is one of life's annoyances I don't think anybody should have to put up with. I just don't see any excuses that could ever possibly be acceptable. I mean, your whole purpose in making a video in the first place was to communicate something to an audience, right? So why sabotage your own efforts in such an obvious and avoidable way?

I worked there from 1969 to 1976.
I was 14 years old and living in Houston when the Apollo 11 mission took place. I was at the big "welcome home" parade in downtown Houston and got to see the astronauts. My wife and I have been traveling full-time in our renovated 1971 Airstream for two years. Hope to make it to The Mother Ship someday.

Every now and then it pays to be old.. I was one year short of being a teenager when he landed on the moon. It was very cool being alive when it actually happened.

The Airstream factory tour is very nice and Jackson Center is a nice little town. We hope you also had a chance to visit the Indian Lake area just north of there. We are from just north of Dayton and spend alot of time there. Thanks for sharing the event!

Wapakoneta is my home town... and as a child, delivered newspapers to Neil Armstrong’s Mom & Dad... so I saw Neil many times when he was visiting his Mom & Dad... Also, my paving company paved most of the asphalt for Airstream..... Safe Travels! John M. Kelly
All the natl rallys can seem like cults. I drive a jeep wrangler and 95% wave at each other when passing on the roads. The Leisure Travel Van facebook page talks about how much they like to hang with each other and at the BMW motorcycle rallys I've been to it certainly looks like a cult/nerd convention. It's just fun to be around folks that share the same passions.

Awesome video! I had an Argosy I sold for $500. The buyer was concerned it was so cheap. I explained my nephew ask to stay in it until he got settled after moving to Kansas and had been in it for 18 months. I explained he had just moved in with his girlfriend and I needed it gone before she kicked him out! Paid cash and towed it away! Nephew married her and they have 3 kids are are great together.
All the homeless in the streets of cities could really use a place to go. You listening HUD? Send in the ACOE for a year, create a place that is already available. Nice work Casey!

I live 15 minutes from the KSC visitor center and I visited the Armstrong Museum a couple of years ago. Armstrong is really good museum especially for the size of the community it is in.
Loved the argosy really cool. Personally love the motorhomes don't own a Airstream but I certainly understand the draw. Looking forward to Michigan's Upper Peninsula . Again thanks for taking us along on the ride. Y'all just might have white line fever.
My little brother was born the day Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, July 20, 1969. We are getting ready to celebrate his 50th. 😀👍🏻

Thanks for sharing the Armstrong Air museum. That is somewhere we’d like to visit. We grew up in the era of the Gemini and Apollo flights. A very interesting era. Thanks for sharing your journeys.
We were there last year at both the Airstream plant and the Neil Armstrong museum. I grew up during the Apollo missions and those guys were my Heros. It’s sad we don’t have those type Heros this day and time. In one of his yearbooks on display it listed him as being in the band and the drama club, one of the baddest asses to walk this planet was evidently not involved in sports.
You need to go by the dutch city of Holland, MI and the sores of Lake Michigan. Silver Lake is cool too.

I was 5 when they landed and I remember the sense of it being monumental, I remember being quite aware of it being a new, very special thing. Television, however seemed like nothing special, like it had always been. Haha.
