I bought this album when it came out, and played it to death. The unreleased songs were fantastic and worth the album by their selves. Masterpiece is my favorite .

Your reviews remind of the good old days of the old grey whistle test, so thoughtful, concise and full of detail👍

It's absolutely worth seeking out the 4 tracks Bob played live at a new years concert with the Band at the Academy of Music, at the end of '71.

Hi, John. Great video as always. Watching the River Flow and When I Paint My Masterpiece are great on the Shadow Kingdom album from 2023. Also, it's nice that you put up your Tintin artwork, and with the original French titles, no less! Take care!

It’s a shame he didn’t do an album with Leon Russell at that point. “River Flow” has a great sound.

This greatest hits was my first vinyl I ever bought myself. I put it on and the last side just amazed me, i love watching the river flow and when i paint my masterpiece is maybe in my top 5 Dylan tracks ever. I hope to see him play those when i see him later this year :) nice video, keep it up

i never knew dylan chose the songs for volume 2. he should be considered a genius for that alone. nice videos on you tube of people assembling a 1971 full album release by bob.

i recently rewatched "concert for bangladesh" in it's entirety and while i agree with you about dylan being the highlight, harrison was thoroughly enjoyable. billy preston was someone i unwisely had paid no attention to and seeing pete ham play with george was touching. are you going to see dylan this fall in your neck of the woods, john?

The newly recorded tracks on GH II are absolutely amazing and worth the price of admission alone.

Nice video John! The Greatest Hits Vol. II was my second Dylan record after Greatest Hits. Both CDs bought in the mid-90s. Now I have 46 different releases, mostly vinyl. And Bob is my most played artist on Spotify year after year. But I did not know that the cover photo was from the Bangladesh concert. So thanks for that piece of information. 😊

Hi, great video! I have that covers compilation on double vinyl. It's a wonderful listen, one of my favourite records in my collection. I can't remember where I bought it though, and I didn't even know it was released on CD! During that period Columbia also put out the 'Dylan' album (without Bob's permission), which is a pretty poor set of covers, although I don't mind Spanish Is The Living Tongue. I have it on vinyl too as it did not get a CD release until I believe, the complete album collection box set.
I also have the Masterpieces collection on triple vinyl. That's really worth checking out as each side is themed, with one side being non album tracks, including Rita May! A friend of mine had a CD copy of that, but I'm not sure where he got it as I've never seen it in a shop. Maybe a collection that's a worthy subject for another video? Anyways, thanks, I always enjoy the videos and hearing your take on things as a life long fan. Stuart

@johnheaton5667 .... John, excellent and very informative! As I really enjoy Dylan as well.
I'd like to request if you could do an indepth program on Dylan's bootleg series, and
    which 10 or so are
    the best in your opinion.
    Thanks John.
