I love that the man actually used a trowel to bang the cymbal for the brick-laying pig, lol.
Hearing these soundtracks recreated like this makes you appreciate how difficult they were to perform. You can see all the musicians here getting a workout, no matter what they're playing 👏
I was friends with Gail Laughton, who was the staff harpist at Warner Brothers. He told me, "we used to hate Friday afternoons, because that's when the cartoons would come in. It was the damndest music you ever saw! We worked our butts off on them!"
Seeing this performed you really notice what an incredible work these early scores were. So much work! Also, when the wolf is pretending to be a sheep, he is having to sound like a deep voice that is trying to sound like a higher voice lol. Not easy and well done.
The Danish Orchestra has Easter eggs
Such a fun and rousing arrangement! This left me with a big smile on my face.
I wish I could have seen the smiles on Walt and Roy's descendants when the caught this! Only DR Koncerthuset can inject such sparkling new life into these old but dated classics. Oh, and thank DR for keeping the well deserved applause in the video, on this one. Wouldn't be surprised is this one goes viral.
Det er sejt. Og symfoniorkester, der spiller musik
Tilhører dette miljø selv, Jeg kender personligt flere DNSO-musikere, og dette bryder visse tabuer og fordomme
So what do you play in the orchestra?
Well I play the door, the cement trowel and duck whistle!
😳
In an interview before the concert he was quite excited about playing the door 😂
Love it!!! Make me wanna see the animation again. And the use of Foley artist tricks was a brilliant Idea.
Awesome childhood memory coming back. I literally pictured the entire film playing in my head when hearing the music being played. Brava and Bravo to all the musicians, singers, the Conductor and the entire support team.
They seem to have a great time
I'm so glad I came across this!!! This was one of my favorites of the Silly Symphony scores, yet I always wanted to hear a modern interpretation of it since I missed the Disney's "Live to film" concert series.
