The world-building in Youjo Senki is criminally underrated. The author really understands his military history and managed to incorporate fantasy elements seamlessly into a "great war" setting.
@Ban this youtube to be fair Youjo Senki is somewhere in between ww1 and ww2 setting wise. it starts with trench warfare, but (thanks to nudging along by tanya) quickly becomes more focused on mobile warfare and early combined arms (like ww2 blitzkrieg tactics). also things like dunkirk are mirrored in the story.

For me I like this one because how sadistic the loli is and how the army expect the one lieutenant, I think that was his rank, praise her for her success. By far I wish they would make a second season to it
